It's OK until the nationalism and racism starts kicking in. The author probably was getting warnings from the CCP about not enough nationalism even though it was over 100 years after the apocalypse and all governments pretty much fell. (I guess while struggling to survive they made sure to teach their children that other nations are evil, especially the Japanese.)

So it's just illogical.

You end up with a basic Chinese MC who becomes a tr*shy sword wielder who forgets he has other talents.

Spoiler

Author forgets what he was doing, for example: he was building a 'force' on Earth. But then they disappear from the novel completely even though he was originally all about finding young people with high talents to train to be his subordinates. (But I suppose it didn't help with his sword so the author decided to ignore it?)

MC is an utter moron. By chapter 312 he has 2 'copy' opportunities per DAY.

But, he disdains any kind of production skills even though he could just get the 'talent' and keep it for later. Instead he just doesn't bother to copy a lot of the time later on.

If you liked Solo-Leveling, you'll like this novel as well. I recommend this novel if you want something entertaining to read while passing the time.

I'd suggest you start with the manhua to see if you like the story or not. If you have any questions about where to continue on after the latest manhua chapter, you can join my Discord and send a quick DM!

As for the nationalism allegations, I'd say it's about the same as Solo Leveling (Japan Arc) or other Chinese novels. If you can understand that this... more>> is a work of fiction, I think there'd be no problem.

Enjoy reading! <<less

This novel is quite enjoyable for those seeking a fast-paced cultivation story. The MC's ability is reminiscent of a system, but the novel contains none of the trappings of a system story. Etude is doing a wonderful job translating this novel, and I appreciate him for picking this novel up. Definitely give this novel a shot if you want a quick, yet enjoyable reading experience.

I started reading your talent is mine after manual/manwha (or whatever) it is a different cultivation concept, a fresh one, we needed and the world building and pace is really good, I am honestly at this point not too much of a fun in good elaborate, artistic and long prose in cultivation novels or young master nonsense, this novel is concise, the author know what he wants to to with the story, there no standart young master or other cultivation novel cliches etc, so if you would like to read... more>> something fresh and new Your talent is mine a good choice.

Last but not least, let us not forget the amazing quality of the translation, etude does a splendid job translating this work, and I thank him for the enormous effort he put into.

Anyways I digress, overall for the time being, I am at chapter 111, I do not read mtl's or raws, and I am enjoying this novels, so give it a shot it you are looking for something to read. <<less

Thank you etude for translating this novel.

I really love how the MC is always improving, either he improves his comprehension, enhances his talents, improves his cultivation, etc. It feels like there isn't a moment the MC isn't improving and this feeling increases as the novel goes on and I just really like it.

If you like a MC who never idles then this is for you.

MC is too weak that he doesn't even utilize his copy talent that well, might as well remove that as it doesn't affect the plot or his overall strength and just provides a starting point for him, with frequent timeskips while his cultivation doesn't progress that much, this with his 100x sometime 300x time dilation ability, there was one time he spent 10, 000 years (normal time) with a snail's pace of progress and didn't even levelled up, didn't even bother to travel the universe and search, MC is basically... more>> stuck on same cultivation unless some guy or some realm just opened up.

There's no intrigue or any kind of maneuvering done here, the plot itself and MC pretty much waits for others to provide him resources and opportunities to progress, unless anything noteworthy happens, MC is stuck cultivating in the same level then magically a guy he knows says he can enter some realm and he levels up. This is basically a slife of life cultivation genre, where MC doesn't even struggle or strive to work hard and surpass his limits, and only waits for someone to spoonfeed him.

A lot is also pretty much forgotten and left behind. He rarely interacts with his sister and his wife, even when mentioned leaves much ro be desired. His pets like the dragon, the two others who he left with her sister are never mentioned again. He basically owned the solar system but left it barren foe thousand of years without even a mention of how things improved, aside from that race change dry run he did on Earth.

It might seem his cultivation is fast, but with all these timeskips and getting handed stuff on a silver platter makes the MC stagnant, he doesn't act like someone with an edge over everybody with his copy talent skill, there's even a loophole once he gained the seize/grant ability, there was no mention of the exact limitations of his copy talent. He could literally farm those talents on his own. <<less

I started reading this novel because of the manhwa and they are very different from one another. The novel does a way better job at storytelling and explaining stuff whereas the manhwa just pulls stuff out of its ass most of the time. I get that some stuff needs to be changed for a different medium adaptation but the manhwa didn't do a good job imho.

The way the MC improves his abilities is pretty cool (and extremely overpowered) and I really like this kind of storytelling but the moment some... more>> romance starts happening, it's extremely cringey. Seriously, it's almost like the author has never spoken to a woman in his entire life and the romance is the only thing keeping me from rating this novel higher as of right now. I'm not even against romance and I actually like it when done right, it's just that this novel does an incredibly poor job at it. <<less

Interesting novel

The nationalism isn't too bad honestly from what I've read, cringy but it isn't anything insane.

There is an arc that clearly references another asian country that was hard to read because of how cringy the whole thing was but other wise the pacing is good. Author thus far hS kept the story interesting no 100 chapter long struggle so far about a small matter that is later forgotten.

To be honest, I started reading this with my brain totally switched off. I just wanted a simple adventure story where the MC starts getting strong, and his copycat talent made it pretty interesting. It all starts out fine, but slowly, you start noticing the terrible writing. The author literally forgets things they wrote even at the beginning of the same chapter... that's how bad the quality is.

I absolutely wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

And if you do decide to read it, seriously, switch your brain off, too. But even with... more>> your brain off, it's impossible not to get bored while reading.

Romance 0/10

The author is also absolutely awful at writing romance. Early on, they introduced a female character named Yue Ling. She had a lot of interactions with the MC, even if they weren't romantic, starting around chapter 20 (or maybe earlier, I can't remember). This continued as the MC grew stronger, so if the author was bad at romance, this was his chance, since there was at least some prior history.

Then, another female character shows up: Saint Xinyue, basically the saint of a sect, she had a few casual interactions with the MC, and suddenly, there was a 'relationship.'

Finally, FL appears. She hooks up with the MC in under 10 chapters, with one of the most cringey romance interactions you could possibly imagine.

Motivation 0/10

The MC's motivation is something I will never get. It started with him just trying to survive in that world and protect his sister, but somehow, this quickly changes into the MC's supposed search for eternal life for absolutely no clear reason.

Human Relationships 0/10

The MC has no friends. Seriously, it's just his wife and sister. He has zero other relationships, not to mention he abandoned his sister and totally forgot about her.

Every single thing he accomplishes is only to "Help his wife." The MC got this insane talent boost, he can steal talents from others and give them away. This was supposed to help him give talents to his wife and sister so they could improve, but he only ever gives anything to his wife, never his sister.

Division of Realms 0/10

This is one of the worst cultivation systems I have ever seen in my life.

When the MC reaches the strongest realm in the mortal world, the Emperor realm, the cultivation method is simple: 10 realms before ascending. However, you can temper your body up to 20 times. Geniuses aim for the limit between 11 and 20 before becoming gods.

So, within the Emperor realm, there were many titles, like 1-Star Emperor, 2-Star, up to 9 Stars; after that came a supposed Sovereign Emperor.

The author forgets the "Sovereign Emperor" title and adds a new one: "Heavenly Pride." Funnily enough, the Heavenly Pride also have 9 stars. On top of that, they keep cultivating, and there's another 9-star sub-realm. But let's not forget, this is all still the Emperor Realm... The damn Emperor Realm has 27 stars so far...

Protagonist's Location and World Building 2/10

It uses the same tired formula every time: the MC starts in a small base, then there are medium bases and large bases. When they get to the large base, surprise! there are Superbases. And even the "superbase" the MC moves to is a tr*sh superbase compared to the others...

The solar system is the lowest level, the galaxy is the lowest, the universe is the lowest, and so on... Every time the protagonist becomes number one in something, more realms, more levels, and more universes suddenly pop up. It just never stops. <<less

Honestly? Not recommended unless you want to shut off your brain and read a novel in a chill way without looking for anything serious. If that's what you're looking for, I do recommend this novel. But I think I read this novel in a less chill and in a more serious way, which is why I feel I really wasted my time.

Tbh I was really conflicted in writing this comment because I really like the translator and they seem to really care about their work, but sorry I just can't.... more>> This novel is absolute dogsh*t. No matter how much I like the translator, I simply can't read this novel in good faith anymore. Honestly, there are quite a few decent storylines in this novel (the only reason I read nearly 500 chapters of it). But most other comments already meniton the positive aspects (I do honestly agree with many of the points the top 5 star ratings here mention) so I'm just gonna scream into void and write a rant here.

Well, I start by saying that the author doesn't seem to give a crap about their own novel. Each arc is filled with loopholes over loopholes. The author constantly forgets the names and the abilities their MC supposedly has. Every few arcs, the author generates new 'facts' to make the plot go on and on and on for no reason. MC breaks through the realm X? It turns out, realm X actually has 20 stages. So MC has to break through each of them slowly, and mutilple enemies pop up per realm for MC to face slap.

There you sit, waiting for the MC to break through these 20 mini relams and can get past the realm X. BUT wait, there's more! Turns out, along with each of these 'mini realms' after a specific level, there are a seperate set of realms (11 of them) and some of those also actually split into 9 other 'star levels'. So now, even if MC breaks through one of these mini-realms, he should also improve his abilities in another way so that he could also break through these 'mini-mini realm star levels'. So basically, you sit, reading this story as MC breaks through DOZENS of different realms of different types and different whatever WHILE HE IS STILL STUCK AT cultivation stage X. The MC finally reaches the realm 9 of star levels at the 19th mini-realm of the X realm. And you finally think "Oh finally, let's break through the last mini realm of these mini-star realms and go from X cultivation stage to the next!" but wait, there are even more mini realms before MC can break through from the 9th star level of the 19th mini-realm of the X realm into the next cultivation stage.

Turns out, to break through these realms, MC actually needed to have a seperate heart cultivation level that no one told him because these levels are a big secret (a.k.a., author's typical a**pull). So now, the MC should start breaking through these 4 cultivation realms before he can go back to his original cultivation method and use them to break through from the 9th star realm of the 19th mini-realm of the X cultivation stage to the 9th star realm of the 20th mini-realm of the X cultivation stage. And only after that he can finally break through from the X cultivation stage to the next one (let's call it Y cultivation stage for the sake of it). BUT WAIT, there is EVEN MORE. Turns out, MC can't actually cultivate the 4 levels of this new cultivation method as he is. He actually needs to have a SECOND SOUL STRENGHTENING METHOD so that he can get the qualification to cultivate this new 4 stage cultivation thingy to the 4th level, and use that to actually have a chance to break through the 20th mini-stage of the X realm cultivation stage.

hehe, did you think that's all the requirements? Nope. NOW IT TURNS OUT, MC has no way of breaking through the 20th mini-realm if he can't find a 3 star hidden realm of especial qi, which apparently only the 9 star level special forces of the universe have. So MC has to enter that realm and break through the next level.

And then we go through the same thing again, again, and AGAIN.

Well, now let's focus on MC's copy talent. Well, not saying much other than the fact that author LOVES to tell but not show. Meaning? Some enemy shows up. MC checks their talent and sees they have some 'chaos speed infinite random words random words talent of god level'. Anyone with brain would at least try to copy this talent if they don't have it because the name seems interesting (and who knows if it might have some hidden effect not written in its name?), but MC SIMPLY IGNORES THEM, EVERY SINGLE TIME that such a thing happens. And then he goes "oh unfortunate this person has no useful talents to copy" like WHAT THE HE*L are you talking about?! You see tons of interesting talents with weird names everyday and it is YOU who ignores all of them. Not to mention, you have the ability to copy

Spoiler

5 abilities PER DAY. (Yeah, sounds crazy doesn't it? The author should've staayed at the initial 1 per month limit and only then there might have been a SLIGHT saving grace to this novel without the MC's power being broken as FU*k. Unfortunately, you can't really expect much brain power from this author. They write random nonsense first and only then suddenly realize their mistake and decide to make MC not copy new talents for arbitrary reasons etc etc.)

[collapse]

200 or so chapters into the story, you can safely ignore the fact that MC has the copy ability. The author once in a while throws some random ability the MC might get interested to copy, but otherwise he rarely copies any new ability he sees on his enemies.

And the romance, well, one of the cringest romantic subplots I've read in my life (and oh boy, I've read a ton of them).

Seriously, I don't think I've ever read a novel where I had to completely skip some of its sections due to how cringe they were. It's like the author woke up one day and decided to throw one of the most random romantic arcs in the middle of their novel, except they have zero talent in writing romance. And they decided to do that in the initial of their novel with one of the worst and least developed female characters of the whole novel. Like, literally any female character I've seen in this story has a MILLION times more personality than the love interest. It's like the author had a checklist of what to inlcude in their story, woke up one day, and decided to write a random female character for the sole purpose of being MC's

Spoiler

wife.

[collapse]

Literally, the love interest has zero personality. Zero character building. Zero anything. I saw the romance tag and was looking forward to the romance (in case it might save this novel), considering there were a few actually decently written female characters in the novel. BUT NOPE. The author put all of them aside, created a new character out of nowhere, and the instant she appreared the author was pretty much screaming at your face "You see this girl? SHE IS THE PERSON MC must marry with". I just don't get it. Like, even though the author has proved themselves to give absolutely no care about the stuff they write, but I at least know they have a shred of skill in having some minimal character background in the characters. Why would they go out of their way and specifically write a whole new character without any sort of character building and specifically decided to use that person as the love interest??

Like,

Spoiler

MC suddenly meets a woman who's apparently 'decades old and very old monster', except she apparently has 0 social skills despite being the sect leader of one of the largests sects of earth, and she acts like a 15yo kid when it comes to romance. MC then just 'fell for her' for no reason, and he instantly changes the way he calls her from 'Empress Yue' starts calling her "Yue'er" (a very, VERY intimate way of calling your loved ones). Absolute cringe at its finest. I wouldn't call it 'bad' but holy hell I feel akward af the moment MC even mentions the word "Yue'er".

[collapse]

And let me not even mention the way the author handles MC's sister

Spoiler

HOLY hell. The MC decides to leave her by herself on earth without helping her because apparently doing any help to her would 'hurt her'. But the same thing doesn't apparently hold for the love interest because (MC's words) "A wife and husband are one, so it doesn't matter even if they help each other."

Like, are you for real author?? Your MC has countless resources, countless treasures, countless everything. And even the ability to steal talent from others and giving them to anyone he likes. And you're telling me he's going to leave his sister ALONE for YEARS without help so she can go through years of pain over pain of having to live and cultivate with a bunch of absolute useless cultivation methods and low level talent in the middle of nowhere????

[collapse]

Sigh, this novel is a mountain of lost potential. The author took a bite, far beyind something he could chew, and this is the result. <<less

Currently on chapter 1205 using Etude's translation.

They are a very passionate translator who makes the story make sense. I tried using MTL and google translate and a lot of sub context could be missed. This is where Etude comes in. The translator notes give you insights on the meaning behind certain actions and words.

Another aspect of Etude's translation is that they release 1-2 chapters a day which is really good. Some other translators wait months before translating or they wait until they hit a certain amount of funds before they... more>> release another chapter. Etude releases them every day regardless of what they're doing which shows me how much they put into their translation work.

I recommend the story if you want a power fantasy type of story with a lot of resource gathering chapters. It reminds me of Swallowed Star in terms of the story progression. I would definitely recommend it. There are zero annoying characters and MC is ruthless and cunning. <<less
