When Reader and Author Transmigrate Inside the Book at the Same Time

Gu Jinmian both loved and hated the great god author He Bujin.

There would always be a male supporting character that poked his heart in his works, but the author always abused his favorite male supporting character for the sake of his protagonist.

In the latest update, Eldest Young Master Gu spent millions trying to make the author treat his favorite character better.

However, the author wrote the male supporting character dead.

Later, Gu Jinmian unexpectedly transmigrated into the book with darkened eyes and became a powerful man.

Since forcing the dog author to be good to his favorite character didn’t work out, then he’ll do it himself.

However, there seems to be something wrong with this beautiful man that never gives in to his fate.

He handed in the resources himself, yet the male supporting character didn’t even lift his eyelids. He looked like he’d rather rot in a corner and be a salted fish.

He robbed the main character’s resources for him, yet the male “ salted fish” supporting character returned it to the protagonist, and was even hurt and bitten by the protagonist in the process.

Gu Jinmian was shocked and heartbroken. This must be because of the dog author He Bujin, he shouted: “Curse you He Bujin!!”

The male supporting character lifted his eyelids, “Who are you scolding?”

“It’s because of that He Bujin! It’s this dog that has caused you so much misery. I will definitely put him in a sack!”

The male supporting character showed a sullen smile, eyes bright and dark, “Oh?”

******

He Bujin spent all his life being miserable, gloomy and violent. After he settled down in a high position, he wrote his own experience into several books like self abuse. The supporting role with his own shadow in the book–the more sympathy others gave him–the more miserable he was and the more ruthless he wrote.

Destiny made a mockery of him, and made him transmigrate as the man inside the book and experience misery again.

However, an asteroid accidentally fell into the gray and depressing book, rushed into his life without reason, and drilled into his arms with light and heat.

That person took his hand and a tear fell on the wound on his palm. “Don’t hurt yourself, OK?”

He Bujin just stared at him, with dark eyes and tight throat. “OK.”

Really good. The real world chapters (last 20 I think) are really heartwarming.

ML is a "powerful gong with a sad background" type, he has some kind of disability that makes him need to use a wheelchair most of the time but still able to walk on his own. He decided to write a webnovel which is essentially a vent fic with people in his life used as OC inspo, and a side character is based on himself but used as his emotional punching bag whenever he wants to vent his... more>> feelings. He's a pretty standard "everyone is scared of him but he's actually a nice, understanding dude who dotes on the MC" type of ML, but he's not an empty or bland character.

MC is a pretty normal dude who grew up in a single-parent (father) household. The ML's side character is his favorite comfort character, so he initially hates the author who he assumed was just a heartless sad*st who just wants his characters to suffer. He comes across as a sunshine boy when he's with the ML, and ML seems to enjoy putting him in pink or yellow (in the book and in the real world).

Honestly, as someone who also gets attached to abused side characters I really vibed with the MC. The character interactions of MC and ML with each other and with others was interesting. I sort of feel like I would've preferred if the entire thing was the real world section, but from a pragmatic view the transmigration aspect gave this enough of a hook to pull people in first. <<less

I was trying to enjoy the book but then the author made the slightly racist comment about Africa and it rubbed me the wrong way ngl.

It's not the first time I've seen this narrative in CN novels were being sent to Africa equates some kind of inhumane torture and as an avid reader (from West Africa) I hate it so much so anytime I see it I just drop the books so yeah. I'm sure some people may not care or think it's an over reaction but I've seen... more>> this multiple times in different books so it annoys me. Also why do they always refer to Africa like its some country when its literally a whole ass continent smh <<less

Ok.

So I just love this story.

I love it.

I was very immersed in it, that when I realized it, I've finished it already!? I cried.

I fell in love with the characters in this novel. Especially the two main leads.

The side character has really fun character that made me want to cherish them.

I was so happy when they finally went back into the real world. It was so CUTE.

The last wedding... I am so happy. I feel like a mother who watched on as their kids grow.

It is a cute story. MC is so adorable trying to give everything for ml. And ML is coool. Good at everything ! Side characters are cute and sweet some are cool! The story is pretty fluffy and also it has some angst too (almost only a bit). Overall everything is good! Pretty chill to read. Great for past time!

The beginning to half of the story is really good! It’s such a fun read!

I’m sick right now and should be resting but I keep on reading this novel cause I couldn’t put it down, it’s that good!

Unfortunately, when it’s already more than half of the story, I think the author’s writing style changed — there were also a lot of interesting plot points that were skipped and just described in a sentence or two like

Spoiler

MC’s realization that he likes ML (it was just described in the sentence that he realized yesterday that he likes ML)

[collapse]

The build up regarding how the reader and the author will finally know their true identities is good! Very intriguing!

But when it really happened, it was kinda confusing and irritating because

Spoiler
  • It seems like some scenes were being skipped like the ML now knows that MC transmigrated? The MC suddenly realizes that he likes ML? Like MC just said that “yesterday I realized that I like ML” that’s it
  • I got pissed at ML when they quarreled because MC was cursing the ‘author’. I get it that ML is the author so it doesn’t sound nice to hear “dog author, curse u author” coming from MC’s mouth but I think it’s very unreasonable and unlikely for ML to actually give MC a cold shoulder for almost a week just because of that when he (ML) haven’t clarified yet with MC that he is the author
  • During that quarrel, ML wasn’t really budging and letting the issue go or talking about it until MC made a document introducing himself before he transmigrated and ML realizes that MC is actually his childhood sweetheart. That’s the only reason as to why he caved in the cursing the author issue! Imagine if MC wasn’t the childhood sweetheart, would ML continue giving MC the cold shoulder?
[collapse]

I really like the ML and MC combo, it’s just that around chapter 45-50 the ML’s personality seemed to changed and there were also plot skips

Anyhooo, it’s still a good read <<less

This is unexpectedly good! Omg??? The plot is also good. The story basically started with the MC cursing the ML, who's the author. ML always kill the characters that MC always liked. Out of anger he cursed the ML to experience what those characters experienced in the novel. And so, they both went inside the novel. It's amazing coz they were actually connected way back to the past which they didn't know at first. And I love how the characters have their own distinguished characteristics, which is rare to other... more>> novels like they just put characters for the sake of just lengthening the story or just a stepping stones for the main characters to move further. Anyway, I highly recommend this. It's a gem. It's fluff. It may not be perfect but I can see the author's effort of making this novel so just give it a try! 😁❤️☺️ <<less

It's Ended Perfectly!!!! Perfect with the way the characters live on and the way they deserve the Happily Ever After that suitable for Everyone!!!

It's SOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!

Honestly at the almost half of the story, I can't help but wonder how the revelation would be like, how they would show their genuinely Mutual Love. Mostly how MC would accept ML and his reaction and all to the Truth.

Everything wrapped so well done I couldn't think of more. Because the writing was so well though. Make sense without any unnecessary drama whatsoever, sooo... more>> nicely done!

Yes it does have drama because the truth revelation thing as the Main Issues, but it was really well with how MC think of everything. It has 'Conflict', but solved fast in the Making Sense way, okay. Nothing rush nor slow.

And Love how Everyone was written so well no one... NO ONE is a Flat Character.

Especially the OG!Protagonist... Truly Epic Win we Love him!!!

Anyway it's not like the usual Transmigration novel, Absolutely Intriguing, Entertaining, Smooth, and Deserve Well Deserved Praise!!!

Absolutely WORTH IT AND I'M LOVING IT FOREVER FOR ETERNITY AND BEYOND IN ANY UNIVERSES!!! <<less

The fights are dog blood. The character MC transmigrates into a character that tortures stars because of his hatred of his love rival, the white moonlight. MC's family supports it because they feel bad for accidentally encouraging his failed love.

What really bothers me are what's meant to be the unintentional face slapping insults by MC. He tells the white moonlight that he's aging, which means that you'll gain weight and your face will change shape so I didn't recognize you. This type of reasoning doesn't even make sense to say... more>> to someone who you don't recognize if you transmigrate into a body where you didn't inherit any memories from it. So instead of the MC assuming that the stranger might have a previous relationship with him he just flat out says I don't recognize you. MC says this you've gained weight stuff to a star. Imagine saying this to a star that takes care of their skin and diet, which I'm sure all stars do because they work hard. The comment seems more like what a girl would think up or pay attention to rather than a guy.

The final straw is when the director agrees with MC and wants a reshoot after the white moonlight loses weight, instead of a reshoot because of acting ability. All of this just breaks my suspension of disbelief so I'm dipping out, maybe skip till next arc idk. I was expecting more warmth rather than dogblood faceslaps. <<less

What a fun read. Lots of face-slapping, but imo the characters never go too far with it. The MC and ML are kind of overpowered but the villains don't really get "one shot" so there's still enough drama to keep things interesting. I usually don't like entertainment industry novels but this one had a good balance of other stuff so it never got boring. I really loved the two main characters and most of the side characters, too. A little cliche at times (the MC is rich so he and... more>> his family throw around money and power for face slapping), but well executed with just the right pacing.

As others have mentioned, there are a few insults that are a little... questionable at times, but they're in line with what I've seen from other danmei. <<less

Really liked this story! So sweet to see how mc's sunshine and sincerity helped heal the ML heart, both in the book and in reality.

I thought the author gave the transmigration a nice twist by having the MC and ML connected in reality ... more>>

I also liked how the author didn't insist on the "villains" in the original story being irredeemable once the transmigrators got there. That the original protagonist and the 3rd male lead/cannon fodder turned into

of the MC and ML was quite fun. Plus the face slapping, while present, wasn't the dominant theme, redeeming the ML and the ups and downs of his relationship with the MC was.

I also thought it was great the way the ml, while redeemed, also insisted that before he would go for a totally committed relationship with the MC, that he (the mc) see him; bad side, scars and all.

I will say that the editing of the story needed some work. Especially with pronouns - frequently him/her were mixed up. Also, several times the names of the MC and ML were wrong - for almost a whole chapter.

Overall though, I would definitely recommend this as a refreshing, fun and sweet story. Go read it! <<less

A FREAKING GEM!

I don’t think I can emphasize it enough; this novel was such a fun read. A cute new spin (at least for me) as both the author & avid reader transmigrate into the same novel. MC is livid after the author of the novel he was reading decides to off his favorite character. He instantly logs online to shit-talk the author & spam angry comments, inevitably cursing the author a fate just like that of the deceased character. Not to mention the timely storm that harbors magic powers... more>> because hooooow the heck will you explain transmigration. Boom—both are thrown into the novel, MC as a pe*verted but extremely powerful second gen spoiled rich boy & ML as the character he himself wrote to die.

BRILLIANT. If that’s not a hook then I don’t know what is. Enemies to lovers?? Healing romance?? Fake dating turned real?? A romance bound to make you cry from both secondhand embarrassment & angst?? It’s such an addicting read & I’m incredibly glad to have lost sleep finishing this novel. It’s currently 3am which is pretty much the usual hour I finish up novels I’m binge-reading & haphazardly typing out a thoughts-dump version of a “review”.

I want to say that there are holes to the plot or just some details here & there that are lacking, but screw that—I was entertained & the pros definitely outweighed the cons for me. It was a gratifying read & I can probably sink my teeth into this a few more times. If you like dog-blood plots, transmigration, fluffy & embarrassment moments, this is your cup of tea. I just appreciate that the story came full circle & didn’t just stop midway. It doesn’t make my head ache at the possibility of what’s next, but it finishes where it needs to be. <<less

Honestly it's pretty cliche especially when you start to piece together the connection between the author and reader.

It's not a bad read, but it's definitely not a fulfilling read.

Would have rated this a 3 but I do appreciate its humour, I had a few chuckles while reading this but whenever it jumps back to romance I can't help but roll my eyes.

I loved it!

Didn't know it was modern day or showbiz (I should read the tags more often) but just going by the summary I thought it was more of a xianxia style. Regardless, this story was so cute, so sweet, chef's kiss!

MC is super sweet with his fangirling methods while the ML is cold and distant because of his upbringing. A pretty standard but enjoyable pair.

Story wise some of the plot is fairly straightforward other parts are expected yet unexpected.

For example, I knew the discovery of He Bujins identity would be a smack to the face of Gu Jinmian but I didn't expect it to almost ruin the fluff. My poor heart!

[collapse]

I'm quite glad the author wrote an extra about the four bachelor Gu Brothers. You can't write about such loving older brothers and not give them they're HE.

Anyway if you're into fluff, showbiz, and an MC that protects the ML like a mama bear protects her cub then this is for you! <<less

I loved this novel, but honestly, I can't pinpoint the exact reason why. Maybe I liked it because of the combinations of many things. In this novel, there are many small details that, usually separately, aren't important and may seem ordinary, but together make the novel enjoyable and good. There are many novels with similar plots, but I really fell in love with this one.

First of all, the story is perfectly balanced; there is drama and a tragic past, but also funny and sweet moments. The author never goes over... more>> the top and tortures readers with too many heartbreaking details. All the abuse and tragic moments that were described had the purpose of showing why a certain character became who he is now. These moments helped me understand characters and sympathise with them. Also, it showed why MC and ML fell in love and are perfect for each other.

Secondly, I loved the main characters and side characters. They are well-rounded and lovable. Their actions are believable. While reading, you believe that they are actual breathing humans, not someone's part of the imagination. MC is adorable—a bit naive and sometimes silly, but in a cute way. Not that kind of silly that causes a lot of trouble and drives readers mad. Actually, when it matters, he is reliable and smart too. ML is a bit dark, but he went through a lot, and it is understandable. He is like a hedgehog; he is hiding and is afraid to receive love. I am sad that ML always felt that even in his own story, he is only the side character, just a cannon fodder. But despite his actions and his character, he is very lovable. He is one of those tortured characters with whom you can't help but fall in love.

It seems from the synopses that the story is heartbreaking, but actually it is the opposite. The story is really warm and cute about healing and true love. There were many heartwarming moments that made the story unique and lovely. The events in this novel may seem bizarre, yet the development of the story is logical. All parts are connected well. The flow is good, and nothing seems out of place. There are also a few good plot twists. And the extras were lovely and beautiful too. The author gave us a perfect ending.

This novel is perfect. I cannot find any fault with it. Usually I'm soft-hearted and can't deduct stars, so I tend to overrate things, but this one truly deserves 5 stars. <<less
