I absolutely love this novel y'all. It's so refreshing to see a protagonist, not even one who was isekaied from modern times, actually have their entire goals in the world revolve around abolishing s*avery!! The protagonist is such a fun narrator for the story, someone who I can unabashedly cheer for without restraint in his adventures. The way he reacts to reuniting with old friends who have forgotten him is so compelling and warm to me, I don't know how to say it.

More importantly, I just really need to get off my chest how much I despise the antagonist here. Holy shit. I don't know what it is or how the author did it, but the villain in this novel, the fella who our protagonist swapped bodies with, actually pisses me off so bad. Like, buddy's entire purpose in this story is to maintain the status quo of mass s*avery. I'm so mad every time we jump over to this mfers perspective and he's doing anything better that living in utter squalor. The fact that an antagonist can inspire such sincere vitriol in my soul without even having much of a presence on the story (at least as of chapter 100ish, when I'm writing this review) along is worthy of getting five stars.

Man I love a story with an anti-racism moral! Also, I highly recommend checking out this author's other underrated work, Death King Karnak, for more fun and dynamic characters based in empathy and compassion for humanity xoxo

the story is quite uniquely done, at the very least compared to other similar stories. I think it's pretty decent, not to the point of a masterpiece, but still quite good.

the beginning is about MC regressing as his enemy who kills him, which is not really new. but there are two things to point out about this story.

1. regarding mc

basically, MC is a 10th-circle mage, who got regressed in the body of a martial artist. you see, there are a lot of stories where MC possesses another body with excellent... more>> quality, where MC who normally has an average brain ends up becoming able to understand various kinds of subjects easily after possessing an excellent body. you can think MC in this story has a backward compatibility to that.

in the past live, MC is like someone who has a supercomputer-level brain. with that, he became a 10th-circle mage. but after reincarnation, MC completely lost that brain and has a below-average brain, because of that the magic that can be used in an instant in the past life, became magic that takes a lot of time to use and that's unusable in battle.

you see, in this world, using magic is like solving really hard mathematical problems/questions. Even in real life, there are things that would take less than a day to solve with a computer, but if you have to solve them manually without any aid, it might take days, weeks, months, or maybe years. such as finding prime numbers in tens/hundreds/or maybe thousands of digits among all numbers...

Moreover, mc's body has a low amount of mana making it not suitable for using magic. so basically since MC has the knowledge of them, he can use any magic he has in his past life but it would take too long, making them useless in battle where MC fights, and so fight until ch 50 is in fact only compromised of fighting as martial arts.

2. regarding lore/background story

so basically it's a world dominated by humans. apparently, in the past, humans especially the upper echelon ones were afraid the nonhuman race would rebel, so they forbade teaching any useful knowledge to the nonhuman race. and after generations of humans passed, humans take it for granted that nonhuman races are s*upid and incapable of learning anything. but even if they cannot learn anything, they are also dangerous because they can harm humans.

in the past live, MC was the only one aware of it and made a country made only with nonhuman races. and the humans who don't know the truth think that MC uses some kind of magic to make all nonhuman races follow him. The humans are afraid that after MC dies those nonhuman races will wreak havoc and destroy humans, that's why humanity makes war which leads to killing MC.

to summarize the perspective of people in this world, just like how nobles look down on commoners and think they are not much different from animals, most humans, including commoners look down on nonhuman race and think they are not much different from animals. and MC in this life intends to change that very perspective from humans. <<less

MC regressed in the body of someone else, he was a mage before but his current body is not adept in magic also it doesn't even show him training his magic, and judging from the first episode he wasn't all that much for a "10th circle mage" for whatever that means. Getting stuck in someone else's body also made MC intelligence significantly lower than it already was and it shows, only thing going for him is his wisdom from his past life.

There is not much magic from MC in the... more>> story, looks like he'll be mostly relying on his martial arts

Also are you really saying that humans managed to defeat an alliance of different races and species? Humans that are as s*upid as the latest chapters shows? As far as I know from fantasy the humans only has one thing going for them and that is their adaptability and maybe the fact that they reproduce faster than other races. Story was built like a castle of cards from the beginning, only thing believable was that a human was also the reason for the downfall of the humanoids alliance.

Really hoping they elaborate on the reason MC think so highly of the other races because I am not in the least inclined to believe his reasonings.

I am not able to see how MC will succeed in bringing about his ideals, maybe he will change his world view or some serious plot holes are ahead of us. Even a story about the MC descending into madness would be more interesting than this generic stuff, or atleast something more ambiguous. <<less
