So Li Hao, the MC, saw his best friend got killed by this red ghost so he dropped out of his uni and join police to find the truth and get close to special department who handles supernatural cases, this is the beginning of all troubles.

At first I thought MC was this silly white sweet and naive person, but boy I got it wrong, he can promised you more than the garden of eden then cut you and laugh while you're bleeding, I guess that's the correct interpretation. He's a schemer, he makes you think that he was weak but actually strong. He was forced to be this two faced person after his bestfriend got killed, bcs he was the next target. So he tried to lay low in the beginning of the story, as the story progress he will show his true nature.

If you know me, I don't like novel with romance and thankfully this novel has no romance, and I hope it won't be in the future (bcs the raw is still ongoing, 100+ chapters). Allow me to remind you this novel has slightly fast pace, meaning that one arc is not as long as... lets say Lord of Mysteries.

And let me tell you guys, I checked on qidian cn website and it turned out this novel is on the top 10 list for new books, reading cn novels for so long, I'm a little proud of my vision ehe~

For people who like martial arts/supernatural story, go check this novel, it's a worth read. <<less

I really recommend to read WBMA first as SG has a lot of WBMA references (at the start),

characters (at the middle/end). Yup, Fang Ping is back :)

So, meet Li Hao - genius daoist. No System, no artefacts, just really intelligent and smart guy. Good guy, almost saint with a bit of a fake smile. His childhood friend died right before his eyes in quite mysterious circumstances and (small spoiler) his parents met their demise for the same reason too. So Li Hao is next on the list...

OK, if you had read previous novels, it's the same stuff -

same characters in different decorations. MCs are different, though. I have to give author props here.

First half of novel is not bad, latter part, well, I got a feeling that author got tired, so he copypasted stuff from previous novels. Still, it's worthy end (?) of a trilogy (?), author explains everything and patches some plot holes.

Pros (comparing with WBMA/TMC) :

• • Romance. I always wondered what author could tell in this regard and he did not fail to meet my expectations. Funny as expected :)

• • More focus on MC persona. First few volumes are concentrated on MC growth. Good stuff.

• • Cultivation system. Really sophisticated, although it looks simple at the beginning. No more spoilers :)

Cons (comparing with WBMA/TMC) :

• • Everything else

Scratch everything above. This novel was written just to confirm that Fang Ping got laid and Cang Mao is still the best (pet) :)

Long, boring, and excellent quality writing. The author is great but his writing is often uninteresting and irrelevant exposition. Reading this novel is like reading the synopsis: what is this and when will you show us the interesting parts?

This has great characters but is near directionless with far too much exposition. Thankfully not 'silly' and less inconsistent compared to WBMA.
