Clipse Twilight — the strongest Esper and Alpha at the Center — hails from the Twilight family, favored and protected by the Imperial Family.

Despite his exceptional power, Clipse suffers from persistently high toxin levels due to never having met a compatible Guide.

One evening, slipping away from the lavish “Silent Banquet” held after a grand banquet, Clipse encounters a mysterious person with only one red eye — the mark of imperial blood.

“Who are you?”

“I am Lan, the fourth prince of the Tielo Empire.”

The man who calls himself “Lan” claims to be the empire’s fourth prince.

From that moment, Clipse begins to uncover the hidden truths the royal family and the nobility have long kept buried…

It was a relatively short and sweet guideverse story in a setting where you simultaneously have castles and motorbikes. The first encounter of the leads was something out of a fairytale/historical romance story. There's a ball, an escape to a garden, a chance meeting, and a fateful discovery.

I think this had the potential of being a lengthier and more detailed story.

About Clipse and Lan --

It was cute how their existence sort of saved each other, ... more>>
Spoiler

with Lan being the only one who could properly guide Clipse, and circumstances involving Clipse led Lan to get out of the greenhouse, which is more of a prison.

[collapse]

However, given the length of this story, they get together pretty fast.
Spoiler

Like, being intimate on the second meeting due to classic omegaverse events. Also, after that, it felt like Clipse's personality just revolved around his dependency on Lan.

[collapse]

Not sure if it's just an impression I have, but I wished Clipse and Lan were more active in some parts of the story.
Spoiler

For example, Clipse could have personally schemed more to get Lan out of the palace. Rather than, him just being on the verge of a rampage a couple of times so his mom had to persuade the Emperor to let Lan out.

Sure, Clipse did rjde off to where the Routma are so Lan won't be returned after being "borrowed" for guiding services. But it felt rather childish? It was really sudden for Lan and could have been very dangerous.

Also in the beginning, we had Lan making those rose petals which worked like a guiding pill. It's a bit disappointing that aspect of Lan, where he's keen to research, never fully blossomed.

[collapse]

I found the current Empress an interesting character though. I like how she isn't antagonistic to Lan, unlike the usual clichés.

Ultimately, it wasn't bad to read. It concludes happily,
Spoiler

Lan is free, Clipse is no longer suffering from guiding issues, and they even get a kid.

Highly recommended for anyone wanting a quick read. The romance develops pretty quickly between the leads, leaving readers with hardly any room to breathe. It's pretty believable considering how short it is. It includes both omegaverse and guideverse elements and it's pretty nice how the story was able to really incorporate their elements into the story. Although if you think about it, special abilities (guideverse) and secondary gender (omegaverse) are both pretty much excuse to get the characters to have s*x.

The villain of the story also gets punished. There's really... more>> only one villain and it's not the monsters that espers fight.

Spoiler

It's Ran's s*erm donor, the creep who kidnapped and r*ped a beautiful alien and imprisoned the fruit of his s*xual assault because he was "jealous" that the alien he was obsessed with loved her child more. A villain through and through. I still wish he had been punished more painfully, but...

Surprisingly, unlike other guideverses where the fighting monsters element served as an afterthought, this story actually gave it a little bit of structure, with the monsters even having levels in order of sentiency.

The two leads are pretty likeable, but it would have been nice if they were more active participant in making their story move forward, instead of the side characters moving it for them, which was mostly what happened here. Maybe if it were a longer, more fleshed out story we could have had more active main characters, but alas. Still an entertaining read, highly recommended. <<less

Although the Novel is short, it however isn't lacking in story building and all unanswered information was revealed.

It's hard to read, purely in the fact that the MC has a hard life and the injustices makes your heart ache and stomach boil in anger.

Wich also leaves with a so much joy and happiness when he gets his happy ending.

... more>> This World was really fascinating and made me really curious to explore more of it.

Regards I don't feel unsatisfied after ready it. It's a solid story with interesting and compelling main characters and the cutest and bestest wolf/dog

I didn't think the story was that enjoyable. The premise was good but the author really sped through the second half, so it ended very deux-ex-machina-like. I really didn't think the villain got what he deserved

Spoiler

dude r*ped ML's mom and did a lot of other shitty things; he su*cided randomly at the end lol.

Also, his characterization would've been way more interesting or complex if the author had explained in more than two sentences what made him a great king.

You basically immediately forget that apparently he was a good ruler bc everyone who's around him, including the empress, are scared shitless of him.

[collapse]

The story ended without a lot of build up or payoff

Spoiler

the author could only come up with one reason to get the ML outside and it's always MC on verge of death; really boring, plus villain's motivations made zero sense after awhile.

Ther are many examples of some plot the author sets up but never carries out properly, such as when people tell Lan to defy the emperor, and he agrees, and the reader waits for that epiphany but it never happens.

[collapse]

Translation was mediocre, LLM/ChatGPT with no editing, every other chapter, ML's name would change. <<less
