Have you read Weird Live Broadcast? The setting to this novel is very similar, if not almost identical. If you have read it, did you think that the setting was intriguing? That the insane difficulty was thrilling, how every rule made sense, how satisfying it was when they fit into a larger puzzle, loved how the protagonist meticulously pieced together the full story in every instance?

Great! Here's the supremely shittier knock off version. Do the rules really have to make sense? Does there really need to be a reason behind... more>> them? Does there need to be logic and background in each instance? Does the difficulty scaling need to make sense and rise consistently to increase the sense of danger? Of course not! All we need is wish fulfilment, a roll of S-class labels, an eye-watering amount of nationalism, a pinch of explicit racism and a lot of bullsh*t to back us up!

I was disappointed in this novel; after reading other stories like 'I can see the fake rules of ghost stories' and Urban Legend Demolition Office, I'm a sucker for 'rule playing games'; especially when certain rules are fake, contain loopholes, and require deductive reasoning, because each rule exists for a reason. This setup is an insult to rule-games. There's no reason why certain actions lead to a game over, and the world building in each instance is lackluster. In addition, what this particular story is lacking is convincing character writing.

In the first chapter, our protagonist Chi Mu gains access to a System. This system will point out a fake rule once per rule set. He doesn't question this. He doesn't experiment. Four instances in, and I still don't know anything about the system, the world, anything. He's just a tool to move the plot forward. And the other characters are even worse. Racist cliches, disposable, s*upid, inherently cruel and bland are all words that come to mind.

The translation is good, and there is some creativity in the instance settings. The fast pace gives you a lot of settings and content for a short number of chapters, and there's no CP or relationship building which can undermine atmosphere in unlimited flow horror. That's mostly where my praise ends. <<less

Note to other commenter: you can change your rating by refreshing the page and clicking the star rating again.

I love survival game novels and it's particularly satisfying when you have a clever MC who outwits and breaks intricately crafted scenarios, unraveling a grand puzzle. This novel is not that.

The author seems to be far too s*upid/lazy for intricacy, effectively just mindlessly mashing together the worst CN webnovel tropes they can find (S-class golden finger cheat skill!!!!). No need to solve puzzles when you can just cheat and get the answers,... more>> then sledgehammer your way through any remaining obstacles.

Yes, nationalism is present here. I don't really mind it normally, but this author really has drunk the Kool-Aid. It's excessive to a sickening degree, and frankly it reeks of pandering. The author clearly wants to try and attract whatever readers he can, bloating this novel with whatever things he thinks is "popular" in order to distinguish himself from other mediocre slop. He's accomplished that in the wrong way by making this novel almost uniquely bad. <<less

This is so bad not only is protagonist racist but also homophobic too like the horror is mid. I swear people always have to awful like can never take break from it, oh I forgot in part of the novel they send one characters wife and child into a adult industry and make a joke of it also they stereotype like crazy. Also it’s weird like the protag is obsessed with their country like it can do no wrong which is false every country has done bad things. I would... more>> this a one I don’t know how to. So do not read this absolute shity garbage <<less
