This novel is about a genius composer who was once focused only on his career. In his past life, he created many hit songs, but he had no real friends in the entertainment industry. When a CEO took his own life after MC refused to compose a song for him, the public blamed MC. His career collapsed, and even the singers he helped abandoned him. At the same time, he neglected his family, only sending money while his deaf father suffered from pancreatic cancer and his sister struggled alone. When... more>> their father died, his sister cut ties with him, feeling that he only cared about himself.

Now, in his second life, MC wants to change everything. Instead of focusing only on his career, he will build real connections—with his family, a new trustworthy manager, and struggling singers. He will help artists who truly need support instead of just chasing fame. This story beautifully shows his growth, as he learns to balance success and relationships. I love how MC’s music changes people’s lives and how he finally understands that career and family can go together.

If you enjoy second-chance stories with redemption and emotional depth, this is worth reading! <<less

So quick summary of plot before actual review.

So MC is a VERY renowned composer, everyone wants his songs because his songs don't miss and always make the charts. MC has a younger sister and a deaf and mute father. MC loves his family very dearly, but kind of had a falling out because (we know way later in the story but aint that much of a spoiler), he started staying in his room and pretty much ignoring everything else (he was playing league, yep that league). After he moved out,... more>> he realizes he had this "touch" for composing music, where all his songs will become a money-making machine (they describe it like this, pretty weird but I digress). He started getting really rich and only cared about money. But he denied this one Idol agency's CEO for a song and that CEO's agency was going to go bankrupt or something, so then CEO commits die. Everyone blames MC, all his "friends" severs ties with him along with all the companies he's associated with. Which is pretty s*upid if you ask me, but media be like that especially considering how it is right now... Right after that MC gets news that his father is about to die from pancreatic cancer, and he didn't even know his father had because he only sent money to his family but never contacted them and get in touch. Afterwards, his sister cuts him off too, and when he's grieving at his father's grave, he regresses to when he's twenty.

This is a story of a crazy genius composer who returns to the past, and tries to right his wrongs in his past life. Instead of only thinking about money, he'll spend time with his family, making sure they live the life that they deserves. In his journey of doing that, he makes a lot of new relationships. Actual relationships based on trust and respect unlike his contractual and fake relationships in the past. Through those relationships, he experiences things that he has never experienced before. It is a smooth sailing, emotional, and fun journey of a talented eccentric man with no naming sense, who wants to make sure that he'll do the right things in this life.

Now to the Pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Mc's songs doing extremely well, always nice to see.
  • The character interactions are top tier.
  • The overall pacing isn't bad, except for some parts everything else were good.
  • The character development for a lot of the characters are very-well written and fun to see, one of them appears in liek the first 5 chapters.
  • So for a lot of mc's songs, they all have a story or message that it wants to convey. At times MC makes a song that shows the singer's journey and life story. At other times, he makes songs for the singer to sing a message to a person. For example, a lot of them had family problems, whether it's with their daughter, mother, or father, he makes a song for them so they can say their feelings and thought through a song. A lot of them are pretty emotional, and I can't lie I've cried at quite a bit of them (I think I cried like times throughout this novel).
  • Sometimes, there's a chapter about a random person who we might never see again. But those characters are always going through something such as family problems. But mc's songs encapsulates the things that they want to hear, the feelings that they're feeling. MC had this one nursery rhyme about a family that's missing a father, and a girl who's in the same position hears. I think you can envision what happens next. Those chapters shows the impact that music has on people.
  • MC has a lot of moments where he shows his undying love for his family. Those moments are very endearing because MC isn't social and doesn't show his emotions that much. It just goes to show how much he's trying to change. One of my favorite moments is where MC perform the song that he wrote with his father in mind while dancing the song out in sign language so his father could see it. I'm not going to say much but moment is truly cinema.
  • And don't worry there's some actual romance, very slow and late tho.
Cons:

  • Some parts are pretty dragged out. Imma list two of them here, one of them is pretty early on, MC goes on this idol survival game show as a judge, sht lasted like 30 whole chapters. They could've made it around 15 or 20. Another is way later, where he's in america, and there's this racist rapper, and he's like one of the only two real villains in the whole novel. I would've given this
  • Speaking of that racist, this whole part was a whole lot of nothing. It was unnecessary drama that didn't add any value to the story, except for maybe for thing that MC was prb going to do anyways. It was completely out of nowhere. And not even a con nor a nitpick, but I find it funny that the only relevant black person in series is named jamal, crazy choice. I'd bet that author search for "Popular American name for black people" or something.
  • Tiny complaint, they be mentioning how hot MC is too often. Like I love the parts where he reveals his face, but that when he reveals it. There's some build up so you know what's finna happen. Other times, it's just unnecessary.
  • MAJOR COMPLAINT, this sht made me stay up to like 7-10 am in the morning for like 4 days straight. It was bright enough that I didn't even need my lamp's light anymore. I blame this for killing my sleep schedule.
  • Some pretty unrealistic parts but I digress. for example, the company reading mc's email and actually listening to their songs. One of the guys was like "this guy clearly knows his stuff, he ask for the industry standard for the right to use their songs". Like I ain't know the music industry like that, but that seems wrong?
  • Mc's denseness knows no bounds, it's actually crazy. But it honesty makes sense, he's a pretty self-absorbed person. At school, he just slept and didn't even make friends. And in his past life, he never had a real relationship, so I guess he's forgiven (not).
Dam I think this is my longest pros and cons yet. Anywho, this novel is a decently well-written novel but the good parts really shine through. Trust me, if you like the showbiz novels and music, art or anything of the like, you would like this one. But man, I wish they can add "musical genius in the corner of the room" because that is one of my favorite music wns. Also watch out for when you get to Daniel's arc. Sht f-ed me up. Anyways, I'd have given this a 4 but there's quite a bit of one star ratings prb from people who read like 5 chaps and decide to stop. Also, the mtl stopped at 483, and that chapter had end in the title even it isn't the last chapter, there' still like 70 chapters left, so I'm not confidently they're going to update it. <<less

I generally agree with most of megumi-chan's points, but what I found particularly entertaining is that although his personality was bad in his previous life and he decided to do things over, he's still not social at all.

He's incredibly confident based on his previous success and experience to the point of basically ignoring everything else. If he just makes good music, it will be recognised either way. That does come off as rude from someone in his position as a rookie composer however, and so the people he works with... more>> have to decide whether to treat his behaviour as quirky and endearing or whether to treat him as an enemy and attempt at retribution for what they've perceived as affronts.

I'm looking forward to the further development of the characters and relationships in this continuing paradigm. <<less
