I unexpectedly transmigrated into a novel where both the male and female leads were strong characters with secret identities. I became the despised, wealthy but malicious supporting female character.

This supporting character liked the second male lead and grew envious of the female lead, so she schemed against the female lead in every possible way.

The female lead was vengeful and always sought revenge for any wrongs done to her, and the supporting character ultimately faced the consequences of her own actions.

I had originally planned to stay away from the characters in the story to avoid getting caught up in the plot.

However, I had forgotten that Lin Yang, the second male lead, was the supporting character’s neighbor. When I looked up, I met his bright eyes.

“My name is Lin Yang. What’s yours?”

And just like that, the plot started unexpectedly…

This is good but so many questions after reading this. FL (Yin Tao) being transmigrated villainess and Lin Yang (ML) who was OG 2nd ML. They were childhood friends. FL can't help but fell to ML but OG plot flow still remained to despite their own feelings.

Spoiler

It ended FL leaving and ML's late realization of his feelings... despite someone whispering in his mind that he should like OG FL.

[collapse]

For me, the main story ended in open ending. I find it more complex... I feel more sad on extras about FL's background story before transmigration. ML's POV on last chapter also didn't help on thirst for main story's ending.

Spoiler

Seemed like author/system pushing ML to like OG FL and even slowly erasing his memories after FL left. He wanted to remember her but he can't control it.

*Sigh* It's true that I wish for something different for the "I became the supporting female character and I fell in love with the character" trope but this one could have been the exception.

Spoiler

"Better be safe than sorry" against "Take the risk"

About the story, I can understand our MC for choosing the safest option, who would want to keep being hurt not knowing if the one you love will love another ?

Her personality is well written and I find her character very pessimist, she clearly loves the guy and he seems to be very affectionate toward her but rather than fighting for her love and trying, she rather leaves and limit the damages. It rational but also can be seen as cowardly.

[collapse]

In fact, I think there is no right option, the decision depends on the person capacity to feel remorse or not over their decision. If they felt peace of mind when they chose to let go of their painful love, then I think it's the right decision for them and that for both options.

That aside, I love the way the MC is pictured and how well her emotion are describing. The translation is well done. <<less

The last extra chapter broke me into pieces. TAT

Me crying is not on my wishlist when I decided to read this. The desperation at the end is just so heartbreaking for me.

Spoiler

Specifically, the repetitive chant of Yin Tao's name. TAT

[collapse]

I really don't like open ending as it left to imagination what could the ending be. While I hope they got together, I'm not entirely sure of that.

Anyway, I recommend if you want to be sad.

A good short story. But sadly it's not happily ever after for our FL and ML.

Spoiler

I feel sad for both Yin Tao and Lin Yang, they obviously cared for each other but due to FL past she is hesitant to fight for her love and due to some mysterious interference ML failed to say his feelings for FL and his memories of her were even being erased. The open ending just made it more sad, not knowing if they will ever be able to find each other again.

its sad...... Really really sad.... even ... more>>
Spoiler

though it's an open ending and even if that diary lin yang kept gave us hope that they will be together.... but it's scary how his diary was filled up.

Its scary how Yin Tao's past was like a fairy tail that told us happy ever after like Disney but it was actually Grimm brothers story.

It's scary how the world was controlled to the point that Lin Yang was slowly losing his memories and wasn't able to speak what he wanted to..

It's heartbreaking that Yin Tao's wish never came true neither did Lin yang's

(The last chapter was of Lin Yang not being who he was..... that that personality change was again scary + heartbreaking)

It shows what that world did to him...

I just hope in that open ending they found a way for themselves.

And I hope that chi yin tao's grandma can come out of her grief of losing her daughter

This story has no business being so short yet so utterly emotionally tragic 😭 I just wanted to read a short story and now my eyes are leaking 😔 If you read to the end of the main story, even if you skip the first two parts of extra 2, you should still read at least the final extra so that you get a glimpse into ML's inner thoughts and then you can join me in this pool of tears.

Spoiler

I could judge MC for not speaking up clearly about her feelings, but when I see ML's actions and his thoughts on how he acts, it's clear that the storyline does have some kind of extra force on him. So it's likely MC would just end up being even more hurt for having her expressed feelings run over by the power of the narrative and destiny. And that's just so sad 😭

There is no free will in this transmigration story. The leads develop feelings but despite that, they are controlled by the plot. One submits and gives way and the other fights just to have the author/plot slowly take away those memories.

Very well written and translated. Crying and numb now.

Re-read the last extra and I have a glimmer of hope.
Spoiler

After he repeats her name, forcing himself to remember, the next entry is like a beacon breaking through the fog. He remembers! I feel and hope that he can take the next step to locate her.

This novel isn't just a fictional tale — it’s an emotional storm. From the very first chapter, you’re pulled into a harsh world, into the life of a girl who never truly had a place to call home.

It’s not just about complicated love or a broken family — it’s about loss. About being the one who's never really chosen, not even by fate. It’s about loving someone in silence, giving them something meaningful, and then walking away without ever being seen.

What hurts the most is the struggle between destiny and... more>> the heart’s desire. When someone is pushed by the story’s plot to love another, even when their heart belongs elsewhere — to you. And as time slowly erases the memories, the pain doesn’t go away... it simply turns into a quiet kind of emptiness.

The ending leaves you speechless. You’ll find yourself staring at the last page, not knowing whether to cry or smile. Because somehow, it feels like you've lost something — even though, deep down, you knew you never truly had it to begin with.

If you’re planning to read this story, be ready. It won’t just leave a mark on your heart... it will linger — like a soft ache that refuses to fade. <<less
