Xu Zhou has a very smart cat.

He found the cat by accident, hiding in the garden mud in the rain, looking pretty pitiful. Xu Zhou, feeling soft-hearted, kidnapped the stray kitten and brought it home. After cleaning it up, he realized the cat had orange fur, green eyes, and a long tail, and it looked pretty cute. More importantly, the cat is super smart. It can open the water dispenser, pour its own cat food, flush the toilet, and even likes watching TV. When it’s bored, it even performs a backflip or two.

The top student in the school is Jiang Ling, the handsome and cool academic god. Xu Zhou has secretly liked him for a long time, and recently, he noticed that Jiang Ling started getting closer to him. Although Xu Zhou is completely confused about the situation, he’s still thrilled and bites the hook.

Xu Zhou, who has severe social anxiety, doesn’t really talk to anyone at school. Even though he’s so into Jiang Ling that just walking beside him for a bit makes him go home and spin in circles with his cat for an hour, he can’t say a word when standing in front of Jiang Ling. So, confessing gets dragged on and on.

But Jiang Ling is really nice. He brings Xu Zhou breakfast, teaches him how to solve problems, and even helps him overcome obstacles and make friends with other classmates. They’re so in sync that when Xu Zhou mumbles the food he wants to eat the night before while holding his cat, Jiang Ling brings it to him the next day.

After Xu Zhou repeatedly mumbles to his cat how great Jiang Ling is, and how much he likes him a hundred times, he finally gathers the courage one afternoon to stop Jiang Ling. “Can I invite you to my house? My cat can do a backflip.”
