While playing the game ‘The Regressor’s Way to Prevent the Destruction’, I fell into the game world as soon as I pressed the special event item.

I possessed Oswald Winchester, who, from the beginning, was ripped off by the regressor, kicked out of the academy, and ended up falling as a villain.

To confront the apocalypse and return to my original world, I must change the fate of the villain Oswald.

I wish I can like it. I have soft spot for novels that the MC reincarnated as a villain and having to start from rockbottom.

But it feels like reading a robot going through motion, there is no suspense, maybe it's because it's too early in the novel, but even from the start it's bland, and it can be cringe worthy sometime too. I had to skip one chapter completely because it was just MC defeating the Phantom Knight and it was just full of 'ARGHHHHHH' 'GEUUUUKKK' 'KAAAAAAARGHHHH' nonsense.

And it's full... more>> of info dump the author would tell you something cost 100 silver, which is 1 Gold, which is equal to (however much is it in won currency).

So it become something like 'He purchased (something) which cost him 1 Gold, equivalent to 100 silver, and (won currency) ' but make that for everything he bought. So it just repeating he bought this for (gold), (silver), (won), he also bought (thing) for (gold), (silver), (won). And he also bought (thing) for (gold), (silver), (won).

The author is also fond of info dumping unimportant thing, like he gave the worker 10 copper for extra service so she bought his foods upstairs, how much the food cost, and then he tip her another 10 copper. And then the author will describe his foods, how many dish there are, how the food is bland but the sauce is good, where he put his plate after eating...

You get the gist. Funnily enough the MC feels like a puppet rather than a character, and don't even mention other characters, because author don't have time to describe about them when he is busy describing about what foods the MC ate. It isn't even about food novel.

If you're out of novel, like, out of novel to read in this world, and an immortal thats too bored with life, you can try this. <<less

Holy Molly, this novel is fast paced.

Spoiler

Our MC gets kicked out of his family (after being expelled from the academy), finds an artifacts after digging at a certain place, meets a female lead, defeats a terrorist group on a train, attends a dungeon, defeats the dungeon's boss and attains another artifact... All in 9 chapters.

[collapse]

Basically the MC reincarnated as a notorious character that was already suspended from the academy and disowned by his father. Before being kicked out, his mother (who still loves him) hands him some supplies and a Winchester for his departure.

The MC lacks magic, and relies on using a Winchester along with his agility. The system is very OP; it grants him points that he can invest in a variety of stats.

Spoiler

Literally during a fight, there was conveniently a skill he could invest his points in that could teach him Bayonet Basics. To make up for close combat during a train battle with terrorists. Which I thought was random and out of nowhere.

In addition to stats that could allow him to see through smokebombs, and affect his composure / mentality / calm demeanor in situations.

IMO, I feel like this is unnecessary. And I'd rather the MC have character growth, rather than invest in stats that do it for him and change his attitude instantaneously.

[collapse]

Tbh, I feel like the MC has no personality. He hasn't really had a proper interaction after his departure. His mind is filled with thoughts of getting stronger by obtaining artifacts and becoming a mercenary.

Within the 9 chapters I've read so far... The only interesting parts were the battle sections, and even then the MC swiftly defeats his opponents.

Spoiler

There is one instance where he gets hit by a fireball. But because his endurance was lvl 20, he only sustained bruises and wasn't really harmed.

[collapse]

And now... There are some parts that confuse me... (Spoilers)

Spoiler

1. The MC encounters a female civilian on a train, and intuitively guesses that she's a terrorist hiding her identity and immediately shoots her. There's no reason as to why he did this, it was based off of feeling.

2. The father sends a spy to check on our MC for being suspicious (even though all he did was pack his stuff and leave), even though he sees the MC as an unredeemable person and banished him from the family for his incompetence.

3. The Heroine talks with some higher up in the Academy (forgot if it was the principal) to lift the MC's suspension. Thinking she "misunderstood" the MC, and believed he changed when he helped her defeat the terrorists on the train... Like, the MC explicitly told her that he never wants to meet her again and gave her the cold shoulder. Why are you all of a sudden considerate to someone who just conveniently helped you in battle, and conveyed a rude attitude to you?

[collapse]

All in all, despite its flaws, I've decided to turn my brain off and enjoy the ride. I mean, it's kinda badass how the MC is the only person that uses a Winchester when his opponents use magic. <<less
