I'm giving this novel an undeserving 5 stars because the it's even less deserving of the current 3.6 star rating.

As a novel, it's a solid 4 stars - it's entertaining enough to keep your attention with the shortfalls falling thoroughly in the weak characterisation and storytelling, though this might be due to the translations themselves. I understood where the author was going with the themes of equality & feminism but wasn't convinced by the clunky execution.

Considering the readers of this type of genre are romantics, this type of seemingly scummy ML is hard to palate. He does redeem himself in the later part of the novel with a long and grovelling chasing wife to the crematorium phase, but for many readers in the comments, he was unreconcilable.

Personally, what I found most aggrevating was the unedited MTL quality of the translations. I don't mind when sometimes pronouns get mixed on other novel sites, but here names, positions and cities changed from chapter to chapter. It didn't help the world building when descriptions of the whole lore was excruitating enough to fry your brain.

Overall, if you want to know whether to read this, my answer is a resounding YES! But if you're sensitive to MTL or your preference in MLs are clean and falls heavily hard and fast, then stay well away. <<less

It is actually really fun. I love both the FL and Ml. Do not let the review before stop you.

The FL pretended to be a weak pretty dance girl who fell hopelessly for the ML but she is truly the mist nonchalant person in the entire novel.

I read this because its my most anticipated upcoming cdrama as some of my fav actors coming in as the main cast so I wanted to get an idea of the storyline as it's based off this novel (I can already tell some things will be very different and that's okay)

I rated it 3 star as in the beginning I did not care so much for the ML but he eventually grew on me, the storyline got much better a bit later and kept me wanting to read more.... more>> Unfortunately about the half way point things went a bit more downhill, losing my interest and just getting frustrated they couldn't communicate properly (I personally despise miscommunication tropes)

I was a bit disappointed that some things the author mentions that could've led to a really interesting or even cool storyline got completely brushed away and never really mentioned again (small example: the mls power and again near the end when it talks about his change)

All in all, I believe it was a good story and am excited to see how and what the drama decides to keep the same and change from this novel! <<less

This was very close to being a five star read for me.

I loved the characters and their struggles in life and romance. The MC was smart and tough. I loved her story and personality.

The ML was a fitting companion for her though it took some time for him to grow up enough to be worthy of her.

I think the reason it was not quite five star is that the MC seemed to overcome hardship and impress people too easily.
