I understand that it's way too early to be able to give this a proper review, but even so, I'm going to do so anyway. As a matter of fact, I actually quite like the setup, but that title is just such a turnoff, and also the main reason I felt the need to make such an early review. I just can't get behind him forgiving her. Hopefully that's all it is though. If he gets back together with her, I'll be severely disappointed.

Well, to be honest my rating is closer to 3, but I decided to give it a 4 because of the netorare downvoting. In summary, for a "Oh no, my gf cheated on me, woe is me" novel is somewhat okay.

It is nothing great in any aspect. The saving point is that there is some development in what concerns to the feelings of the MC, even if done in a somewhat lackluster way.

The cheating:

Spoiler

The cheating is that the gf, was unfilfilled because the MC wouldn't show his weakness in front of her, so one day she saw one poor loser who was dumped by his childhood friend. And the gf (who is somewhat excused in the story because she is a good person who cannot leave others suffering alone) goes with the guy for a while, let him held her hand as if she were his childhood friend and the guy kisses her one time, she is annoyed by this but does not reject it and considers it a parting gift for the guy. She lies about what she did on that day, and as is described how she blocks his number, we know she got his contact details for some reason.

[collapse]

Is pretty clear it was a mistake and would be a one time thing.

The forgiving:

Spoiler

MC's parents divorced because his father cheated. There are two important things that this caused in regard to his feelings. That are present throught the story but barely touched upon to resolve them by bits in some chapters

1. He felt the need to act strong and hide his feelings because his mother was totally devastated and his sister was also affected strongly. So he decided to hide to avoid showint weakness.

2. He considers cheating a terrible and hideous act, but still loved his father, and still liked his ex-gf as a person. He feel conflictes not being able to accept these apparently opposing feelings.

So at the end of the story seeing his ex-gf being so regretful (and saving his sister from being run over by a car getting somewhat but not severely hurt). He decides to get over those conflicting feelings, which also made him unable to start another relationship. Recognizing he had a hand in it by not being truthful with her, by putting a facade and accepting this was something that just happened and both had to get over to continue with their lives.

From what I get, even if the ex still loved him, the MC had no intention whatsoever of getting back with her at the end of the story.

[collapse]

I like that the story is believable. The MC is a good guy, but has his faults and growth. The other characters are almost non-existant they just have their role to play, the other girls who like begin to like the MC have proper reasons, maybe a little exaggerated, and the POVs are somewhat unnecessary, some give nice details, but others feel like a repetition. <<less

Wow -most of the reviews of this novel other than Rapapap's are really unnecessarily harsh, and in some respects, inaccurate.

First, this is a typical, vanilla-style NTR novel - this does not mean the FMC has s*x with another person while dating the MC, but there is a clear betrayal. Thus, I strongly disagree with GreenRiver above. There is no question what happened is cheating; just because you find it minimal or tolerable in view of the FMC's character, which is the "naive, manipulable" type prototypical of the NTR genre (I... more>> sure as sh!t wouldn't), that is not how the genre goes - it is a betrayal with all the ramifications expected therefrom.

Second, Touch-san's review doesn't make sense if you read the whole story - the MC never really "forgives" the FMC. At best

Spoiler

when the FMC saves his sister's life and ends up in the hospital for it, he agrees not to hate her and move past what happened, but does not agree to take her back.

Generally, I agree with Rapapap's review (especially the second spoiler), who does a good job capturing some of the character development, except for the statement "would be a one time thing." Again, that is not how these characters go in the NTR genre - she displayed a gullible and easily manipulable character; the implication is that maybe this could happen again, as happens in other novels of this type. <<less

Short version, the cheating wasn't really cheating, and if she had explained clearly the story would have ended 20 chapters sooner. She's a dangerous mix of kind, s*upid, and overly self-accountable. Instead of clearing up the misunderstanding, she basically slanders herself. It's a poor plot, but it's also a good first attempt for the author.

Spoiler

She was being nice to a boy who just got dumped, and briefly played the role of a pretend girlfriend, which included a kiss. This is incredibly s*upid, but it's good enough for a light novel plot.

The story goes round and round, and eventually he forgives his Ex. She then yells "I will do my best to make you fall in love with me again!".

If you're looking for a short story with average plot, then this is a good one. The characters are built decently good for a 27 chapters novel, and the plot is good too. The ending might not satisfy some readers, but to me, I was satisfied with it. This really has the potential to be a long web novel if written carefully. The first time I want a harem ending in a school life like this.
