First hat tip to the translator, this was very well done and exceptionally readable. There were some minor inconsistencies but overall it was a fine read and the prose flowed very well.

The source material was another story. The fight scenes shine except for the choice of weapon. No spoiler here the MC's weapon is an arrow. (That's right 1 arrow (If you look at the cover that arrow doesn't know if it wants to be an arrow or a spear)). It just doesn't make much sense. Even so the combat... more>> is good fun and very readable. There is also the feeling of the code of the martial artist that comes through.

Everything else not so much. The plot was exceptionally predictable and I pretty much predicted it in the comments from the start to the finish. The hook of the story really didn't work. The MC had to be incredibly s*upid, but is portrayed as insanely capable. It just doesn't parse. There are the usual Wuxia insane villains.

Overall it feels like the author was just cranking this out as formula. <<less
