In his search for a salvation cure, he leaped from a cliff. He expected to be shattered into pieces on the wasteland, but instead, he fell into a warm embrace.
When he woke up, an off-road vehicle had just crushed the skull of a high-level zombie. From the driver’s seat, a young man radiating hostility turned around. The moment his eyes met Lin Zhou’s, he suppressed all his mu*derous intent and smiled, revealing two sweet, soft dimples.
“Brother, you’re finally awake?”
Lin Zhou stared calmly at that seemingly harmless, smiling face. He thought: *If my entire family hadn’t died in the viral surge, I might have actually believed him.*
But he soon discovered a more critical fact: Feng Xiao was immune to the virus. He was the perfect sample Lin Zhou had been dreaming of.
What Lin Zhou didn’t know, however, was that Feng Xiao had never approached him because of a case of mistaken identity. Feng Xiao feigned innocence, acted pitiful, and called him “brother,” all to drag the high-and-mighty Lin Zhou step-by-step into a cage of total obsession.
Only those in the Raider camp knew that the “Asura” who trod upon mountains of corpses and seas of blood would, after slaughtering his way through half the wasteland, bury his face aggrievedly in the crook of Lin Zhou’s neck:
“Brother, the monsters outside are so scary. I scraped the skin on my hand, I need you to blow on it.”
Lin Zhou looked at the wound, which was about to heal if he waited one more second, and fell into a deep silence.
Later, the highest-level isolation door of the laboratory was tightly shut. Lin Zhou was pressed against the cold lab table with nowhere to retreat. The “innocent puppy” before him tore off his disguise. While slowly unbuttoning Lin Zhou’s white coat, he seriously discussed the contents he had learned from old-world books:
“Brother, the book says this part should be done like this… right?”
The next morning, Lin Zhou supported his aching waist and looked at his recorded “Feng Xiao’s Physical Limit Report.” He gritted his teeth:
“Why on earth did I ever think… this was a harmless dog?!”
