I can't really understand the MC and idk if it's bad writing or if it's because of that damn amnesia! He basically remembers very little wich makes the story fall a bit flat for 2 reasons: the world and himself. The world falls flat. Right after waking up the MC remembers nothing, wich is totally fair. But then after getting to safety, although he remembers his family, knows that he was a student and stuff, we don't really get nothing about the aberrants and stuff! Like I get that he's a normal person and he probably does not know that much about it but everyone in this world knows about it! I don't know how he remembers what he studied in university so well but doesn't know a lick abt aberrants, the monsters that live in his world. Ok but maybe let's say every information that the general public knows abt the aberrants were all told to him by the internet and the ml, then why do you not know that you can't harm an eagle from the eagle organization? That's like taking a gun from a cop, if I had amnesia I would probably remember that I cannot do that, bc amnesia does not eliminate all memories. Even if this is a story I know all his memories are not wiped because he remembered his family... Ok, ignoring that, then why not tell me under what organization he was being protected? The mls organization offers exclusive protection (if you're being protected by that organization, you cant call another organization) , so I think it would be logical that others do too, so you were under what organization? If they told us this and explained why he or his family made the choice in picking organizations, it would tell us what the general public thinks about different organizations, what is said about them, or maybe it could tell us that maybe he made some bad decision in the organization that he picked. Like, he remembers stuff but nothing that's supernatural wich makes it feel like he's from another world and I really dislike it. But I understand that he needs to be cluelessly so the reader can be clueless with him and we can learn together, but he could know some stuff imo and bc he was the general public, we would know what the general public knows so the world would feel more 3d.

And the MC himself. Tbh since I read a chapter every chance it's out I can't really explain this point. In some cases the MC has weird actions and outlooks on things but this is actually fine and I think it's going to be explained.

Oh and I want to say that even though MC is a little weird and shows little emotion on some stuff, he's one of those MCs where the author describes over and over that they have no emotions (and they always end up having emotions even when the author is saying they don't have it), so that they look cool and mysterious and sigma and strong! Yhaa I hate that. But I don't think it's done here, so nice.

I like the premise, I like the world, still feeling the MC and ML but I really like this world so 4 stars right now.

So due to some events, Zhao Ran had met Yu An when he was a kid and had decided to stay with him until he reaches adulthood so that they can form a master/familiar contract. The master/familiar contracts are not always romantic or sexual, as there are people who form contracts for pure power purposes in the story.

Bluntly, I don't think g*ooming would have been possible in this scenario because Yu An is genuinely abnormal from a young age. Even as a kid he's obsessed with Zhao Ran, to the point that he casually and immediately stabbed his own left eye out with a pen when he found out he needed to be physically impaired to form a contract with Zhao Ran. Zhao Ran on the other hand, is an eldritch horror monster. He doesn't know human customs since he's essentially Cthulhu but it's very much shown in the story that should Yu An not have wanted a romantic relationship, Zhao Ran would have been fine with a platonic contract (in a sense, he would be very unhappy but he wouldn't force it). If you're worried however, nothing below the belt ever happens when Yu An is young.

So during the story we get hints of a New World vs Old World conflict, which basically both sides are eyeing each other for profit, safety, exploring the unknown etc. After the big climactic battle of Yu An and Zhao Ran, we immediately get another battle and then the story just kind of peters out to them being together forever and that's it, happy ending for all. I don't think there could have been a good way to explore the fact that New World and Old World are on the edge of having problems with each other when the story is nearing its end, but I do wish that it had a bit more spotlight before the story ended.

That said I just wanna say Ji Nan and Yu An ver. 2 have so much shipping potential, I know Yu An and Zhao Ran are obsessed with each other but! They! Would! Have! Been! So! Good!!!! Together!!!!!!
