A couple of things to note, the author is not very professional with his work. He brings (bigotry) social perspective into the sh*t show.
This review extends to around 90 chapters.

It doesn't seem the main character is being given enough of a foundation (personality, depth, etc...) during these chapters. Hence, I feel the character development won't be very strong in the long run.

Currently, at 90 chps we are only getting into Norma (judgement academy arc). So take this with a grain of salt, but the world background (imagery and descriptions) aren't very present. This leads to a lack of immersive understanding with the fictional setting of the story.

Additionally, the story dev during the dawn academy intro arc has no semblance of cohesion. There is neither a main focus plot-wise nor a quality of writing that can supplement this issue. Simply put, it felt like the author just threw in a bunch of random sh*t he could think of into this intro arc.

Finally, my biggest issue with this story. The writing is racially charged.
At the beginning, the novel felt like it was taking steady steps and developing according to the situation. This was until the judgement academy arc is introduced, specifically, "americans".
At first, I thought perhaps the author wanted to pull of a "the world and people are more complex than labels" type of sub-topic. Since this is a common (minor) theme I see in some of the novels I've read. However, as I continue to read, I have come to the conclusion, after the deliberation of 80+ chapters of hearing phrases such as "he spoke with half-baked Chinese", that the author merely wants to communicate his inherent social displeasure with Americans.

However, I feel I should make it clear that I wouldn't even give a sh*t of hi*ler became an accomplished webnovel author, as long as his writing doesn't ruin the f*cking hit of immersion.

I'm a pretty neutral person, however, this f*cking writing is ruining my immersion with the story. It's like the author is building up a beautiful sand castle while violently stabbing it with a knife every couple seconds of construction.

I'm here for the escapism of novels, for the adventure and thrill of the journey, for the feels.
I'm not here to feel the filth and garbage of the real world, if I wanted that, I'd go downtown and watch the masses of homeless dudes shooting up heroin from dirty needles while they slowly freeze to death outside rows of abandoned and boarded up buildings.

Looking at other reviews, this novel only seems to get worse from this point on (deviating from character to world development completely is unacceptable for me) (and among other reasons to note). I'm going to drop this novel and call this author "the author that could have been", and this novel "the novel that never was".

Okay...

This is 5 stars (5 stars = recommend to most people, not that its perfect) for until a few chapters before 700. (Novel is 714 chapters). The last chapters being why I lowered it. I was very close to just giving it one star but I will try to be fair.

Overall Novel (These aren't actually spoilers just would be too long as it is) :

Spoiler

It has nice interactions between characters, overall no character (s) are overly "arrogant" or the like- In fact most of the characters are amazing. I like the MC and their "relationship" with their romantic interest (?) quite a lot. All the plot-lines are pretty well interconnected, no glaring issues I saw. There is a bigoted tone sometimes I guess, but its less of the normal chinese hates all other countries for some reason, and actually related to the plot where it makes sense, and the author does a pretty good job alluding to danger in the future. (This point is both good in that it made it fun to read to the built up, but also makes the ending SUCK SO MUCH)

[collapse]

For the MC themselves: (once again no spoilers)

Spoiler

A main character in a chinese novel with a not psychopathic character, but also not an idiot. Immediately makes the MC pretty good. MC shows actually growth despite their SS talent, to be fair his talent is just increased growth speed, but the MC manages to not feel like they are cheating constantly. Although the MC is obviously known to have something about them, they are never in a protagonist halo. Once again, I like his relationship with the female interest (?). Overall he is actually a genuine character which is nice.

[collapse]

The. s*upid. Ending. (Actually Spoilers) :

Spoiler

Okay, relatively early on the story it is shown that there seems to be signs of war starting. Which the MC is understandably not very thrilled about, and often through the novel you see the MC do certain actions with that into account (It's never actually in direct response, but it's mentioned every so often whenever the MC thoughts are shown, which make sense he can only do what he can when he can).

As the plot goes on these signs get more and more obvious, whilst new plot lines start (Russian SS Guy I can't spell foretells world ending and Asabanor, a native high priest, wishes re establish his lost kingdom) and they all become interconnected with this "War" that vividly is coming closer and closer, once again the author did well with this sense of an impending event where as the world expands everything points to this one war. Combined the female interests terminal "illness" that seems to become less and less likely to cure, it's a pretty good build up.

Everything accumulates to where the new dean (old one gets attacked and is bed ridden) sells out the MC to Asabanor, sh*t happens (Asabanor nearly summons Earth so he can claim it as his new kingdom) and the MC is stuck in the wormhole to stop him, old dean sacrifices himself to get him out. This is basically the OH sh*t moment before the climax right?

Then when the MC gets out it turns out he is wanted by the academy and his friends are stuck at the academy "safe" and is helped by one of the teachers who left, it's revealed that the new dean had declared war on a kingdom 2 of the other academies back.

MC is basically alone and desperate and the war has actually started - this is clearly the climax arc right?

NOPE. In <14 chapters, the MC and teacher go to some russian dude, get a godly artifact and are directed to a dungeon, where the MC meets "god" which is him, and they decide to use his shards of creation and the god to f*cking delete any connection New World and Earth had, no wormholes, no academy. As the current situation (a loop made by the god to try and get a better ending) keeps failing... THE END.

That's it. Every major plot-line is f*cking cut off abruptly with no conclusion other than "It all go erased and never happens". Furthermore, how is that a better solution. Your not even girlfriend which only starting to outwardly reveal they liked you like 20 chapters ago doesn't even f*cking exist anymore since one of their parents was from New World. f*ck the fact a bunch of build up is basically thrown right back at the reader from this, I liked the MC relationship with the female lead too much and the ending just ruins that for me.

[collapse]

Anyway, simply put. A pretty well written novel (web novel standards) which has great build up and a few strong intersecting plot lines to keep your interest which f*cking decides to abruptly end less then 20 chapters after the trigger of the climax (which was like 500 chapters minimum coming), ruining and abruptly ending about 600 chapters worth of plot points.

Other notes:

Review by Sarabheswaran aka Sai, is pretty accurate. Characters are great. f*ck the MC (well more the author since this would be out of character completely, with how much he cares for his friends) for his last choice. Would note that I usually read novels with the expectation of some general problems (plot holes, some things that should be more thoroughly explained and the opposite) and unless they are absolutely plot breaking I do not care. <<less

Made an account just to write a review for this novel. Currently at chapter 626 and got frustrated enough to see if other people had the same thoughts, and although quite a few people are tr*shing this novel, nothing quite describes how I feel about it, so figured I'd give it a mention. Although, again, I suppose if you're on this page you probably won't be reading it.

First 100~ or so chapters of this novel are great, and very interesting, but the further the plot goes the more complicated and... more>> convoluted it gets, diving into elements of time travel and destiny, which is cool and very interesting when done well, which it isn't, but that isn't the core issue I have with this novel.

The problem is that the novel works in Dawn Academy, which is an Academy which can also be considered an army bootcamp training new recruits. Okay, cool. Dawn Academy has a big political hoo-ha going on in the background. Okay, great. MC is dragged in, again, whatever, that's fine. The problem is that the upper echeclon all realize that the MC is a SS talent holder, or something similar, but despite that still treat him like absolute garbage. Again, fine if they want to make him an enemy, but they don't. Their entire logic is, you have talent, but you aren't powerful yet, so we don't give a shit, you can talk when you're strong. Your value isn't in your smarts/views/understandings, your only value is in your future surving our Academy, and you aren't there yet so we can treat you like a dog, because even after you grow up you'll still be our dog even if we get f*cked at that point in time.

Okay, that's fair and understandable. But the problem is that the entire f*cking premise that every character operates on is that the MC will still stay with Dawn Academy after they grow, no matter how much sh*t they put him through, and the MC doesn't doubt that for a second. Not for a moment is there a question of, "Oh, what if this highly sought after talent decides to defect to another school?" or, "What if he turns around and kills all of us after he grows?" Especially considering that there is a predicint with a previous SS talent holder. They just treat him like sh*t on repeat and he just takes the L.

Same thing in the chapter I'm quitting on. One of his superiors/sort of friends pretty much admits that she doesn't really care if he/his love interest dies, her objective is Dawn Academy's prosperity, and if they die in the process so be it. Which is cold, and again fair under the premise that the Academy operates as an army. But the problem is an Army needs loyalty and these are students who have been mistreated and essentially kidnapped. They have no reason to be loyal to the Academy other then the fact it's their alma mater, which again hasn't really been pushed. The entire philosophy is if you're strong you can get rich and powerful and everything you want, so study hard! And the MC doesn't stop for a moment to say, "if she f*cking dies I will raze this place to the ground" or think it, he just says, "yep, makes sense, sentence us to death for your meaningless power struggles, I'm down."

That aside, the same thing applies for the MC's loyalty, he treats these people who give him the tiniest shreds of kindness as if he owes them his life and servitude for a thousand years. The two main cases being the Dean, who just gets him resources for his talent upgrade, and Song Junlang, who uses him as an experimental material but gives him some helpful (plot armor) powerups along the way. Again, both of them are decent characters who treat him well, but it's also because they have something to gain from him. While trust is later slowly established, the loyalty and trust he has is unnatural and fabricated. But, I suppose all of this is acceptable under the premise that the character is an otaku and somewhat reasonably jumps at these shreds of kindness.

Of course, all of this can be explained away by "patriotism wahooo" of course he wouldn't give up the Academy that's his nationality. But I feel like that's s*upid on a lot of levels. Ignoring the problems with nationalism and patriotism on their own, the other problem is that while the character is subconciously racist/discrimnatory quite a lot, they aren't actually established to be patriotic or loyal. They're just 'allegedly' a normal dude who gets essentially conscripted, and takes sh*t for no reason.

Alright, I'm done ranting. I'm quitting the novel here after seeing the reviews about the ending. I was wondering how they managed to end the novel in the next 100 chapters considering the MC is still only at Bronze rank out of the Iron/Bronze/Silver/Gold/Epic/Legend/God ranking we've seen thus far. <<less

This is pretty s*upid story. The plot, as in the general outline and idea of the story is actually pretty decent but that's where it ends basically.

Biggest issues I have in this story are the 'inhuman' characters. Not inhumane as in unnecessary cruel or anything silly like that, but more so like incredibly staged and s*upid. Robotic. Preset set of actions. Many of the characters and institutions (even the main character) just do things that human beings wouldn't do, stuff that isn't good for them, their goals or even logical.... more>> You just can't paint things like giving up your life for a school test as normal and logical if you're basing the world building around our very own earth, at least you can't in the circumstances it was written. That's not even mentioning things that HAPPEN to them that are not logical, which they don't question. None of the characters basically have any kind of even slightly complicated or more abstract thoughts.

Second issue I have is the authors inability to write scene sequencing. As in when somethings happening currently and then moving onto the second thing that starts to happen. It's just so choppy that it makes my face wince. Parts of the story are incredibly convoluted and filler-rich I should say, yet many important parts are basically just quarter of an paragraph. It's like going 100mph then slowing down to 5mph and immediately going to 200mph, completely erratic pacing.

I really don't know how to rate this. On one hand it has bunch of good things like the idea of the plot and translation, those are both of excellent quality. On the other hand its really shabbily executed and leaves me very unsatisfied. Maybe I'll give this is a three. Feels slightly bit more than it deserves though.

e- Just had to edit after finishing this. WORST ending possible, absolutely f*cking sh*t book. I'll take back my previous score, this get 1/5. <<less

Honestly although the ending is rushed. I hope the author is okay, he has done so well in the world building and character progression that I will give him a 5 star review to try and get this rating up.

If you have reached the end you will agree that this story had so much potential and something must have happened to the author.

I give 2 stars thanks for short chapters and some effort taken for the conclusion and not letting this work go unfinished.

The author seems to have picked up a less popular sub trope, drafted a single progession of events only involving MC, created awesome characters (really good ones, the reason I stayed) to host it, put them along with myraid of plot holes and uses short chapters, and less information about the new world to escape from his responsibility of giving us a satisfiable wholesome experience.
I dont think it has racism. The author aptly described the nature of the people from our planet. If u try to point at new world characters, they are different species duh. If u can recall correctly, u wont say the colonizers are hypocrites. They have the need for self survival.

Characters :really lovable, one of the 2 reasons why I stayed till the end (the other is the short chapters)

Story: has tons of plot holes and plot armour with fast progression. But the plot holes can be ignorable due to feeble information about the hybrid technology of Earth and Norma. But when you reach the last 20 chs, u will get irritated due to the sheer ignorance of the author at important events like the stuff main characters did to escape after their fight.
Writing : mediocre, every 30 chs or so MC goes theough some event that is like filler but has one strand of experience that he uses later. This oftens accopanies with info dump

Take this sopiler and be happy that I saved yr time. I atleast loved all the characters, but I really hate the weak willed MC for thw last ch. F*ck. He gains time traved power but decides to let it all go without trying to embrace the left overs of both civilizations. F*ck. No legend level powers of both human magic tech and new world magic were given their due workings and procedures. Legend level in new world means dragon like powers that can be both auxilary magic (transportation through space, resurrwction towers, virtual reality tech for war practices) like effects of smart phones in Earth or a destructive magic similar to effects of nuclear bombs in Eartg. If even legend level powers were ignored I dont need to explain god level powers like time travel. F*ck.

No pros and nothing but cons to this story.

This is a story written probably by some communist kid from China as many things display the concepts of their ruling method. Forget about rights, they just kidnap people and force them to an academy where their lives are pretty much worthless. Then they sugar coat it as every person's dream to live in a fantasy world where the survival rates are horrible.

Now to the story at hand. This story is pretty much a knock off concept of World of Warcraft game... more>> and their story line. There are no creativity whatsoever. Everything is very mundane.

Read with frustration as the MC is as much a ret*rd as the wannabe writer. With all the cheats, the guy could've have power level to level 100 if level 100 is the max.

If you don't know WOW, look it up. If you know it, then many familiar terms will freshen up your memory to many of the iconic story line of the game. Too bad there's too much racism that makes the story turned into worst than garbage. Some garbage are recyclable but this one is like you need to send it to the incinerator. <<less

My bad for not looking up ratings beforehand. I was aware that this was junk food, but I needed some filler before I could find a more interesting series to read. Nevertheless, I kinda regret giving this one a try.

For all the negativity about racism and nationalism, I think the author did it in a semi-interesting manner. The concept of colonizing a new space for resources and manpower gives rise to a context in which racism is highly possible. An academy for training soldiers as well, gives a context for... more>> nationalistic brainwashing (although the academy didn't really go down that path in my opinion). I think, different from your run-of-the-mill fill-the-word-count Chinese webnovel author, this was done well.

However, I just can't stand s*upid characters. The longer I read, the more frustrated I became. The characters in this novel selectively forget crucial information. They were suicidally attacked, what 3 times in the simulated tests? Yet they fail to consider that as an option. You can also see plot armor beginning to form quite thickly throughout the story. For example:

Spoiler

The main character is going to a hot place with someone who can use fire spells! He somehow gains fire resistance.

[collapse]

Even though context was given for the elements written by the author, it was also not my cup of tea. I was put off by it, because it is blatant racism and nationalistic superiority. The main character becomes quite hypocritical as well, though in his context it would make sense, but to me, I would not like to read about something like that. <<less

It is worth reading. Unlike what other reviews say, there is character development. It's so foolish to claim that there isn't when you've only read 90 chapters... how embarrassing. One review said the MC became "loud, rash, arrogant" after 100 chapters and I am still dumbfounded in my attempt to decipher what he is talking about.

The MC is smart, hard-working, and kind yet ruthless to enemies (typical). However, the school arc is fleshed out and very entertaining, and so are the other characters. MC has special talent, but isn't OP,... more>> but he slowly does become more and more powerful. Good fighting and action scenes, very interesting arcs, worth reading.

Solid 4/5, but giving it a 5/5 because it most definitely deserves better than NU is giving it. <<less

While a bit slow, this is the one of the few Qidian (Webnovel) translations released over the past year which I feel like is going to be good. The world building is quite interesting and promising so far. Sort of a mix of Magic academy + Avatar (the movie) in which students are trained to colonize a new planet with magical powers. I will give it 4/5 stars upto c80 and the rating may change later.

For RPG game fans, this novel felt like Mass Effect 3 all over again.

You invest your time to follow the characters in the whole series and suddenly Baam...

Story could have been good, BUT...

    1. Cultivation ranks was pretty much blurred. So it leaves a bad taste, coz I think whatever development that MC had, in the end he could fight very high ranked opponent or he performed very badly against 'what supposed to be' easy opponent (like first year students academy). MC had bad starter but for God's sake, he got 3 creator shards + dragon bloods + vampires blood essence. Any 1 of that supposed to get him equal attributes which he lacked in the beginning, but HELL NO, even with his SS grade talent, he had to use 'Myth' his 3rd state to secure victory. He had way too many advantage but the Author just downplayed it
    1. I'm at 665 out of 714,... more>> in the middle of tournament. By the way it is, I can guess that the ending will be really bad :/, coz at this point of time, every battle took like 1-2 chapters to finish. Furthermore the MC still only a first year students
        1. Monthly assessments was absurd, I mean in rewards part. 1000 point is needed for lowest grade life-water potion, but 1000 point is already the perfect score's reward (minimum grade S evaluation). And almost all monthly assessment, was hell difficulty for the first year. I don't think anyone in the right mind would do something like that
        1. I will learn 20 different sword style, MC said in the past. Just prior the tournament, everyone using Bronze and Silver rank move/ spell, while the MC still use Black Irons!!! (ofc with the effect of Bronze, but still...). Yeah, this was the dumbest MC (shitty Author!). His attributes total to 320 (Bronze stat requirement was 300). I believe every other participants in tournament should all still be in Black Iron rank, but many uses Silver rank spell wtf! I remembered, it was easy to get point while u still has lower stat, at black iron (100 total stat), 1 stat was equal 2-3 days training (Author said that for grade A and S talent student). If everyone can get to black iron at 3 months after enrollment, one will get 15 stats per month at best. 3 months = 45 stats or 9 months = 135 stats. I'm not really sure when this tournament took place, but even the longest 9 months, the best student will have max 235 stats, compare that to 320 stats that MC had! MC should trample everyone in the first year with his 'miracle' state alone!
        1. Feels sad that Author ruin his/her own work. Alas, what can I say. I'll just continue reading till the end and see what's going on
      After complete reading:

      Spoiler

Something must happened so the story was cut. Not sure why some authors like to make it this way at the end of story. NTLDR, it's good in the beginning and story building, getting crappy toward the end. And also outrageously bad ending. Better not reading at all

The start to middle of the story is interesting the abrubt changes in the latter parts is too fast that his leveling is really useless. The ending have no preparation at all like I expect to have a sense of the ending but I felt none. I always want an ending that I felt bad that it will end but it is too fast that I didnt even know why it ended.

For me it has a foundation for a world building. The story says how vast planet norma but only... more>> explored a little bit.

Spoiler

It has tag of weak to strong but the strong part is only time skipped by storytelling. Like the plot twist in the end does not make me curious. Im more curious how or what kind of battle he experienced, what did he feel when he saw the important people die, the things that really invoke emotion for the reason why the novel will end.

I read pretty far into it and MC isn’t too op and the story was ok but didn’t have that much impact. The world build was very interesting with diff powers and the mindset of a invader and the MC learning and improving in the school and classes was kinda like harypotter. The main question is why this even translated at all. The story got axed and the ending was rushed at ch 714.
Spoiler

MC was just beginning to master his cheat ability and enmassing power in the military. The tournament arch was also cut short. Basically the MC turned into a regular smuck and had to leave his lover and all the fantasy stuff to save the world bs. It had lots of interesting sub story plots that will never come to light and was overall unsatisfying

This is an interesting magical world colonization series. It started off exciting with strategy, interesting training methods, battle, a special leveling system, and so forth. The MC wasn't fleshed out, but at least his personality was interesting as he worked as the weakest person accepted to the school. I was enjoyed this series and looked forward to its updates.

However, the quality dropped DRAMATICALLY around chapter 100. The MC no longer has the calm, smart, and hardworking personality from before. Instead, he's randomly become rash, loud, arrogant, and demeaning. Instead of... more>> being accepting like he was toward the variety of students he joined the academy with, he now sees all immigrants and descendants of immigrants as "traitors, " and he's incredibly vocal about this. Americans are portrayed as s*upid and undisciplined, and the one soldier who disobeys basic etiquette has yet to be court-martialed. Worse than that, the MC, who has suddenly become so hotheaded, loudly proclaims he attacked the American colony by his choice on his own and takes responsibility for it when it was something beyond his control! Like, what the hell? There's been some pointless drama thrown into the mix as well.

The writing has outrageous statements like "only traitors will dress in flashy clothing" (traitors = native people as if they could choose where they were born or to which parents) and other nonsense.

It feels like the writer has been replaced, and the MC was replaced with a stereotypical nationalistic, racist Chinese MC along with him/her. If this doesn't improve and go back to the original quality, I'm going to drop the series altogether. <<less

The rating on this one is difficult. Let's start with the plot first this time. It is choppy, entire chapters could be summarized into paragraphs if the author wanted to keep it the way it is. What the author really needed to do was to keep the villain ambitious and constantly moving giving no rest nor time to the MC. Suddenly, it's a lot less choppy and the story is action-packed. I didn't finish the novel nor will I but there a two separate plot lines and I wish we... more>> could have seen how they were really one threat all this time. However, just based on the foreshadowing I think this is impossible. The foreshadowing is quite obnoxious in the sense it's not a shadow and its own mini sun.
Spoiler

There seems to be a minor romance subplot but I didn't read too much to see where that is going. Nor is it in the tags or themes so...? Maybe he just cares about only this one specific girl? IDK it's hard to look into it so few details are given.

The characters are... weird? Especially the MC, oh dear god. This novel is about cool people doing cool things but it's just... the MC is barely/episodically schizophrenic or at least he acts like it. This is clearly not an intentional character design.
Spoiler

At this point, I think he had 3 episodes? He mainly acts out of character when it comes to some girl who is just a smart rock with a name tag. At this point, she has little impact on the story but she will for sure have more impact.

[collapse]
The other characters are just rocks with name tags on them but I don't mind, I am reading this for adventure, not romance/drama. As mentioned before, the characters just barely harm the story's potential so it's nothing to think about.

The world-building seems minimal. Where do I start... The world is not 'explored'? It's just... I really don't know how to say this... I wish it was minimal. The 'foreshadowing' makes it clear what will happen so the world-building, on a technical level, is insane and unique. It's just that until that point I wish that there were only three or four settings that existed and we would know about them instead of maybe the 10~15 there are that we know about and only see mentioned or are explored just once?
Spoiler

One set would be the school on earth for all the explorers with their own special city. Maybe they are all the same just in different parts of the world. The other two/three would be just when they are confronting the villain and then never explored again. Like that minimal only one setting that's ever consistent. The other settings get destroyed in the process, that literally happens.

Yeah, 3 stars seem a bit too little but it's fair enough. 3.2 <<less

Progression Novel with litrpg elements:

Underrated series ~4.3 would be appropriate, the problem people have with this series is that it does not match their moral code.

This is a story about training invaders and exploding the wealth of the invaded world. If you are triggered by "fish people are a s*upid and inferior race" better skip this series.

While the character has a cheat that allows him to grow quickly, he is not Marie Sue character. He does fail and while strong needs to plan to win with little Deus ex machina... more>> moments.

Not sure what the translators are doing though, they are for example constantly getting numbers wrong. <<less

Had a fun time with the series, imertion was there, the rasicm is not as bad as User Depressia says, lack of details is a bit true though, not knowing how our MC and the world is portrayed, but the story still rolls with it fine and it's still full of adventures anc challange for the MC
