“Poor Boy X Little Prince: Reunion and Reconciliation Healing Sweet Story”

Yu Yue is a little prince. At the age of sixteen, he went to a barbecue shop outside of school with his classmates. There, he saw a boy working, dressed in black, with slightly long hair tied behind his head. His features were unbelievably attractive.

Yu Yue quietly asked someone who he was, and they told him that the person’s name was Xu Yuanzhe. After getting to know Xu Yuanzhe, Yu Yue has been enduring a tough life. His birthdays weren’t celebrated by celebrities, and his tiny 40-square-meter house was in a terrible state. The bathroom light was never fixed, and the windows never closed properly. Yu Yue thought he would eventually run away from Xu Yuanzhe. But he didn’t. He only grew to love Xu Yuanzhe more.

Until one day, Yu Yue felt like Xu Yuanzhe suddenly didn’t love him anymore.

Xu Yuanzhe was a poor boy who worked part-time at the barbecue shop outside of school. When he saw Yu Yue coming to eat at the shop, he fell in love at first sight. But Yu Yue was the star among stars. At the age of eighteen, Xu Yuanzhe, without fear, secretly loved Yu Yue for two years. After Yu Yue came of age, he finally won over the little prince.

Xu Yuanzhe held Yu Yue in the palm of his hand and wanted to give him the life of a prince that he had once lived. But Xu Yuanzhe realized that he had nothing. He worked tirelessly at multiple jobs but could only afford a small house for Yu Yue. He could only buy a regular cake for Yu Yue on his birthday and deal with the constantly malfunctioning bathroom light.

Even though Yu Yue never complained, Xu Yuanzhe regretted his decisions one after another. Finally, one day, Yu Yue asked for a breakup and completely disappeared from Xu Yuanzhe’s life.

In that moment, Xu Yuanzhe finally understood what true regret meant.

Since there aren’t any reviews yet, I’m going to leave one! :))

It’s a good breakup story, just what I was looking for. Not some kind dog blood drama or tragic bawling-your-eyes-out-because-everyone-makes-bad-decisions-and-suffers drama, it will hurt you just right. If you ever feel like moistening your eyeballs, this is the one. 🤙

Not so spoiler spoilers

Plot wise, hmm... It’s a good one so it’s not actually like one of those flat misunderstandings; wherein the MC walks into ML “talking shit” about him and then proceeds to dump him or “run away.” In this case, their misunderstanding had substance, it was more than just miscommunication. They were in a difficult time in their lives and they were too young to believe in themselves and to believe that they could make their relationship work. (With distance and time, however, they finally grew the fortitude to love, to be rightfully loved, and to shed tears for the love that passed! : D) This does have a few back and forth, present then past moments, a few chapters long every time. But the flashbacks add flesh to the story and gives out details that we won’t see in the present, so definitely not unnecessary and definitely not a skip.

It’s the first time I encountered a main character’s parents that aren’t divorced, dead, or perfect and in love. His parents are... flawed, but they kept the marriage even until the end. Anyways, back to the lead characters! MC and ML aren’t “dumb” they’re not the type of characters you agonize over because they continuously make bad decisions that keep ruining their lives in the name of feelings. Sure, you could consider them a bit ignorant, but it was believable and not contrived. If you were in the situation they were in, regardless of the different actions you’d take, you would still find that their feelings and thoughts were understandable.

This isn’t some kind of super deep novel wherein you need your brain to dissect layers of complexities but nor is it too flat. I think it’s pretty straight forward. Basically, it delivered all that it was planning to deliver. I just wished we had some extras. <<less

I haven't read much second-chance stories but I think this one was pretty good.

56 chapters was a good length for this novel. Although I would've also loved to read some extras, I think the story didn't leave any loose ends and was also fine the way it was. The story had a clear flow and things came together naturally.
Spoiler

Both the MC&ML matured in their own way and eventually got back together. Personally, I feel like if they communicated properly and didn't make assumptions about each other, they would've never broken up. However, the MC also recognized this and realized that back then if they weren't so "stubborn" in their own way of love, they probably wouldn't have lost 5 years of being tgtr.

The story had a good flow and it had a melancholic feel throughout the story. I think what might've made it nice to have extras was to see more progress into the MC&ML's relationship. Although they got back together in the end, the last few chapters were only in their "just got back together" phase.

One thing I wish the author did differently was that instead of focusing so much on flashbacks, she could've written it as if the readers and characters were actually in that point of time. Although the flashbacks did help us understand the MC&ML more, I felt like the emotional tug would've been stronger if we were actually in that timeline.

It was a good second chance story but I cannot say it captivated me much. Would like to read more about their time after the reunion too.

Beautiful and moving. I'm sad that there aren't extras. I wanted to see more of them being happy together after all that angst 🥹

The conflict and entanglement between them was also very realistic, really hits close to home. And I feel that the author managed to portray it well and also find a good resolution for it.
