One night, Oscar picked up the key to a safe he had once desperately searched for. The person who came with it became a living key was a woman, extraordinary in every aspect. Her tearful eyes, naive actions, even her name and appearance. The woman was oddly irritating. He was even displeased at having to ponder how to describe that irritation. So, he wanted to temporarily put it out of sight, in a place where it couldn’t be seen.

“I… want to be by your side.”

It was too ridiculous to be sincere, and far too pathetic to be temptation.

Therefore, the one who was ensnared was undoubtedly an idiot.

Even when subjected to all kinds of insults, the woman approached until the end. On those small, soft palms, which knew no calluses, Oscar von Reinhardt was played with.

So, I must hold you accountable.

To you, who never had sincerity, not even for a single moment.

Until the very end…

To you, who even hid your name from me,

I will hold you accountable, very cruelly.

Oscar von Reinhardt – The head of the Reinhardt dukedom, with black curly hair and blue eyes. He owns the railway that crosses the Norfolk continent and the largest steel company on the continent. He is willing to do anything for his goals, even if it means kissing the back his enemy’s hand. He has brought his ruined family back to prominence through extreme efficiency. Therefore, he spurns himself for falling for the wiles of such ridiculous seduction, nor can he forgive the woman who made him feel this way.

Han Seo Ah – A mixed-race individual with brown hair and brown eyes. She has been an outsider from the moment she formed her first memory. Her appearance stands out, to the point she is suspicious of her birth. The starting point of her sin was when she came into existence. Therefore, she wishes to atone for all her wrongdoings; to her grandfather, and to that man whose mere presence makes her heart flutter.

An absolute gem. I am quite baffled why the rating seems so low for this novel here... hence I had the urge to write a review. Somehow this is my first review too in this site despite being a lurker here for years.

I came across this novel by chance while I just browsing through, and the cover really caught my eye since the art is so pretty... So I gave it a shot. And wow. This is definitely going into my top 10 when it comes to the mature romance... more>> genre - Heck, dare I say even in my top 5? I binge this in like two days, up to the side stories that author had recently added. I am already having withdrawal symptoms. Seriously, it's really good... it's one of those novels that has the potential where I may re-read again later.

Our main couple, Han Seo-ah and Oscar. I think I'll be thinking about them for awhile...a Joseon FL x Western ML is such a unique concept and that intrigued me a lot when I was reading through the early chapters.

The author's writing is also top-notch, especially when it comes to the scenes that would delve into the main couple's feelings for one another. It really helped too since they had made it really seem natural how each became each other's solace on the later chapters. The author also did a great job with the worldbuilding. Some readers might find the amount of detail overwhelming, but personally, I found the setting really interesting and wanted to learn more about it.

Our FL, Han Seo-ah. I absolutely adore her with how charming she is, despite having such deep wounds due to her past. You would think she's gonna be your weak FL with how soft-spoken she seems to be (there's a legit reason for this too), but she is actually a very tenacious person, especially when she has a goal and the situation calls for it. That trait of hers in particular will save ML more than once and earn the respect and devotion of the other characters around her; and those scenes, in my opinion, are the main pivotal points why this novel turned out so good. Like no wonder ML fell so deep lol.

If you're reading this after seeing the manhwa adaptation, I highly recommend reading the novel first. In most novels I've read that get adapted, it’s often the case where the manhwa wouldn’t be able to fully bring out the characters’ inner thoughts and the tension that makes their relationship so compelling to read (not that it never happens in adaptations, but just very rare imo). <<less

Probably this story has become one of my favorite light novels. It was so good since the beginning to the end.

I personally didn't find hard to read the first chapters because I was so invested in the story since the beginning with that mystery ambience that there is in the first chapters, so I was very thrilled to know what was going on.

Some warning for some people... there is dubious consent at first but for me it's fine, but maybe for others is triggering.

Also I don't understand why there is... more>> a transmigration tag but forget it.

I really loved the MCs characters and the wolves, also the villains are very realistic and with a satisfying ending.

I would have loved that this story had some side stories but, the ending was good anyway.

100/10 I highly recommend this story! <<less

MASTERPIECE RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!

First & foremost, I am so happy I came across this novel & will be the first to review it as well. Secondly, I am scared but also intrigued by the transmigration tag.

I was debating whether should I write a long review or a short one. Long because I have so much to say about this masterpiece & short because I don't want to give too much of the story so that the readers get to enjoy it themselves.

I had a hard time reading the first few chapters because... more>> of so much information & details. But it was all worth it. Only after going through that ordeal, I realised what a gem of a story this novel is gonna be. Please be patient & read the starting chapters calmly because it forms the base for the whole story. I had to re-read many paragraphs to understand the flow of the story better.

Also, the description is the Best. I like both the leads & I am pretty sure I am going to love them in the future. Waiting till good amount of chapters are piled up. Then, I'll read this again from the start.

I hope the translations continue & everyone gives this story a chance. It's truly worth it. Thank you for the translations & also for bringing this masterpiece into my life. I greatly appreciate the hardwork.

Edit: I keep coming back to check if there's been any update. I am obsessed with this novel😭😭🫶 <<less

Loving the novel so far, I love how the leads (even the male lead). I wasn’t going to pick this one thinking the FL is going to be like all the others typical FL not in a bad way. Just that I was on a binging streak and it was getting repetitive, and wanted something new.

So glad I picked it up but even with all the chapters I can’t read past chapter 75-ish, says the link isn’t available?? Hope someone knows what wrong since this has so much potential and... more>> such a good read so far.

Before anyone get into it (just a lil heads-up from my perspective) the male lead may not suit everyone taste nor the female leads of course but try reading it a bit more first and I’m actually starting to like the male lead. He rlly peaks my interest of how he came the way he is, and for the female lead just love her, she’s very fresh, that’s the only word I can think of to describe her.

P.S btw if someone know what’s up with the link please help a fellow reader out ^^ <<less

Hands down one of the best. Please read this! Not a single chapter is written in vain. All the characters are interesting, and the villains work hard to piss you off.

You know how, in rofan novels, the ML usually starts liking the FL because of something she does or how useful she is to him? Well, not in this one. The FL is inherently lovable just by being herself. The ML isn’t afflicted with a curse, doesn’t need the FL, yet they still fall in love, and that always makes... more>> their romance more appealing to me.

The FL doesn’t try to act cute and isn’t a “snow bunny” with a “magic V****a” who captures the ML. She isn’t a damsel in distress. She shows off her unique abilities and is strong willed when needed.

The ML has the potential to become a huge red flag, but funnily enough, he gets deflated by the FL’s small, unintentional actions and keeps himself in check. He’s wounded, but he isn’t evil by nature. He’s a yandere who can spiral into chaos, but the FL is exactly the right kind of person for him.

The wolves (the ML’s sidekicks) are an interesting bunch. Each one has a unique quirkiness and grows alongside our main couple.

The story follows our FL, who is traveling west in search of her grandfather’s remains. She brings a key that’s important to the ML and intends to use him to retrieve her grandfather. They each carry their own past wounds, and eventually, they become each other’s heaven.

The author has so much talent, describing emotions in such vivid detail that you feel them. I have never felt ticklish just from reading a description of a feeling until this story. <<less
