Please use proper spacing and paragraphs. As the sixth prince of the Dajing Dynasty, Xiao Jiye had galloped across the battlefield at sixteen, taking the field and killing enemies. For three years, he guarded the frontier, becoming the undefeated God of War General in the hearts of the border people.
An imperial edict was sent to the frontier at breakneck speed, and Xiao Jiye returned to court alone, carrying a body full of wounds and illness.
The reigning emperor was swayed by treacherous ministers. Afraid that Xiao Jiye’s achievements were so great they would overshadow his sovereign, he issued an edict ordering him to marry Shi Sui, the idle young dandy hated by everyone in the capital. The intent to humiliate him was obvious.
Relying on Xiao Jiye’s severe injuries, Shi Sui actually tried every possible way to degrade him. For a full half year, the wounds on Xiao Jiye’s body never healed.
It was only when war broke out at the border that Xiao Jiye was finally able to receive orders to head to the frontier and put down the unrest.
After the new emperor ascended the throne, he became even more wary of Xiao Jiye. At the fiercest point of the fighting, he actually cut off the grain and fodder from the rear. Countless frontier soldiers and common people were killed or wounded, and Xiao Jiye could bear it no longer. He led his troops in rebellion.
After killing the new emperor and taking the throne, the first thing Xiao Jiye did was kill Shi Sui and feed his corpse to the dogs.
Shi Sui, who had stayed up all night reading the entire book: So satisfying!
That was, if he could ignore the fact that he shared the exact same name as the dandy in the book.
Unexpectedly, the very next day, Shi Sui transmigrated into the book, becoming that universally hated dandy who had been forced to marry Xiao Jiye.
When he transmigrated, the original Shi Sui was just about to slap the male lead hard across the face. Shi Sui remembered the scene in the book where his corpse was fed to the dogs, and his body jolted violently. The slap was forcibly turned into a caress. Shi Sui struggled to calm himself down, then, after a long while, squeezed out one sentence: “Husband, do you need me to serve you in bed?”
Unable to return, Shi Sui carefully stayed by Xiao Jiye’s side and took care of him in order to save his own life. All he was waiting for was the day Xiao Jiye returned to the frontier, so he could keep his life and find some place to live in seclusion.
When the day Xiao Jiye was to return to the frontier finally arrived, Shi Sui took the bundle and silver he had prepared long ago and slipped away. Yet before he could even leave Beidu City, he was blocked at the city gate by Xiao Jiye, who should have already gone far away.
Xiao Jiye, who had always been calm and self-possessed, had bloodshot eyes at that moment. He scooped up the still-dazed Shi Sui, spurred his horse, and galloped out of the city.
After racing all the way to the depths of a bamboo grove, Xiao Jiye pinned him down hard on a bamboo bed. His voice was hoarse and low. “Wasn’t my wife going to serve me in bed? How is this place?”
Shi Sui finally came back to his senses and cursed wildly in his heart. Holy f*cking shit. Out in the open like this, Xiao Jiye wasn’t planning to do him right here, was he?
Xiao Jiye, who was kissing him carefully beside his ear, answered him with action.
The guards watching from afar waited for a full two hours before they finally saw their general come out with his wife wrapped airtight in his cloak.
The next day, Shi Sui woke amid aching waist and back pain, feeling himself held in someone’s arms. He lifted his head slightly and saw Xiao Jiye looking gentle as he murmured by his ear, “I should never have left Suisui alone at home.”
After arriving at the frontier and witnessing the suffering lives of the common people, Shi Sui decided to stay and defend home and country.
When the court cut off the front line’s grain supply, he led the border people in using modern techniques to grow grain, ensuring that the soldiers and frontier citizens would have no worries over food and fodder.
