Lee Seonbaek, or 'pion' if you prefer, is our protagonist, I love her, she's so squishy. But to get a bit deeper, she's not as normal as she perceives herself to be. And that's really interesting to me since it's rare for a protagonist to be just as obsessive as those who pursue them.

My assessment of her isn't immediately obvious, the abnormal traits she displays aren't easily observed when she lays around doing nothing as she so enjoys. But when the action kicks in and her crisis response starts... more>> to show, that's when you realize, 'oh?? Oh my gosh?? She's insane??'

Her moniker [The Silent Calamity] is deserved, as for every move she makes all those who cross her realize that that being of catastrophic power is something they never should have opposed, but of course their regrets are always to late

As for the [Silent] part of her title, hmm how do I put it. Well people often fail to realize that amongst snakes, rattlesnakes could be called the kindest, because they give you a warning before they strike. So Lee Seonbaek is the opposite, she hides any warning signs of when she will strike. <<less

2/5 (3 without the 20 last chapters bc the end is downright shameful)

It's fine, but really not amazing. The debut was promising, and I had a hundred theories about what was going to happen. Whether those things happened or not, the fact remains : the way the story flowed felt way too fast, and to me, butchered (just my personal opinion).

For example :

– Since it's a reverse harem, I was expecting romance, but the romantic development is really lacking. We go from "mysterious calamity" to "shy girl" and... more>> "sort-of lover" way too quickly. Even the first kisses weren't that special :

one was basically feeding medicine, another was to clear a quest, and the third was to receive a reward. None of them felt romantic, and none had any real build-up. And yes, it was the only kisses of the novel.

For me, romance needs tension, progressive development, and emotional moments. Here, everything felt comedic rather than dramatic, so I never felt sadness, tension, or even a blush. And can we truly call that a true harem with that end ???

they didn't even confess to her ; she hasn't agreed to be their girlfriend and we just have a freaking open end without resolution

- The plot : I expected a lot : hunter progression, constellation development, monster mysteries, deeper immersion into the hunter/constellation world... and I was honestly disappointed. We simply do not focuses on all of it and there'snt much fight. We only focuses a little on their grades but way to fastly. It's not just the MC who progresses too quickly ; everyone progresses extremely fast

like a guy we don't know who goes from rank F to rank S in a matter of weeks just for plot convenience...

– The characters themselves : They felt too black-and-white, either completely good or completely bad. Overall I didn't feel much complexity in their depiction. Even the Administrator, who was the most mysterious, ends up mostly being portrayed as someone who likes the MC, which made him feel kind of bland and useless in the end.

They just didn't leave a strong impact ; they felt more like props revolving around the MC.

– As for the MC : The MC feels like a walking deus ex machina, with complexity at the start then frustration, notably for ->

the fact that she learned to speak in front of people so quickly when she couldn't in her previous two lives and has a big trauma related to it.
