In a room in a certain hospital, a young life was on the verge of fading away. His name was Hikaru Tendou. He had lost his parents in a fire at the age of five and had been living in a facility since then.

After leaving the facility at the age of 18, he had worked in a subcontractor factory, but the harsh working conditions had taken a toll on his health, leading to hospitalization after just two years.

And today, a little past the age of 20, he was about to breathe his last in a solitary hospital room…

It's a mid novel. The evolution is a bit quick pace as the evolution is very rushed, too powerful and less thought within each evolution. The biggest problem is the evolution monster is that it's very inconsistent with it's idea of evolution.
Spoiler

the idea of evolution should be growing and adaptation of the strongest version of X. We went from a moss to plant, which make sense but then went from plant to a bug then to a cat. Really inconsistent which is a shame cause I love evolution novels especially stuff like the world devouring serpent or the Evolving space alien. While I have only read 29 chapter of this novel, I just can't say I want to continue anymore

[collapse]

If there's one lesson to make evolution novel, is that the evolution should make sense otherwise it become a digimon wanna be.

Decent. Like most such novels, it glosses over events and interactions, but still provides enough detail that it doesn't feel like reading a bullet point list.

My main issue is something I noticed later; it begins to read like a non-edited MTL. Genders get flipped, as do character names, and skill names become inconsistent even within the sames chapter. For example, Thunder Aura has about six alternate names like Thunder Armor, while Miniaturization is Dwarfism half the time.
