Cecil Rheinett, the daughter of the Earl Family with silver hair and ruby eyes.

She always gave a cold impression to people, but a lot of people were attracted by her beautiful appearance and her personality, and because of that she was popular among the social circles. This person had a twin little sister.

The little sister had peculiar black hair and conspicuous glasses.

She had a very cute face, but her body was weak since she was little. Therefore, she did not have the chance to be in social circles many times. She became an introverted person and had no friends.

That person hated her elder sister who was popular in the social circles but was being talked from the back (that was what she thought).

Her elder sister was just a stimulus for her complex.

And the one who comforted the little sister was the fiancé of the elder sister, Michael Milohite, and her real mother.

(Sorry if my english is bad, it is not my first language)

It was a little difficult to find the raws of the novel because it wasn't on the same site as ever, but I managed to find it and, oh boy, I am furious.

So furious that I am actually writing a review, a thing that I have never done before.

... more>> Warning:

I am just going to say that I prefer Gloria over Cecil, so this review could be much harsher than what it deserves, take it as a grain of salt. And I used some of the parts of the "detailed" part to vent, I tried to be impartial, but I don't think I have managed to do it. If you want to read my thoughts then you have my thanks because it took me more than 5 hours to write this.

Before I start to vent I will just summarize why it is not good.

In short, the novel is cliche, the only unique thing it got was the chapters with the little sister's POV, the MC is not likable, really inconsistent and s*upid OP, the sister gets dumber because plot demands it and her retribution is out of proportion, seriously, I will just say that what she did not make her deserve what happened to her, she did dumb stuff, yes, but what happens to her at the ending is so heinous, so horrible, so disgusting, that made me livid. The other characters... exists, they don't appear often, and if they do, what they say or do is not much, nothing that really adds to their character tbh, like the great majority is just Cecil doing what every "villainess" do in every story, you know, work with papers, going to parties, being the center of attention of men, etc...

If you want a no brain story, about a OP 14 or 16 year old girl and how all her friends and family complete massacre her little twin sister with her not raising a finger to help her, then yeah, read it, it is an easy read, and a way to kill time. If you are searching for more, then don't bother.

Now, the detailed reason of why I didn't like this story (sorry for the essay) :

If you start reading and by seeing Gloria's POV you think "Wow!, that is actually relatable, it makes sense she is like that, I feel sorry for her, maybe this story will make the two opposite sisters learn about each other struggles and then come to an understanding and be happy together" drop it, like seriously, drop it, it will save you time, and effort, it will save you being as mad as me.

Lets start with the premise:

Cecil is the daughter of an Earl, she beautiful and intelligent, have perfect manners, etc..., the thing that caught my attention was that she doesn't have the best personality, she is nasty with her words, looks down at her sister and is really short tempered when it comes to her sister, she excuses this behavior because she doesn't like weak people.

Then we have Gloria, the fraternal twin little sister, she was sick all her life, it seems she actually got healthy 3 years ago, but because she was always on home and never attended a social gathering she became really introverted and the times she always attends everyone compares her to Cecil, so it made her hate socializing. She actually believes the malicious rumors the no named jealous noble girls say and, since Cecil is never home and in the only instances in which they talk Cecil is pretty hostile with Gloria, it somewhat makes sense to her believing them.

s*upid? Yes, but given the circumstances, it makes sense.

In the beginning, the author actually gave some points to Gloria, she didn't felt so one dimensional like "OG Protagonist" that she suffers and in the end receives love, because we have her point of view and her actions have actual consequences, the people of that world are not s*upid puppets that doesn't matter how the "OG Protagonist" acts she will always be loved. Not only that, at first, Gloria had moments when she felt bad because she was jealous of her sister, and that she shouldn't desire what her sister have, so when Michael

I thought she would have to fight an internal conflict against what she wants and what is correct, sadly, my hopes and dreams were destroyed.

Now, lets compare both girls at the start of the story:

Cecil Advantages:

Spoiler
  • Beautiful, silver hair, ruby eyes.
  • Confident.
  • Extremely intelligent, top student of the advanced class, she even tops the crown prince.
  • The fathers love.
  • The servants love.
  • Many friends, male and female.
  • Friends with influential people, like the crown prince, the second prince of another country, some other nobles.
  • Runs a clothing store, and some other shops.
  • Because of this she is extremely rich, as in she is rich, not family money.
  • A extremely loyal do- I mean, servant, that absolutely adores her. (Is the ML)
  • Even with her "bad" personality she won't face any repercussions.
    [collapse]

Gloria Advantages:

Spoiler
  • Her mothers love.
  • The "excuse" that she feels sick.
  • That is all.
  • That is really all.
  • Nothing more.
    [collapse]

Now lets put the disadvantages they have:

Cecil Disadvantages:

Spoiler
  • The jealously of the unnamed noble girls that don't even have the guts to tell her malicious things on her face.
  • "Malicious rumors" that no one believes because they go to parties and know how Cecil acted.
  • Her little sister believing those rumors plus her mother saying how Cecil "stole" her health for years, making her painting her sister in a bad light and actually believe her sister is a bad person.
  • Her powerless mother doesn't like her because she feels she "stole" Gloria's health.
  • A s*upid fiance.
  • When she breaks the engagement some men go after her but she is saved almost immediately or she resolves it herself.
  • Her pain because she is an aristocrat and she can't marry her butler, her first love.
    [collapse]
Gloria Disadvantages:

Spoiler
  • "Dull" appearance, she covers her eyes with long bangs, as a result, we don't know the color of her eyes, and that she wears glasses.
  • Introverted.
  • Suffers inferiority complex.
  • Lack on information on the outside world.
  • Dumb, below average of the general classes.
  • Her father's indifference, borderline hate.
  • The servants hate.
  • Her sister's scorn.
  • Zero friends, the only contact she have like something like that is Michael, the fiance of her sister, and this guy is actually the one that ruins her life.
  • The ridicule she suffers often when she is in any social gathering, in every instance she is forced to talk to people outside of the house she gets completely humiliated, and only gains the disdain of the aristocrats present.
  • Every instance in which she says she is sick is often seen as her "acting spoiled", and "making excuses", because she didn't have a fever in three years. Last I checked, fever is not the only sickness, but okay.
  • Cecil misinterprets everything her sister says in the worst way possible, there is no benefit of the doubt, even though she knows that Gloria is socially inept so her words are really not as harsh as she believe they are.
  • Mother feeling so guilty about her sickness that pampered so much that she is unable to affront problems.
  • Mother is the only 100% person on her side, and she is a woman with absolutely no power that was kicked of the house in the beginning of the story.
  • No money, the clothes she uses are old, and not as good at her sister's, resulting in her looking more dull in comparison.
  • Her personal maid doesn't like her either.
  • The s*upid fiance of the MC kissed her in public ruining her reputation and good name.

As you can see, there is an extreme power imbalance here, usually, when we read this villainess stories the "evil protagonist" have everyone's love, so giving the "villainess" things like money, power, etc... helps her to defeat her. For me it still imbalanced, but that is the idea. Here? Gloria doesn't even have that, in fact, she is really harmless (at least 2/3 of the story Gloria was harmless), and, if Cecil and her father actually cared, she wouldn't have turned out how she turned in the end.

The father:

Spoiler

He is a man that work is the only thing he do, so the education was the job of the mother, which is why he says that by the time he noticed that the mother didn't teach Gloria anything, it was too late.

The guy absolutely doesn't care about Gloria nor he respects her, we can see this on chapter 6:

"I bet that doesn't know anything about it (...) "

The word that referred to Gloria. Judging (...).

"I need to find a fiance for that person soon"

As you can see, he doesn't see her as a person, just a thing, the s*upid daughter he has to raise, and that it seems there is almost zero contact with her, we know this because on chapter 8 we have Gloria's POV, and she says:

It was the first time I was being called on Father's office, although Father sometimes called sister to his office, he never called me to come to his office before. I know. A person like me had no business with Father. Unlike me, my eldest sister was more beautiful and useful. However, I was still sad, since it made me think that I was not loved by Father.

This was the first time Father called me to his office and I was really happy. I was soaring from the bottom of my heart...

In all the story you will see that he treats Cecil great and Gloria... not that great, and honestly, it makes sense, Cecil is not only intelligent and useful, she is a great daughter that obeys him, in contrast, the s*upid, useless and disobedient daughter is someone he doesn't want to deal with.

He notices that Gloria doesn't have a fiance, so he tells her to choose one of the options if she doesn't choose she will go to the monastery, because he refuses to take care of her forever, and that "aristocrats don't marry for love" (Take note, this is important). The rank of the options are lesser than their own, but they are intelligent and good men that are pretty wealthy and could do a good connection. The thing is, he never tells Gloria this, so Gloria thinks that he arranged "unremarked" men because she isn't as good as her sister the one that have a fiance with a Marquis title.

The man laments that he noticed his daughter behavior too late and he couldn't do anything about it, even though said daughter is like 14 to 16 years old right now, we don't know when he actually noticed, if it was a year ago or five years ago, the thing is, the girl is still young, so he should have gave her a tutor the second he saw what the mother have done to her. But nope, the man did absolutely nothing, until he forces Gloria to take one fiance and sees that it would be a disaster the day she marries to the guy, so he finds a tutor for her daughter.

The tutor comes after the father banishes the mother, the only person that loves Gloria. Now, I have to say, the mother made the environment more toxic, and yes, the mother contributed on Gloria's actual personality, so it was a wise decision to separate both of them, but the way the mother went away... was not the best. She was pulled by the servants and entered the carriage by force, Cecil herself says that the shock of seeing that scene made Gloria eat on her room, never going out.

Said tutor is a spartan one that doesn't take account on her feelings, the tutor is not bad, in other instances, it would have been great, but with everything that happened to Gloria, it was a blow to her psychological state, a clear reminder that her father "hates her". Because instead of going out of his way and have a heart to heart conversation with Gloria to tell her that he actually loves her and that he did it because he thinks it is the best for her, he just gave her a tutor without saying a thing and that tutor doesn't care for her feelings either.

When Gloria is manipulated to harm Cecil he tells her that she is not his daughter, he doesn't want to know anything about her in the future and sends her to the monastery. After that he divorces the mother, the author puts a line saying that he married her by force and he tried to love her but she was like that, so he got tired.

After that he tells Cecil that she has to choose a fiance and he gives the names of almost every young men that appeared on the novel except the ex-fiance and the ex-fiance of her sister.

In the end Cecil tells she wants to marry the butler, and he says "ok, just clear his name and have my blessings"

So... all this great talk of aristocrats don't marry for love, was just a tool you used to coerce Gloria huh?... okay.

Cecil Inconsistencies:

Spoiler

One of the major things which I hated this novel was because the MC is inconsistent, she says some things but the plot makes her act the other way.

  • The cheating fiance.
On chapter 8 the fiance, Michael, finds Gloria moping on the fountain, she wanted to talk with her sister about her engagement and wanted some advise about this, Gloria was down because Cecil didn't want to hear her and Michael consoles her, he tells her he is in love with her and she doesn't believe it, it is until he kissed her that she actually started to believe, she was so happy that she didn't notice people were watching, and one of those was Cecil.

Cecil herself says that she doesn't love Michael, so it comes as weird when she actually felt a little bad, she says that her chest doesn't hurt but somehow the emptiness spreads?

Author, you had made Cecil say that she doesn't love Michael and that she is in love with another, why put this line? To make us feel bad for her? Even though she seemed to find an excuse to cancel the engagement? To make us hate Gloria?

  • The orphanage.
Cecile is a really busy person, she can't spare her sister at least 5 minutes for a conversation, she is always working on papers and her shops so she doesn't have time for anything, she says aristocrats have to act like aristocrats, that she hates weak people, people that can't stand for themselves, so it just doesn't make sense to me, the fact that she goes to an orphanage to play and read stories to the kids.

She doesn't have time to waste going there, she goes by a false name and acts like a commoner with the kids, she lets them touch her, she plays with them and read stories, things that aristocrats don't do, and on top of that, she actually have patience to this kids, poor, weak kids that can't stand for themselves...

    Is this for real?

Granted, she runs the orphanage, so this is her job too and not a hobby, and yes many villainess stories have this trope, but they were far kinder people, Cecil have a harsh tongue with everyone and doesn't have patience with many, so it doesn't makes sense that she can be around kids and them not crying because she said something mean to them.

  • Her feelings for Gloria
She says she doesn't instigates people to attack Gloria, that they do it on their own, but she never ever helped her, not once, not even on her first tea party.

We see an instance in which Gloria wants to talk to Cecil because her father is forcing her to pick a fiance and she wants advice, since Cecil isn't often at home and when she is the butler tells her to not bother Cecil, she had to arm herself with courage to go to the advanced department on the academy to talk to her sister about the engagement, when she finds her, she tells her that she wants to talk to her in private, Cecil tells her that she needs to tell her there, in public, then there is a verbal abuse against Gloria, people murmuring against her and Gloria exploding saying that if she was healthy she could enter the advanced department too, people become more hostile to her because "how dare a general student say she could enter on the advanced department?".

Cecil, right there, says "Then why don't show results? Even on general department you are below average" If this is her idea of "not instigating people to attack her" then, I have no idea what is her idea of instigating people to attack her. Because after that every student there attacked her, and her reaction?

It could not be helped that the surroundings started to attack Gloria.

    Sure pal.

With this, we know she finds her sister annoying and have no care for her, so what comes next is so out of character that I feel the only reason the author put this was to highlight how Cecil is good, unlike her sister.

Both sisters go to a tea party, after forcing Gloria to socialize they went back and got attacked by thugs, Cecil was completely calm and Gloria was really scared, she wanted to get out of danger so she got out of the carriage and ran Cecil chases her, running away she met a thug, he was going to kill her, but Cecil ran and protected Gloria, resulting in her getting a slash on her back.

    HOW did this happen?!

Let's break this down, they are surrounded by thugs, the servants are fighting, Gloria goes out, and Cecil, who doesn't like her sister goes after her, Sieg, the butler and ML looks that scene and does nothing. Then a big thug appears in front of Gloria and is going to kill her and Cecile "reflexively" covered Gloria, the girl she hates and takes the hit. Sieg kills the thug that slashed her and then starts crying.

    And you could think,

"well, this means she actually cares about her sister" nope, not a chance.

Oh! And we get to know it was the ex fiance that did this, so his household gets more ruined than before (it was ruined because they were losing money).

  • Her marriage.
Now, the biggest hypocrisy of the story, from all the novel, Cecil tells Gloria that her fiance should be someone her father choses, that she should grow up, that aristocrats don't marry for love, but they marry because they want to unite houses and stuff, and when it is her turn to chose, they make this big party in which Cecil talks with every option, and then goes to her house, takes a flower that was on her collar and proposes to Sieg, her butler.

Unsurprisingly, the butler was no commoner, he was from a ducal house that was accused of some sin, and almost everyone died, Cecil saved his life and on that moment he became her butler. After some reassurance he accepts the proposition and she goes to her father and tells him she will marry Sieg, and he just goes "I thought this would happen, ok, prove that the sin of his house is false and you can marry".

And they lived happily ever after, the end :)

    [collapse]

Gloria's downfall:

Spoiler

This is really one of the most pitiful characters I have ever met, she doesn't have a single good aspect, no beauty, no friends, no intelligence, no power, not even a good personality that makes people root for her, the only reason why I don't hate her is because I entered the story expecting her to actually get good, praying for her to not fall on Michael schemes, find happiness with Cris, that, by the time I realized she was irredeemable, I was too attached to her to let her go. And the ending she got was so horrible that my pity for her elevated and made me hate every other character by default, specially Sieg, YOU ABSOLUTE MONSTER!

Her downfall starts with her getting kissed by Michael, before this she was still on the good side, she felt remorse for her jealously, her inferiority complex impeded her to try steal from her sister because her sister is perfect, even if she tries there is no use, to me, it felt she have an actual mental sickness, maybe she wasn't physically sick anymore, but not having contact to other people for all her life made her develop social phobia and she actually felt sick because of this (but according to the author, she was just spoiled...).

She was innocent and she actually had no heart to actually hurt her sister... and then Michael ruins her.

The kiss ruined her reputation, many people saw it, Cecil break her engagement, but she can't have Michael even if they "love each other", because, obviously, that is wrong. After this the father gives her an ultimatum, if she doesn't choose a fiance she will go to the monastery, we don't get her POV of this scene, Cecil says that Gloria is selfish, that she wants the rights but not the responsibilities of a noble, but the way I see it, Gloria felt she was unwanted on the house, that they wanted her to marry quick to get rid of her, and if they can't do it that way, then they will get rid of her sending her to the monastery.

After this she is forced to meet the potential fiances, Nguyen, Roy and Cris, Nguyen doesn't even wants to stablish a conversation with her and is really open in badmouthing her, Roy is a calculative man that smiles but have dark thoughts, and Cris similar to Roy but willing to give a try.

The first meeting is a disaster, Cecil and her father literally forces Gloria to talk to them even thought they know her social skills are awful, and they didn't even bother to teach her. Gloria doesn't want to marry them because she is in love with Michael, but this guys interpreted her refusal as in "she hates us because we are lower class than her". After more coercion, the incident with the thugs, the tutor, running away from her tutor, and more coercion they finally choose.

Yes, Cecil choses who Gloria marries, Gloria never picked one... author... what was the point of making her meeting them when Cecil is the one that choses? Well, since Cecil was in every instance and Cris was the most suitable to be the sacrifice, he was the one selected.

Cris doesn't like the idea, but because he is friends with Cecil he accepts, he starts to visit the house and by accident becomes the dance partner of Gloria.

This whole event actually gave me hope, because Gloria actually seemed to change to good, it was not the best, but she actually was having a little more confidence, she was doing homework and she started to become better at dancing.

I thought that her spending time with Cris could have been the trigger to her becoming more open to him and start a friendship with her fiance...

And then Michael appears again to ruin things, on top of that, the author triples down the dumbness in Gloria for her last chapters.

In one of the times she escapes her tutor she hear the servants talking about how the prince of another country was on the mansion and theorizing why he was with Cecil, she finds them and sees her sister talking with the prince of another country in a room alone, making her think that she was having an affair with him, she ran to the courtyard thinking about why her sister catches the attention of good men, and why she isn't as pretty as her, and out of nowhere Michael appears, saying he got in because a her personal maid let him in, he hugs her and she starts saying how life is unfair, yada yada, and then says about the encounter of her sister and the prince and how the rumors are true.

Unlike Gloria, Michael knows those rumors are not true, Knowingly, he chose to hide, for himself.

After this line Michael tells her of how she is right, about how vile Cecil is, and that she needs to be taught a lesson. Gloria actually doubts, but Michael kisses her and she became dumber. Like this girl totally forgot that Michael was the one who sent the thugs that almost kill her, I swear, she wasn't this dumb before!!

Whatever, Michael gives her a bottle (obviously potion but author made Gloria ultra dumb in this arc so she doesn't know that), she ask what it is, he doesn't say what it is but that Cecil will suffer a bit but nothing life threatening, nothing compared to her "suffering".

Now, Gloria doesn't poison her for the time being, after all, Cecil is a busy person and she can't scape her tutor... which she have done before... many times...

Cecil actually is in the house after having a event with the prince of another country, Gloria goes to her office and offers her a cup of tea, they have a short talk in which she think how her sister is progressing but is still dumb. Then she starts to feel bad and notices her sister never drank from the cup. She is poisoned, obviously she doesn't die, everybody knows Gloria is the culprit, then, the author conveniently makes her inferiority complex disappear and she goes full: "How dare you attack me servant?!, I am an aristocrat, you can't touch me REEEEEEE"

She is captured and the servants report to the father, he decides to free Gloria to see where she got the potion because she obviously doesn't have the ability to get it and he actually says that Gloria doesn't have the head to hurt her sister, with her free she goes to Michael and tells him she gave her the medicine and how much she loves him, he says that is great but they can't be together because her father had been deceived by Cecil words, and that the only way to be together is her poisoning him, making it a "God's punishment". The girl is so gone, so desperate that she agrees, and then the father enters the house, with servants and Cris.

MTL says that Cris said: "I am sorry Miss Gloria. I wish I could build a warm family with you" Gloria responds she doesn't want to be with him, he responds it must be because of his social standing and Gloria says it is not because of that. True or false, I don't know, the author certainly doesn't like Gloria and made her despicable so I could say that she actually cares about the social standing, but I say she actually cares for the person... I know, I know, I am being biased right now, if I am fair it is like 60% social standing and 40% the person.

To make the conversation short, the father tries to reason with her, asking her if she kills people as "mischief" she says she doesn't kill, he asks her if it was her who put the poison on the cups and she said "yes", then adds that if Cecil dies because of the medicine she put then it was God's punishment.

At this point, she is almost complete crazy, we have more talking in which puts her in a really bad position, a girl appears and it seems she was Michael's lover... She says stuff about how evil were his acts, and after killing the Earl, was he going to abandon her? He pushes Gloria and begs Anne to not leave him, she says she can't be with him so she goes away... what was the need of this character that appears in this one scene? To completely push Gloria to craziness?

Well, it worked, Gloria became really crazy, and she makes the best thing ever in all this novel:

She takes a piece of shatter glass and stab him repeatedly saying:

"It is terrible, it is terrible, I loved you, to betray. Do not forgive, do not forgive, do not forgive, do not forgive, do not forgive, do not...."

Man, that was satisficing, but what happens to her next... not satisficing.

Cris stops her and Michael gets the last laugh saying how she only loved him because of his title and that Cecil was the only one that looked at him, but no mater what he have done, he couldn't get to her heart because she was in love with someone else, and then looks at Sieg, after that there is a quick review of his life and how we should feel bad for him.

After this, we get a little back story of her childhood, about how painful it was to be sick, her mother saying that Cecil robbed her health and crying, and she watching Cecil laugh and spend time with the crown prince, even though everything was painful for her, her sister visited her once a day, she asks Cecil who was the boy she talked to, she responds that it was the prince and she becomes jealous because she was friends with royalty while she was suffering every day, why is it that even though they are twins and born together only one of them suffers?, more of the mother saying how she is a poor girl and how Cecil robbed her everything, and that made her think it was her sister's fault. More jealously, more of her blaming her sister of every misfortune she suffers, and feeling good when her mother scolds Cecil.

Now to her punishment, the father removes her of the family, she begs for help to Cris because she is his fiance, he says that they are technically not because it was just a lip promise, if the tutor succeeded in educate her she would have been presented as his fiance, if she failed she would go to the monastery after being removed of the family. She begs her father to not leave her, he says she is no longer her daughter and to never show her face, and after entering the carriage she loses it and have like a half page of just "Unforgivable".

Now, I know what you are thinking, "Silvi, you said before that her retribution was out of proportion, that what happens to her at the ending was "so heinous, so horrible, so disgusting", and this is really tame." well, that is because it doesn't end here.

Six months later, after entering the monastery she escaped.

How? No idea.

She escapes to get her revenge and then... this happens:

Spoiler

Trigger warning, s*xual abuse:

Spoiler

She gets surrounded by several strong men, they start to harass her and she tells them to stop, that she is a countess so they can't touch her casually (Were did she got this confidence? why in the last arc she got bold from nowhere?), of course they didn't believe her because she was dressed as a nun, and then she was gang r*ped.

[collapse]
[collapse]

After that we have this disgusting scene that made me despise the ML:

Spoiler

"Gloria, I am disappointed with you".

Sieg was looking down from a hill as Gloria was taken by the men.

"If you were to reflect and fulfill your duties in the monastery, you wouldn't had such an unfortunate ending, But you will just get the punishment for degrading my little lady, Gloria".

[collapse]

Isn't it incredible suspicious that Gloria got taken just after escaping and that the ML was there to see her downfall? To me, he planned this, like, he did this, he hired these people to round outside the monastery and if they see a girl escaping they could "do as their please".

And not happy with this, the author made an extra of what happens later to Gloria:

Spoiler

After that traumatic event she wakes up in a brothel, she wants to scape but the lady says that she paid for her and if she wants to be free she needs to pay back, Gloria says she is an aristocrat and the lady says that that doesn't matter and that she will have to work there if she wants to get out out there and ends saying:

"Welcome to the entrance of hell aristocratic lady".

As in being r*ped by many men once, wasn't enough torture, now she has to "please" customers if she wants to get out...

[collapse]

And remember Gloria is between 14 to 16 when this happens, we know the twins are young because of this line:

By the way, the age at which alcohol can be consumed is from 14 years old, so I can drink it without any problems.

If the author found a necessity to put this then it means the characters are young.

This makes Sieg a complete monster :)

[collapse]

If you read the spoilers, you can see why I say that her retribution was on top, this is the kind of consequences that I do not wish even to my worst enemy, and if you think she actually deserved that... seek some help, because this is just wrong.

So... yeah, this is the reason why I didn't like this novel. Sorry to write this long essay that on word is more than 12 pages long but I needed to get this out of my system. <<less

Still early, but thought a review might help push this series along. The story is just getting started, but it looks promising.

Both sisters seem to be main characters and we get both of their points of view. Cecil is beautiful, ambitious, hard working and committed to her role as part of an earl family. Think an ambitious career woman. She isn't kind to everyone and has no sympathy for the weak willed, but she loves her friends and father and so on.

Gloria is weak-willed, has very low self-esteem and a... more>> self-defeating attitude. She is very jealous of her sister and is sure she would be better than her if only she didn't have a weak body, which is somewhat arrogant since Cecil is at the very top of the noble girl game.

Whether Gloria's body is actually weak or not is unclear, as Cecil claims this hasn't been true for years and that her sister is spoiled and just doesn't want to work hard and improve herself. The result is Cecil doesn't particularly like Gloria and mostly tries to ignore her. She isn't mean to Gloria, but she just isn't particularly kind to her. Gloria on the other expects to get warm sisterly love and sees any other kind of interaction as an abuse, so their interaction usually ends with Gloria running away crying and Cecil and most other people being exasperated and confused.

Gloria then goes and complains about her sister being cruel and so on to anyone willing to listen. I think she believes in the fantastical and false stories she tells about her sister. The world is a bit realistic in that most people don't buy this whole "Quiet and gentle princess" shtick Gloria is doing so she is disliked by most people, but some people do like it including the fiancee of Cecil. However, Cecil has already come to dislike this behaviour of her fiancee and is willing to give him up to Gloria, so this isn't necessarily a conflict.

I don't know where this story is going to go from here. Maybe they will body swap ?
The story is interesting because neither side is bad or evil at this point, which is not common in the genre.

Other matters:
• The translation is in comprehensible English and is quite smooth, but not great. Editing would help.
• The site doesn't work with the iOS reader view due to protection against bots.
• There are a bit too many advertis**ents on the translator's website. My iPad mini 4 has a hard time loading the page. <<less

This is honestly one of the worst villainess stories I've read. None of the characters are likable in any way. The MC is a douchbag who is extremely OP for no reason. While her sister is a wannabe mary sue who gets shitted on every chapter. I don't know why the author hated Gloria so much but geez it's overkill what they did to her. Every chapter it feels like her IQ drops and it all goes to her op sister Cecil. The author didn’t even try to make them... more>> equal in anything. Absolutely no one likes Gloria but the mother. Her father hates her, Gloria thinks she's a waste of space, the students at school bully her, and Michele just uses her. It's honestly sad especially when u see everyone loves Cecil. She is their father's treasure, adored by almost the entire social circle, every man wants her, owns a bunch of businesses, etc. Like geez at least make Gloria smart or something.

And it's weird because, in all honesty, Gloria doesn’t even do much. Other than being awkward and having extremely low self-esteem she's never mean or cruel to anyone or picking fights. I know it's annoying to be around someone who constantly drags the mood and the fact she doesn’t know how to behave in high society but she never deserves how they treat her. I'm more annoyed by the people than her honestly.

Cecil this, Cecil that. She makes me want to hop in the story and introduce the guillotine to the common people. She legit has no flaw whatsoever. Everywhere she goes people are either jealous of her or sing praises for her. I don't even have anything to say about her since she has no personality. There is legit nothing interesting about her. <<less
