In the story, the scummy protagonist separates from Bai Yueguang (ie White Moonlight) due to a misunderstanding, and under intense suffering, undergoes a complete personality transformation, becoming dark and irritable. By a twist of fate, he encounters a supporting male character who bears a striking resemblance to Bai Yueguang, immediately making him his own as a substitute.
Throughout, the cannon fodder supporting character is utterly devoted until Bai Yueguang returns to the country. The scummy protagonist then ruthlessly kicks him aside, making the supporting character finally realize his descent into self-destruction. Eventually, he goes insane, manipulated by Bai Yueguang and the scummy protagonist, and is locked up in a mental hospital until the story’s end.
As for the major antagonist who was manipulated by Bai Yueguang, his ending is equally tragic. After being overthrown by the scummy protagonist, he is left utterly defeated, his assets mortgaged, and not long after, he tragically takes his own life.
Chi Han, upon reaching the end, was so infuriated with the author’s forced attempt to make the scummy protagonist victorious by dumbing down the major antagonist. He abandoned the story on the spot. In the comments section, he left one resounding statement:
“If I were that supporting character, those doggedly scummy guys wouldn’t survive until the end!”
And then, on that very day, he somehow found himself transported into the novel, becoming a cannon fodder supporting character.
Chi Han: “…”
Can I take them back now? Is it still possible to delete those comments?
Regretful Chi Han, unable to change anything, continued to watch as the major antagonist, still underage, sat in a wheelchair, indifferently brushing aside the peaches that had fallen onto his shoulder. With a cold and proud demeanor, he passed by. Suddenly, he felt like maybe… it wasn’t all that bad?

In the Rong family’s line of heirs, there are no losers.
Due to his disability, Rong Xu had long been shunned by the family and excluded from their circle of power. He had tasted the ups and downs of human relationships. During countless dark nights, his only companion was the icy wheelchair beneath him.
A hatred akin to a venomous serpent relentlessly gnawed at his heart daily. He was determined that sooner or later, those who had trampled on him would pay the price!
Until one day, a person recklessly threw themselves into his arms. It was then that Rong Xu discovered colors beyond the darkness.
That person was Chi Han.
—I used to believe that this world would only treat me with darkness until that star fell onto my knees. I then realized that even the gods love me.

There is a timeskip of about a year while ML goes abroad to try and get surgery to fix his legs. While I did read it via MTL my vague impression was that his legs were harmed in an unnamed accident and weren’t from a natural disability (I don’t recall them saying specifically what happened but family drama? I could have just completely remembered the wrong novel though). While I agree with the other review that real disability doesn’t get cured (story of my life lmao) this seems to be more of a case of ‘cold president gave up on his legs after injury, mc’s love convinced him to try to fix it’ trope so it doesn’t bother me.
some... plot holes/abandoned story but they don’t bother me
jade carving gets pretty much abandoned, MC even goes to major in medicine/doctor stuff. MC and ML never discuss the misunderstanding involving SY with each other it just seems to get resolved all of a sudden. Mc’s scummy parents are written out of the story with ‘ML secretly handled them so they never approached MC again.’ At the end MC supports ML killing scummy protagonist which seems a little out of character for him but oh well. Above all, MC and ML were classmates with FJL for a period of time but he’s like... never mentioned. Maybe he passes by in the hall once lol, and before that the author wrote him as clamoring to get MC transferred to his class!
There is a small small section of animal cruelty where MC is doing an experiment for his major (medicine) and is involved in causing and logging the death of a rabbit. This happens in chapter 87.
