somehow develops a new personality around pleasing his ex-fiancé, depression, etc- going from being a talkative and smiling person into a silent and stoic person. for 80% of the story, MC thinks he's a kept boy-- he just agrees to sleep with ML each time out of some obligation to repay money owed. it felt like his consent during intimacy was dubious most of the time. there's some suggestion of him having hidden depth, but it just wasn't conveyed through the text. he never stood his ground with ML, always giving in for one reason or another.

accident. it's such a overused trope, and still the execution was mediocre at best.

never even felt that he treated MC poorly in the past, in his mind- he was a great boyfriend, lover. there's interpersonal problems and there is putting little effort, ML has both issues. Uninspired character, very boring and monochrome. even his character development came out of nowhere. one moment, he had no thoughts about MC, and the next he's suddenly realising how much he loves him. sus

ML breaking with the MC around the time his father dies, he's in extreme debt, etc was already a terrible look for him. but then the non-con happened and... well, let's just say the MC's bottom line must be much much much deeper than mine, because he never even acknowledges it. A few tears from the ML and he's suddenly forgotten everything he went through. smh

the MC had an accident

why is nobody talking about the r*pe? The audacity of the ML to have s*x with the MC when he was the one who initiated such a 'clean' breakup. I'm not kidding, his breakup was so clean initially that when the MC needed help (even if it was emotional support) and called the ML the ML ignored him. The personality of everybody around the ML also did a 180.

And even after that, while MC is having a panic attack because he's scared of the dark, the ML takes him and r*pes him even though the MC says no? And then they move in together and have a physical relationship after a very very very clear breakup from the ML? He wants the relationship to go back to before even though he has neither regretted nor repented? He doesn't even say 'we are back together now', he just takes the MC and they have s*x. And the MC lets him be because he owes him money. The moment MC's aunt returns from somewhere (which, where were you, lady? Your precious nephew lost his everything, had to deal with so much sh*t and where were you? Were you a plot device to suddenly turn their relationship 'equal'? Yes.) the MC immediately returns ML's money and THEY ARE STILL TOGETHER even though the 'kept relationship' should've ended already.

The people saying ML's EQ is low, does he also lack an iq AND common sense? Is it logical to force somebody to have s*x with you when you were the one who broke up? Why are YOU feeling wronged that the other person thinks of this as a kept relationship? How would YOU define this relationship then? His eq might be low, but is it just a problem with somebody's eq if they are breaking up with a person who has lost everything and has nowhere to go? (He didn't break up because they were incompatible, he broke up because he was too attached to the MC. Inagine this as a reason for breakup). Is it possible to do this with somebody you apparently 'love'? He only 'realises' his 'love' when MC is close to death. At this point I wish MC had really died so that ML could live with the consequences of his actions. He should've lived knowing that a person he supposedly 'loved' died because he was scared of intimacy, initiated an ugly heartless breakup and yet forced that person to abandon all dignity and accept being in a kept relationship. And he should have lived knowing that he would never be forgiven. If you think I'm angry at the fact that he broke up, I'm not. I'm angry at the timing, method and the reason. If it was only the timing, it's fine, you found out you're incompatible at the worst possible time and decided to break up. But the ML didn't find himself incompatible with MC, he found him too compatible, thought 'no, I can't handle this', and ran away. Then, after ignoring mc's calls, he sends an assistant with a property transfer contract declaring that their engagement is broken. MC gets no explaination, just a blank piece of paper. And you still believe what you did has no problem or effect? As if you didn't destroy somebody's last remaining oasis?

At one point MC was so much in pain that he welcomed the accident thinking the pain would end when he dies. Is this feeling so easy to forget? And is it so easy to forgive the person who induced this feeling?
