Edit: In July when I first reviewed the title of this novel was "In A Hentai World As A Trap" hence how I start my review.

I want to preface, that despite the title, there are no explicit scenes in the book as of chapter 42. Just the MC imagining said scenes but with no detail. There is explicit language however, so keep that in mind.

Its a lighthearted novel closer to a comedy than anything, with a romantic subplot possibly in the future. Of the three novel that have similar premises that I recently read. That be Goddes Cultivation plan, I Don’t Want to Be Turned Into the Female Protagonist by the System, and this.. Trapped in paradise...

This actually the best one of the three. The romance is slow and sweet. The supernatural elements with sucubus and beast girl exist is the cherry on top. Many more to discover about the world building too, but that's not the focus

This novel has the best ML for romance setting, I love how he act and thinking just like regular kind and considerate college student who trying hard to make good life for his future family as he feels that he's not enough for them. I love their chemistry enough that it makes me reading this novel until the end.

Idk how the author do it but he managed to make us looks at fantasy world that have many sub race as if it not that different from our normal world. And I agree with AshariRb's review, As I read Goddess Cultivation Plan first thinking it was the current best in the GB romance terms but now this tops it off though I have to deduct points because later on the story gets a major time skip and it doesn't really focus on any worldbuilding and I would've definitely liked if MC had an arc about job finding rather than just skipping it

This novel is genuinely good. I half-expected the writing to be a bit off because of the genre, but I was pleasantly surprised it was a pretty realistic approach to genderbending. It's on the slightly slow side (by my standards), but the novel is generally just a meal for the heart rather than being overly explicit. Unfortunately, this is a chinese novel so even after so much fun development you don't get any of those type of scenes either way lol.

I think it extends more from just exposing the reality of genderbending, and that it's potrayal is applicable in what people experience in real-life during gender transitioning too. It's painfully realistic, and my heart felt sick every time she struggled, which is why I was happy we had a genuinely respectful and accepting ML to be by her side the whole time and even after. (WEN YANG YOU GOAT!!!) He's a bit of a horndog, but he's a first timer and doesn't overstep, so its cute.

The side jokes and gags with the side characters were hillarious; their character development is much slower than the mains, but they do exist and are relevant for most of the story. The main two are the ones who get more exposition, but it doesn't exactly overshadow the others (other than Wei Ji, dont expect much lol). Anywho, the couple is the sweetest out of the many WxM relationships I've seen, so this was a really good read.

Very good. Very good. Extremely good. What I like most about this novel is how it focuses on the small details, making them the entire overarching plot, getting you invested in the world itself.

Despite including all these crazy hentai details, the entire world is meant to feel cohesive and, surprisingly, normal. In addition, the psychological storytelling of the main character's fall into a girl, then into a girlfriend, and finally into her role as a smutty nymphomaniac for her original hentai protagonist is perfect. Unlike how a lot of genderbend... more>> stories brush off the intimate parts of transforming into a girl (just using it as a casual plot point, or a cheap reason to stretch out romance), this story makes genderbending an essential part of the storybuilding.

It gives a feeling of acceptance and love throughout the main character's entire transition too, which is easy to fall in love with. Yet, despite being smutty, the novel doesn't typically describe things in an overly male or pe*verted way. It has details, and is really good with its details, but typically doesn't need to rely on cheap fan service to make you feel something.

I guess you can describe it as p*rn for your heart? At least with the first 200 chapters I've read that is.

Point being, 5/5. It's VERY good.
