Shen Tong transmigrates into a 1960s-era novel as the infamous “counterpart group” villainous. The original host is completely lacking in virtue, intelligence, physical ability, aesthetics, and moral character; lazy, greedy, scheming, and constantly trying to outshine her capable cousin Shen Yan. In the original storyline, her jealousy and constant sabotage lead to tragedy, dragging her entire family into ruin.

Just after arriving, Shen Tong discovers she has activated a “Beautiful and Kind System.” Instead of panicking, she calmly evaluates her situation and decides it is still manageable.

The so-called stolen marriage is not worth much in her eyes, only ten jin of pork belly. Rather than obsessing over it, she chooses to start fresh by breaking off the engagement and focusing on improving her own life.

From then on, Shen Tong becomes completely different from her original reputation. She frequently brings home scarce supplies such as meat and candy, surprising everyone in the village. As her family’s storage gradually fills with increasingly valuable goods, she begins to set new goals: meat, oil, sugar… and eventually larger items like a bicycle, a television, and even a refrigerator.

At this point, Lu Yan gently tells her that as long as she wants something, he will find a way to get it for her even if he currently doesn’t have it, he will make sure he does in the future.

Because if he doesn’t act quickly enough, she might just obtain everything on her own anyway.
