Jiang Jiaran transmigrates into a novel and becomes a forgettable cannon-fodder character, one whose existence is so minor it barely earns a mention.

At the last moment, the heroine abandons her wedding, and she is forced to take her place, married off to the infamous disabled villain.

She lifts her bridal veil and quickly realizes the truth.

The villain’s disability is fake.

Her own “early death” in the original plot, however, is very real.

On their wedding night, her husband never appears. After that, she is simply abandoned, ignored, untouched, forgotten.

But not everything is as it seems.

Soon, Ying Zhaolou begins appearing in front of her from time to time sitting in a wheelchair, dressed in thin robes, his face pale as he coughs softly into a handkerchief, even staining it with faint traces of blood.

Weak. Fragile. Pitiful.

“Madam… I feel unwell,” he whispers.

Jiang Jiaran watches through everything, yet plays along effortlessly.

Until one day, everything changes.

She is pinned against the couch.

Ying Zhaolou lazily toys with her hair, his fox-like eyes half-lidded as he asks softly,

“When did Madam realize the truth?”

Jiang Jiaran still goes.

So… is pretending to lose her memory still an option?
