Just when I awakened adult game skills after reincarnating into another world, I realized this world was an apocalyptic dark fantasy.

Fearing for my life, I used my adult game skills to try and save this world, but the only problem was…

“Saint! Please have mercy!”

“Saint! Save us!”

…people keep calling me a saint.

I would have given this a 4/5, but I'm giving it a 5 to counter the only other review, who 2/5 hated it. All the complaints of the other reviewer are valid, but they were taking the novel completely seriously, while I think a lot of it is comedy.

The MC is trying to live a quiet life, but fate or a god keeps having improbable events happen (in a comedy manner) to shove him forwards as The Saint. Aside from that and his Sl*ve Harem Protagonist sexy powers, the the... more>> content is pretty dark with bad times for kids and innocent people. Luckily, the MC is forced against his will to be The Saint!

I've enjoyed it so far, and look forward to more chapters. <<less

Although the beginning may seem like a typical misunderstanding novel, akin to 'Mistaken as a War General', the work forces the protagonist into making difficult choices while he faces a constant threat to those he cares about. (Ch. 54 onwards gets much better)

The webnovel is surprisingly good. Although it starts as a misunderstanding comedy with the usual falling-upwards, hero-worship trope, it soon grows into a serious look at duty, identity, and the human spirit in a crumbling world. Set in a place on the brink of ruin where evil... more>> and suffering are everywhere, the story places the protagonist right in the middle of chaos.

The main character wields a power that is vulgar and unpleasant, yet necessary. Instead of using it for show or self-glory, he uses it to help those in need. This choice shows his inner goodness. His purity is not that of a saint but is a simple, honest decency that makes him different in a world of moral uncertainty. Fate, not ambition, pushed him into the role of a reluctant savior. Even though he tries to manage his situation, he is constantly reminded that one person's strength is small compared to the force of collective darkness.

The work also takes a serious look at the mind. It explores not only his external struggles but also the inner battles that come from his unwillingness to be celebrated or to use power in a way that feels natural to him. The idea that "Knowing what is good means doing what is good" fits him well. His inner struggle turns a simple story into a study of human weakness, endurance, and the heavy cost of heroism.

The setting is a stark contrast to modern life. Once living in modern Korea, where human rights and dignity were taken for granted, he now finds himself in a world where children suffer, hunger is common, and demons prey on the weak. Despite some flaws and occasional plot conveniences, the focus on his inner struggle and the weight of his responsibilities make this work both engaging and unique than a typical misunderstanding novelpia series.

PS. The 2 r-18 chapters were quite weird and out of place. I wonder what the author was thinking when he wrote that.

Also, Gigachad is a character, I'm not kidding.

I went into this expecting to read a few chapters and drop it. The cover art did it no favors when combined with the title. But the author completely subverted my expectations. At least so far, there's barely even anything "ecchi" much less R-19. If I was going to give it a title, it would be something more like "But I'm really not the Saint!".

The MC is an amazing guy. He gets weird eroge powers, but ends up using them for healing and punishing the wicked. After he saves the... more>> empire from the initial threat (which happened shockingly fast), he starts trying to abandon his identity as the Saint, but he can't. No one will let him leave because they're convinced that he really is the Saint. At this point, even I'm convinced. The MC is an ordinary person in many ways, but he can't find it in himself to abandon people in front of him when he has the power to help.

I really respect the MC and I can't wait to find out where the plot line with the evil cultists is going.

Edit: Chapters 53 is r-19. Not a fan of that, but it made sense in the story. Won't drop unless that content becomes a focus of the story, which I don't expect. <<less

Writing a review as well. I think this novel is quite good. The two draw backs are one, that each chapter feels relatively short so far. Though with 26 chapters I feel it is a good initial read. Two, while it has very good parts and things that set it aside from other novels it has a certain feel to it that will remind you of other stories. This feel can be taken as a good or bad thing.

Personally I think it is a 5 star, but I think there... more>> will be those for whom this novel just rubs them the wrong way. I also wish the chapters were longer. <<less

It's a very good reading experience. Well this story is based on great and funny misunderstanding, yet there is a moment where it's got serious too. When a good misunderstanding theme is being told, it never go wrong. Definitely recommended 5/5

The premise of story is a guy, an MC who got abilities that usually happen in erot*c or Hen*tai. The usual hypnosis, time stop, sensitivity increase, body modification. Scream like very erot*c right?

But, no matter how it sound like, an ability is just an ability, it's depend on someone who... more>> use them. This story is telling what happen, when these Super OP ability is used properly and with good intentions.

The story told it in an interesting way, and with MC personality being very good person and somewhat idiotic in a sense haha, makes the story good.

Hmm, there is little to do with erot*c in here, if that what makes you hesitate to read this like me before haha. Well the story is more focused on comedy in great misunderstanding. Like I was Mistaken For A Great War Commander for example

Do try this my friend ~ <<less

This story is wasted potential imo.. It already had a good premise, If only the author made the story kinda similar to "Dark fantasy normalized" where the MC goes around different places and cures/saves different people, this would have popped off..

Also the author added r18 stuff so early in the story, it felt so out of place.. This story did not need the r18 stuff and honestly made me drop the novel..

It’s a story of a dude, who ended up being misunderstood as a saint while trying to prevent a disaster. And as a god fearing man, he tries to quietly escape from his fake saint role, but just keeps digging himself deeper into the hole as he tries again and again to escape and not offend any gods above for his impersonation.

Honestly I enjoy the story a lot, it’s entertaining as heck watching the MC improvise on the spot to try and get away but panic when his actions turn... more>> out to have unwanted consequences. Treat it as a pure misunderstanding-centered comedy novel, and you will have a great time. <<less

A good misunderstanding story about a Saint who has the skills of an eroge protagonist. Those skills are: time stop, absolute hypnosis, body modification, and sensitivity 3000x.

I was looking for a novel where a protagonist actually used eroge skills for something other than le*d things, and this novel delivers.

I recommend reading this comedy novel for the absurdity of a Saint who does his best to not be a Saint and failing constantly.

Edit: There are 3 translation teams on this novel, so I will state that I have been reading on FenrirRealm and have not checked the translations from AsianLitLoom or Penguin Squad. <<less

There is a notable lack of explanation around the MC’s actual understanding of this world. He doesn’t actually know if this is some erot*c game setting or not. The power itself doesn’t have anything wrong with it, it’s merely a tool. It seems to be that only the MC has this prejudice against his own powers and keeps repeating erot*c game this or erot*c game that.

The world is a magic world with strong religious presence that seems to be just starting to undergo the industrial revolution. The story starts with... more>> the MC seeing a premonition that a certain person is going to destroy the world, so he decides that he must go and stop it. He needs to pretend that he’s a natural born saint.

The story has themes of the MC’s ‘redemption’. The MC being somewhat cowardly but also genuinely seems to care about the people and his deeds. The author overdoes the mystery by being a bit too overt, and making the MC a bit too dumb to critically think into the situation.

It does bear notice that the author randomly decided to insert two full chapters of just 18+ erot*c scenes for no good reason. This does hamper the enjoyment of the novel a bit.

Great characters, decently planned out story with emotional beats and hints of ‘redemption’ themes, held back slightly by the MC’s prejudice and general story confusion (the 2 random erot*c chapters). Still a potential 8 out of 10. Extremely entertaining and never stops being fun. <<less

It's been quite an enjoyable read so far. It is a fairly standard misunderstanding novel with plenty of romance on top. So far there isn't any le*d content. The main issue I can see if it is kept up is the regression to the status quo, though harming the main character's intention to reciprocate the affection of the romantic partners.
