This story is a mix and mash, that's it's whole thing, crossovers galore. I like it at the very least. But to be fair I struggle to find something 100% detestable

Our main character. Name: han yuseong, was an ordinary guy, living in a world with no apparent magical qualities, until the day it's not. He buys a virtual reality headset online and thus we have the title.

Ahah. He so totally got scammed into something way above his pay grade, and he's starting this out unpaid. The first 'game' he plays... more>> is very welcoming to beginners, in that he gets to... 'retry' infinitely. that's beginner friendly in a certain sense yes? but he soft locked himself.

He doesn't have any notable talents to begin with. Nope, he has to hone it himself. Thankfully he has a theoretically infinite number of attempts to improve it. What he has to hone? Nothing but the head on his shoulders. The game didn't even toss him any starting equipment.

You can really feel for the rest of the story that the mentality he gained here stands as the foundation for anything else to build upon. And yeah the saying 'a tragedy up close can be a comedy from afar' really does apply here because if you want to be morbid about it, the first 'game' he played drove him insane? But like, it doesn't really show. If it's a surface level interaction somebody could mistake him as normal, and parts of him still are.

But yeah the way I see it the story banked on crazy = genius in order to give this main character his secret ingredient. But yeah, I'm not going to go into a full on psychological analysis on this guy, you can do that. Have fun ;)

Edit 3: c53... Oh wow, some parts of my review were wrong and others now hold double meaning. Sorta feel proud of myself since if it was a really inaccurate assessment on my part my review would have fallen apart entirely. <<less

There's some next level foreshadowing in this novel. MC is interesting (to a reader's perspective) and not interesting (fundamentally boring) at the same time. There are also a few razor-sharp witty lines that are really great.

So the story is quick-travel-dimension short stories. MC travels to various worlds, completes them, and gain skills and 'currency' to be used in a shop. If you're interested in world hopping genres, Wuxia, Sci-fi, Medieval, etc, I recommend it.

It's slightly flawed since the author have inconsistencies though. For example, MC died 999 times in the... more>> first world, was shown that he was a cautious guy, yet in a mission he found himself lacking enough currency to purchase items at a pretty high level difficulty. That shouldn't happen at all since he experienced the world hopping for a year.

4.4 stars.

As the other review said, its a fun mix between a myriad of genres. The story is about a guy who gets scammed into buying these vr goggles that can transport him to any world and complete an objective there. It's not transmigration but possessing someone in that world. Though he can use his own abilities and weapons while possessing at a cost.

The pacing imo is fast with one thing happening immediately after the other. Due to the goggles function, sometimes multiple things happen at once, like one arc being... more>> put on pause while he does a quest, before resuming it.

Since items can be carried across worlds, it leads to interesting combinations, like sci-fi and fantasy.
Spoiler

Or an andriod with a railgun in a martial arts world. Or using a plasma axe and magic in a zombie apocalypse. Or elves with nukes.

Overall a fun story involving multiple genres. <<less

This is a great read. The protagonist was pretty interesting to follow and initially I thought he was going to go crazy considering the amount of mess he got himself in but one way or the other, it worked out. Is he right in the head at the end of this? Yes. Is he right in the head through the entire story? I don't think so.

Actual rating: 3.5

This novel is definitely good and enjoyable. The creativeness of the author taking straightforward plot into sudden spirals will leave you on edge. All characters have depth and well, their own importance.

The only criticism I have would be the no romance and extremely rushed ending.

Please don't let this deter you from enjoying the read. I'm just putting this here to hopefully help others avoid this emptiness I got from too high an expectation for the ending.
