Lux, a squirrel beastman, was a healer belonging to the Knight Corps and he had been harboring a one-sided love for the last three years for a black wolf knight named Gline-san, who saved him a long time ago.

Although people were afraid of him, Lux knew that he was actually a very gentle person. Yet, a coward that he was, Lux could only watch him from afar. Then one day, at a celebration party for a large-scale subjugation mission, a drunken discussion began over “who everyone wanted to take home.”

While everyone brought up the names of the popular captains, someone said, “There’s no way anyone’s choosing Gline-san, he’s way too scary.”

At those words, the feelings buried deep inside his chest boiled over, and Lux slammed his mug down and shouted.

“If I’m taking anyone home, Gline-san is the only choice for me!”

Before he knew it, the eyes of everyone in the venue were gathered on him, and he had even rushed right up to the man himself and said, “Please let me take you home!”

And when he woke up, he was on a bed in an unfamiliar inn, wrapped in the arms of a naked Gline-san. Thus the curtains rose on a convoluted, mutually unrequited love story between beastmen.
