all kids not hers died or kicked out due to circumstances not related to MC. The legal wife and the concubine also died. There are still some women but no longer put that much importance.

By the time the third son commited a crime, ML was so sad and reflected if he did something wrong when their (his and MC) children came in and showed him that he is a good father.

And look, I'm having trouble how to judge ML and MC. Modern standards will dictate that MC would be responsible as a step mother for marrying a man with children. As adults, both should have realize that the environment the other kids are on isnt great and nip that out of the bud.

But in ancient times, MC really didn't have that power so okay. But then she could have definelty do something about the third son but ignored it because not her problem...

I'm so lost in this moral dilemna.

How do I put it? The FL only slacked off in the beginning. Then she was trapped in her own emotions. But what was unique was that her emotions were genuine. She didn't pretend because she didn't need to. She was well protected by the sentimental ML.

ML has his own dramatic flaire where he believed that the FL truly had only him in her eyes. But this was probably what saved the FL's life and paved her way in this bloody journey.

FL was finally subdued and surrendered to the suffocating ancient ways. But she did get her revenge and true love in the extra where the ML transmigrated to the modern world after his death.
