Jiang Momo spent eighteen years scavenging junk on a desolate planet, until one day she was suddenly informed that she was actually the youngest daughter of the wealthiest family on the Capital Star, mistakenly swapped at birth.

That very day, she packed up all her treasured belongings and happily followed the old butler who came to fetch her.

However, it was obvious that the wealthy family preferred the graceful and well-mannered fake daughter over the dusty girl carrying a pile of junk like it was treasure.

On her first day back, Jiang Momo was sternly warned by the family not to even think about trying to claim the fake daughter’s identity or inheritance.

Jiang Momo didn’t care at all. She nodded casually and on the very first day she gained residency on the Capital Star, she enrolled in the prestigious Central Mecha Academy, known for having the highest admission standards.

***

On enrollment day at the Central Mecha Academy, Jiang Momo luckily found a sparse registration lane among the overcrowded queues.

After submitting her form, she passed through all the exams with ease and was successfully selected as… a mecha manufacturing instructor.

Jiang Momo looked at her work badge. “…Wait, I came to learn how to pilot mechas, not teach people how to manufacture them!”

***

Rumor had it that a new instructor suddenly emerged at Central Mecha Academy, capable of creating legendary mechas. She even had a stash of long-extinct precious materials.

To help their beloved daughter shine at the upcoming semester-end Mecha Competition, the wealthy Jiang family pulled every string they could to get the instructor’s ID and address.

Then, at the heavily-paid-for address, they found Jiang Momo buried in familiar-looking junk, deeply engrossed in her research.

Without looking up at the unexpected visitors, Jiang Momo said, “A-grade mecha, two million. S-grade, ten million. Legendary, a hundred million.”

The wealthy man roared, “We’re your family!”

Jiang Momo: “The price’s double for family.”

It’s a decent read. The MC is extremely OP but her personality makes sense once you remember that she grew up alone with only a robot. She’s very straightforward, occasionally money-grubbing, and it’s honestly funny that her robot even taught her how to act weak and pitiful when necessary.

I checked the raws, and apparently E is the ML but there’s barely any explicit romantic development all throughout. There are hints here and there, but the story mainly focuses on conspiracies and fighting beasts rather than romance.

There also isn’t much focus... more>> on noble society. Since the MC’s family is considered nouveau riche, it’s somewhat understandable why the nobles treat them the way they do and why they act like that. Honestly, most of the characters here switch sides and change attitudes faster than turning a page lol <<less

Super biased review from the editor coming up! Ta-da!!

I absolutely love this novel, too bad it's unfinished yet😭. I think this novel has everything that I like; capable MC, light on romance, career-centric, and light-to-no angst.

Take the summary at face value because everything written there is true except for one thing: to help their 'beloved' daughter. There's no beloved daughter in that family, only useful daughter. I'm pretty sure that parents don't even love their sons if they're not useful one way or another. Classic capitalist.

I also suspect some things... more>> go deeper than the surface but I haven't finish reading yet, so idk what's going on😙.

I hope you give the novel some chance and have some read. You might like it❤️. <<less

If you want a light read and wanna turn off your brain, this isn't a bad novel. The translator did a great job and everything makes relative sense.

The issue is that the novel isn't good. MC, Momo is OP right off the bat. She's strong, smart, resourceful, friendly, etc., which would be fine if she didn't live her entire life on an abandoned planet for the past 17 years. With only a battleship AI as her companion, an outdated AI. Even with all this, she has no problem interacting with... more>> everyone, a little too trusting, but other than that, she faces no actual problems. She's a Mary Sue, and it wouldn't be such an issue if the story were good.

Her family rejects her for a fake sister (due to differences in personality and looks), and the entire family hates her for no actual reason. Like, none of them want anything to do with her, and this isn't even built up, as soon as they look at her, they hate her. Which sucks but if they just kept her at a distance I wouldn't had cared much but they lowkey ab*se her, like she's been there for three days and they refuse to feed her, give her a closet sized room, don't want to get her documents, and it turns out that they were forced to retrieve her from the abandoned planet by the government.

THeir said to be the richest family in the country. Their so evil it doesn't even feel real. The author wanted you to hate them and didn't even bother treating them as real characters. Despite this, in 3 days, she somehow gets on the 2 most influential families' radar, and they start fighting over her because she's so talented.

She makes a mistake in signing up for school, and somehow she ends up a teacher and comes in first place in the exam. The dean of the school also has her on his radar, and she's described as a super genius and uses techniques that have been lost to the country. This being possible due to the war shipshe was trapped with that is a ship from the "lost society" that was more advanced than the current country. Even though the country is extremely advanced.

Overall, Momo is a Mary Sue who has everything going her way. Which wouldn't be bad if the story were interesting, but it's not. The story is boring and is filled with people praising MC or people fighting over her talents. Anyone who doesn't like her or betrays her is an evil individual and must have committed some horrible crime.

Not a bad read, but also not good. The translator is good, and just for that, I'll rate it a 3-star instead of a 1. <<less

This is another decent potato-chip story. The MC's settings are a little silly at times, and the male character writing isn't great for the first 50-ish chapters or so, but the author improves their writing of the secondary characters as the story continues. Also, seeing a female lead character actually attracted to men she meets is both realistic for her age (18), and a bit refreshing compared to the usual much more romantically passive female leads common in these sort of stories.

A lot of the MC's thoughts and opinions are... more>> kept very sub-textual, and the translation does a fantastic job of preserving and conveying them without losing that. Her skills slightly strain credulity, but more for her age than her background. Some of the timing on past events is a little silly if you think about it too much.

It's an interesting case, because the tone is rom-com, but the plot is actually more of a political thriller. The mixed genre ends up at a bit of a weird balance, but not enough for the story to be actively bad.

The military = good filter is pretty thick, but it's balanced out by a flawed political leadership and the military competence being kept to a reasonable level.

If you can't stand OP main characters don't read it; but if you're looking for a lighthearted sci-fi novel to pass the time, and don't mind the positive military filter, I recommend it. <<less

So, if you stop and think about the story for five minutes, you'll realise it's flawed; that key details driving the whole plot don't make much sense, and that the protagonist is a Mary-sue. But this is also the kind of story where you can jump in and just run with it at breakneck pace, and so never stop to think about those things and realise that.

Thre is a lot going on here - several subplots moving at once. The author does an okay job balancing them. The story doesn't... more>> do much in terms of boring chapters. I like that; there is no useless padding or drawing anything out. That's a good thing on its own, but extra valuable here because the supporting cast don't get a lot to characterise each uniquely - the plot can cover for the weak characters in this one, because the story is enjoyable and it moves fast enough that character romance doesn't need to do all the heavy lifting, and can instead be a side point. I also loved the premise - we're doing enough unique here that the story feels unique.

Perhaps as someone else said, it's not a rare gem. But it is an actual story instead of a list of common tropes like so many light novels are. And it's a story with unique elements. I might not want to eat my iPad to get more of the story I me, but I will stay up late on a workday reading it. <<less

This could have been one of these rare really good books.

But it is not.

There are at least two important reasons why.

... more>> The fumbled way the author describes the behavior of multiple men towards the protagonist makes it seem as if all of them are potential love interests. Not sure if it is because the author didn't realize how much this lowers the quality of the story or if the author just wanted more words, using this s*upid method to create fillers.

The other REALLY irritating thing is the s*upid money grubbing character of the protagonist, which makes no sense. She is described as so smart and her AI is described as so super smart, why does she even care about all these exta jobs where she makes 50k a month or 100k over a weekend?

She could earn millions or billions with her work if she would stop for ONE moment and think about it.

This all and some smaller problems made this an average to worse than average story instead of that rare gem it could have been. <<less

A promising concept squandered.

Her family is pretty cartoonish bad. They exists solely to piss off the MC and us readers.

It's also said they're the richest family on the planet, yet they fail to meet noble families and seem to act like clowns rather than competent people.

... more>> It's the very crappy stereotype of "We're rich and mighty but we're actually incompetent opportunistic s*umbags" that the author tries to hype up as "a super rich, powerful and competent family", but instead it's filled with logical holes.

The MC is fine, she's OP from the start sure. However OP characters when done right can be fun and even interesting. Sadly the storytelling doesn't manage to take full advantage of this.

As for the rest of the story, it's meh so far.

Not a recommended story. <<less

I don't remember until what point I got before the website stopped working. But it was around when our MC joined the mecha competition.

I think MC's personality is quite interesting. She's definitely smart. But in a way a bit naive and straight up ignorant from being raised in isolation. But she's the rolls with the punches type. Which works great because the people around her a bit conniving or straight up hateful (like wtf bio family????). Her little AI that raised her is so cute tho.

I also like that the... more>> beginning of the story mostly reads as a career type story. I don't know if the author plans on romance (there are enough male characters for that to happen) but that doesn't seem to be the focus as of yet. <<less
