After reading the tag, I know that this novel would be full of misunderstandings but I still felt irritated because of it.

At first, the misunderstanding was quite understandable because ML didn't say the L word that made MC confused about ML's intention so MC determined to leave. However, she's still like that even after ML confessed to her.

Her state of mind changed from "I couldn't be with him because he didn't like me" to "Even though he liked me, I'm not worthy of him so I should just go."

Really, it became more and more annoying as the story progressed. And the sm*t didn't help either since it wasn't that many. Thankfully, the story was short so you could quickly finish it.

or is the right word naive? I dunno, how tf can you not see that a person likes you when he already said it out loud. And she goes out of her way to put herself in dager because she can't be bothered to fkking wait out the ML's plan lol

✔meh smut. There's only like 2 or 3 scenes and it wasn't even up to my standards

✔lacks climax in the story. It's a so-so plot. I came here after I saw the manhwa (cuz usually I look first if a manhwa has a novel and then I'll read the novel and not the adaptation one). It's the same as the manhwa version. <<less

I had to start aggressively skimming as the novel went on. I wouldn't have finished it if were any longer.

Both of the leads were pretty dumb. Her reaction to his confession, her constant befuddlement in front of the dowager queen, and her going with the hunt were probably the most irritating for me. His woeful mishandling of their first encounter, his way of confessing but not making the changes in their relationship clear, and literally every decision of his after he kicks her out of the one meeting.

How could you possibly decide it's better to hurt and humiliate the woman you love because you feel like it's a bit odd to tell her you will formally propose in three days?

Yes, it's so much better to leave her open to your aunt's verbal attacks, questioning the basis of your future relationship, and worrying about worst case scenarios so that you can avoid that minute bit of awkwardness.

'I didn't think she would be so hurt' was the lamest thing I've read in a long time. Seriously. You forced her to confess her feelings for you and the next day you kick her out of a meeting of her peers. When she asks again to stay and participate, you just repeat that she isn't needed and doesn't need to know and should leave. Oh yeah, everyone wants to be coldly and publicly humiliated like that by their newly confirmed lover. He didn't pull her aside to ask her to give him three days or to trust him or to just ask her to leave in a more private manner.

The author clearly didn't know how to plot either. The political stuff was poorly handled, so it didn't really add anything. It would have been better if his aunt was just an aggressive family member.

It's not the worst, and the part where she finds out literally everyone knew about the ML's unrequited love was quite cute, but I just can't really recommend. <<less

Honestly, a nice short novel. With a woman who takes pride in her work and her master who loves her. She doesn't wanna marry and so does he but their reasons for so are different, or are they? The Master is suffering from a lot of necessary proposal but will she the only female vassal help him?

Things I didn't like:

  • The weird combination of pride and self-depreciation that FL has.
  • Misunderstanding
  • Unclear consent (at some instances)
Things I did like:

  • The chemistry
  • The smutt
  • The length was perfect for a quick read.
