In the year 2566, the world fell to the zombie plague.

Sixteen-year-old Jiang Sang was just an ordinary student until he was bitten. As his consciousness faded into the void of the undead, his last thought was a bitter one: Is my name too unlucky? “Sang-sang” (Jiang Sang) has literally turned into a “Sangshi” (zombie).

But there’s a catch.

Cheng Zhiyou, the highest-ranking officer tasked with clearing the city and escorting survivors to a new sanctuary, is on a routine patrol when he encounters something impossible. A little zombie, looking quite fair and pretty despite the gray cracks on its face, is busy stealing a farmer’s chicks. When the officer raises his gun to finish the job, the “monster” covers its head and pleads in a panicked, stuttering voice: “Save… save me…”

Instead of a bullet, the little zombie gets a new guardian.

While the rest of the undead hunger for human flesh, Jiang Sang just wants to eat. He’s picky, he’s clumsy, and he’s constantly asking, “Is it time to eat yet?” Meanwhile, Cheng Zhiyou finds himself playing babysitter to a creature that is supposed to be his enemy—a creature that is, somehow, still soft to the touch and unnervingly sweet.

Join them on a journey across the ruins of civilization as they search for a new home, one roast chicken at a time.
