Lucia looked at the letter she had received and thought it was time to get ready.

It seems that her fiancé, the Prince, is returning to the royal castle with the woman who saved his life.

Lucia bit her lip hard, almost swallowed by a deep despair that this time has finally come for her too.

Apparently, there have been cases of fiancés meeting their “fate’s partner” and breaking off their engagements.

Lucia thought it was none of her business.

But never thought she would be a part of it.

“They are united by fate… Then what is the fate of our future?”

I am not so sure why there are so many people giving this novel 1 star since it's by no means a bad one. It gives an interesting narrative with the 'breaking of engagement' trope which is refreshing, as even though I adore the trope it can become a bit bland after so many.

It's not a particularly long novel from what I've seen on syosetu (only 7 chapters and 1 extra) but the story is nicely wrapped up and gives a warm feeling afterwards. The characters are likable and the... more>> story is quite sweet.

All in all I would give this story 3 stars however I gave it 5 due to the amount of 1 stars this novel received : ( <<less

This story is not something new. You probably already guess the ending when reading the description for the first time. But it doesn't change the fact that this is such a sweet story

However, I'm a bit disappointed about the ending.

Spoiler

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that the author gave Millenia a chance to redeem herself. But I don't like the fact that she ends up with the prime minister. Won't it make her family's delusion grow stronger?

Yes, she won't be a princess like they originally said to her, but isn't prime minister still a noble? I prefer Millenia ends up with a kind-hearted commoner and live a simple and happy life.

I don’t get why the rating is kinda low? It’s a fluffy short story with happy endings all around. I was having a bad day so this healed my heart. I like how it broke the someone has to be a villain or dumb trope like you think it’s going a way but it doesn’t and I liked the characters even though it’s a really short glimpse of them since this is really short.

Why does this have such high reviews? Even if it's a cliche plot, I began to have hopes seeting the high reviews. But this really can't be rated more than a 3.5 stars - if you're being indulgent.

It's not offensive or too boring, but you can just tell it was written by an amateur, probably a teenager. I had no problem with finishing it since it was short thankfully.

I have never been a fan of short story, simply for the fact that they are short. However, this story is so good that everyone should read it, even other insane ones who judge a book based on its length.

I don’t want to say too much, because it is so much easier to slip up with a spoiler in such a sweet story.

Here is a short synopsis of things that you will learn in the first chapter, so I don’t believe that it can be called a spoiler, especially since... more>> the most important detail I shared was stated within the first few paragraphs.

Lucia and her fiancé, the Prince, were engaged at 5, because the Prince fell in love with her at first sight. The Prince, in the process of doing his duties, gets into an accident and loses some of his memories, and he is returning back to the castle bringing a village girl with him.

Anyways, I will close this review with it’s a sweet read, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves romance.

I also want to say thank to author for such a lovely short story, who knows this one might make me more willing to read short stories. <<less

The story is pretty fluffy~ There's some angst, but for a short story, it's pretty good. It doesn't really bring anything new to the genre, but there's enough freshness that it's a good read.

At first the other female (the one who saved the ML) seemed pretty one-dimensional... like those typical "heroines" that are actually brainless villains in these types of stories. But the last chapter redeemed her. Though I wish it wasn't shoved into the last chapter and there was just more character development within the plot, I understand the... more>> limits a short story has in fleshing out all its characters. This is also in the limited perspective of Lucia, so that is a factor in and of itself.

I MTLed it, as the translation was around the same quality. No offense to the translator... Thank you for translating, really. But please try to find an editor. Thanks. <<less

As a sweet and fluffy story, this is a 5/5. It focus solely on the romance aspect, other topics such as politics is never mentioned beyond that the girl the royal family love at first sight is always from a good family.

The only complain I have is the ending of the other girl. Similar to the other reviewer I also hope they married someone of equal status or at least someone not part of the crown prince's party. I don't really like that their delusion thinking is rewarded after realizing... more>> how it's just a delusion. And I feel like it be pretty awkward later on.

Other than that short fluffy story. If you are here to heal your heart then try it out. ^^ <<less

This short story offers a cute and fluffy twist on some classic cliches. It delivers exactly on the promises made in the first part, a tale of two people entangled by fate. Our MC Lucia and ML Arthur are adorable, but the strength of their relationship is tested when the ML is nursed back to health by a village girl at a time when a lot of high profile noblemen are dumping their betrothed for commoners. This high-quality translation is a gratifying read that brought a smile to my face.

Ngl. It was entertaining for the ending part, since it showed that pov of Milenia; and her possible partner Douglas. But, it's your typical ride of angst, plus romance realization of how much the MC loves each other.

Kind of annoying about the whole story stressing soo much on the rumours, a blaring sound of red herring, before the actual events of the conclusion took place.

Sweet, sure; annoying as hell, if you can't tolerate the round about way towards the ending.

Still it's entertaining and heart warming enough.

I'm not exactly a major fan of love at first sight because it's hard to believe in, but in this case, it may as well be magic, like they said, a "curse". It was truly beautiful to think of and to witness: a man, who had once given his heart to a lady, never really stopped loving her, even with his memory loss. He came to remember everything so quickly, too! Truly the fantastic power of love.

Even if it's a little easy to dislike Millenia because of the traditional "heroine... more>> fiance-snatcher" model, once I read chapter 8, I couldn't help but feel bad for her, and I guess that's what was intended. When someone puts dreams into your head and makes them sprout - whether your a villainess or a heroine, it matters little - you end up carrying those dreams into reality, even blindly (or in a lot of cases, deliberately) hurting other people in the name of love.

In a way, she holds one of the true perspectives of a reincarnated heroine: basically, the world was meant to be set up for them, and reincarnating as the heroine, they also believed so. Unfortunately, those thoughts consume them and they do anything for the sake of their "lovely happy ending" - no matter what it takes, even if it may twist them on the inside. Unlike other foolish heroines, or those fools who cater to them, this particular "heroine" snaps out of it pretty easily and realizes the truth. Others become like the wicked witch of the west and refuse to relent, to the point of arrogance, that their supposed loveliness is marred, and all that's left is a puddle of darkness in the shape of a human. Redemption? Maybe. Even villainesses get their redemption sometimes... but one has to realize their mistakes first.

If one were to imagine that she were to wed the prime minister, then in a way, her parents' and everyone else's dreams are to come true. However, Millenia has woken up from the dream, even if she has her happily ever after - she is in the real world, with her own happy ending.

In addition... it might be a little awkward for Lucia and Millenia, so I do kind of want to imagine the aftermath.

I think, considering how important the prime minister's role is, they'll eventually meet a lot more. I can imagine Millenia feeling guilty for the happiness she was about to destroy, and Lucia would try to start a meeting with her with a blank slate, as Arthur has truly proven his love for her. <<less

Very cute short story, whole-heartedly reccomend. I imagine the one-star reviews are in reaction to how... heavy the prince's love feels, but it fits the story that's being told.
