On an ordinary weekend, Cen An took a routine afternoon nap. Upon waking, he found himself transported to another world.

He was utterly dumbfounded.

This world was in the throes of catastrophe: monstrous beasts roamed everywhere, land lay fallow, resources were scarce, disasters struck frequently… Humans who had also evolved special abilities struggled to survive.

Cen An faced both good news and bad news: The good news was that the farm game he played had come to life—at least he could eat delicious fruits, vegetables, and grains without starving.

The bad news was… all the progress he’d grinded out in his past life was gone!

His sprawling farms, ranches, and orchards had vanished in an instant, replaced by a shabby little hut and barren wasteland.

Cen An took a deep breath: So what if it’s grinding? I’m made of it!

In the fifth year after the Great Cataclysm, all humanity lived in dire straits, struggling to feed and clothe themselves.

Until someone discovered a small farm had suddenly appeared on the eastern foothills, selling precious foodstuffs: tender greens, fragrant grains, juicy fruits, succulent seafood, and aromatic grilled meats and fish…

Even luxurious milk and alcoholic beverages!

Awakened beings, clutching handfuls of spirit cores exchanged for these delicacies, shed tears of joy: Could this be paradise?

Until they realized the farm’s produce didn’t just fill their stomachs—it actually boosted their abilities!

Awakened beings worldwide flocked like pilgrims: So paradise looked like a farm! That young farmer must be the deity sent to save them!

Only Cen An, surveying the hillsides bursting with fruits, vegetables, grains, and livestock, smiled as he wiped his brow: I’m finally catching up to my past life’s progress.

EDIT: I slept on it and came back. Actually I think this novel is pretty memorable and I enjoyed the experience of reading it. You never know where it's going to go or what will happen. It seems like a typical story and yeah there are boring parts, but the exciting parts are also really good. Would I recommend this to others? Yes... if you're in a peculiar mood...

The first few chapters are okay, but after the landslide it became a group-pet setting without any explanation and honestly, I... more>> wouldn't recommend it for a while after that. By the time I finished reading the novel, I think it's good at the end and the beginning, but in between is kind of questionable. Parts of it didn't know where it wanted to go and it went around a few circles. Honestly, I'm not sure if I can recommend the reading experience, but it's an interesting novel if you can read it through!

I can understand the side casts wanting to pet the MC, but why are all the villagers suddenly thinking he's like their bodhisattva? Like I get it, but I also can't stomach it. It's too much. The MC's personality also changed. When at first this novel was about cultivating land and solo adventures it became him being a busy body trying to solve everything in the village and take care of everyone. It's abit (alot) cringe...

After
Spoiler

the village decides to expand and accept more people,

[collapse]
-- I think his character setting became palatable again. The contrast of outside cruelty and impoverished living conditions versus the MC's care and 'considerate' aura makes more sense.

Finishing the novel... it became alright in the middle-end because it went back to focusing on building the farmstead and gathering materials. Although there's still some cringey moments with the MC's interactions with others, it's alright if you just skim through it. Overall, it retains the essence of building-theme novel, but the group pet setting is really not for me (some may like it though!)

Overall story plot line is really good. Like it's interesting. It's really... ah... you wouldn't expect it from the beginning to middle. But near the end it really wraps up well. It's fun! The plot line about the bigger evil is what makes this novel interesting. Still not sure if I'd recommend it, but if you're looking for some new experiences give it a try! <<less
