Immortal Lord Xie Hang raised a civet cat. With fur as white as pristine snow, he named it Xiao Bai. The little creature was timid and terrified of strangers, finding comfort only in the Immortal Lord’s presence.

Others mocked him, saying, “That’s no civet cat; you’re clearly raising a white lion.” Incapable of speech, the little cat could only wail in Xie Hang’s arms, filled with anxiety and grievance.

Yet, a casual word can become a prophecy. Xiao Bai eventually grew into a majestic, imposing white lion.

Whether a lion or a kitten, it made no difference to Xie Hang. He never expected Xiao Bai to awe the world like other divine beasts. But when outsiders mocked the lion for growing too large to curl up in Xie Hang’s embrace, the giant beast would look utterly heartbroken.

Xie Hang would glare defensively at the mocker, spending the next half hour gently stroking the great lion’s head to comfort it.
