As always, reading a novel from Wuzhe feels like one big nostalgic hug. I don’t really know how else to describe it but finding a warm, welcoming home in the midst of a rough and rarely accommodating world.

Similarly to Saye, San Fu does an incredible job at walking you through the life of two people from completely different backgrounds, completely different mindsets and aspirations that somehow, despite all odds, find solace in each other, learn from each other and become better thanks to each other.

I’m once again amazed by Wuzhe’s... more>> mastery of crafting vivid and alive characters that simply feel real. Although admittedly less heavy than Saye, San Fu strikes a great balance between being lighthearted and serious and still manages to do an incredible job at showing both the joys and sorrows, the uncertainty and hope of youth, all of which is masterfully conveyed through Jiang Kuo and Duan Feifan’s budding relationship. The relationship of two people that is so highly unlikely but manages to take off despite all odds... providing both great humor and heartfelt moments. Something about watching two people starting as polar opposites but gradually getting influenced by one another and reaching a stable and healthy place that not only allows their relationship to grow but also opens their heart to other people around them is so very satisfying.

I cannot express how much these characters grew on me, , , and that doesn’t only include our main duo but the entire Role Models friend group, Jiang Kuo and Duan Feifan’s family members and even people like Fan Jiabao and Yang Ke or Jiang Kuo’s roommates...

I’m sad to part with this novel as it has become a source of comfort for me over the past few months that I’ve been keeping up with the (incredible might I add) translation. But as always with Wuzhe’s novels, you leave the characters at a place where they are just about to step towards their hopeful and bright future. Even though we might not be there to witness it, it does leave you with a sense of comfort at the end of the bumpy journey.

If you’re looking for a novel that isn’t too heavy but still manages to remain touching and meaningful despite its lighter tone, this might be the one for you. It can be both amusing and admittedly corny at times but that somehow fits the characters perfectly and never fails to make you laugh. <<less

I think everyone misunderstood this novel, if you are talking about a story similar to Saye with crossover, that will be Qing Kuang. Not this. This completely different, good characters, character growth is also there. It's nice to see how far both the protagonists have come.

Setting is campus romance, we have rich guy, poor guy. Both have their own personalities and ego and group of friends also do not seem like supporting characters just for plot.

Please don’t pay attention to the low rating, just read the first couple of chapters and see how you like them. This novel is a lighthearted comedy with a mostly unserious plot and characters, so if you expect something like Saye, you’ll probably be disappointed. The main couple is an arrogant introvert x the world’s friendliest extrovert and their dynamic is very adorable!! Our entitled unfathomably rich MC learns how to live in the everyday person world, with all the chaos that comes with that. It’s a campus novel, but... more>> the story does not focus on studying and college activities. Both MCs’ families are very loving and feel unique, especially Jiang Kuo’s parents and sister.

It’s very funny and beautifully translated!! Please give it a try, I promise you won’t regret it!! _ (´ཀ`」 ∠) _ <<less

Really have no words.

This one really hits too hard, Wu Zhe is just so good, there's no such thing as disappointment.

This novel's focus is more on the main characters and their development, there's not much drama and the overall progress of relationship is realistic and extremely satisfying.

... more>> You can think of it as a combination of Jieyao and Qing Kuang (Cheng ge, queen miao and Feifei make an entry!)

Duan Feifan and Jiang Kuo both really do seem to have vastly different personalities, but they're similar in many unforgiving ways that they get to explore as the story progress, it really made the novel so engaging. Wu Zhe always manages to make characters as real and a love, so sweet. The most striking point is with how simple it is. Issues are brought up and resolved but not in a grueling way that shows the reader the frustration— it is upsetting, and there are lots of tears to be shed but if you compare it to like 《The approach》you'll really notice how youthful Wu Zhe's novels are. Truly the pinnacle of summer-ey romance. There is actually not much drama, a maximum of 20-30/150, the book mainly focuses on Jiang Kuo's development, how Duan Feifan's learns to let go of the many weights he's never put down. You really see how they change as the book progresses, they're even writing college exams..

it's really so well-written I want to cry.

highly recommend. <<less

I seriously love this novel so much. I was anticipating on reading it, waiting until it was completely translated (thank you levijiejie for that). Let me just tell you, the way their story is handled is so beautiful and realistic.

I've never seen such a realistic growth in characters before, everything felt so natural. Including when

their relationship had to take a step back, there was so much maturity in that scene (i loved it so much) and it felt so much more real then any other separation between two characters. Like it is definitely not like those relationships where it just doesn't work out so they separate for many years until the ML finds the MC. Instead, the way Wu Zhe handled this is so beautifully done, where Jiang Kuo and Duan Feifan are still together just not as partners and you seem them both (as they spend time with eachother without pressure) fall in love with eachother even moreso, and really try to understand one another.

[collapse]

Omg another thing I need to say is Duan Feifan's romantic gestures are so? Good? I'm not sure how Wu Zhe did this but his acts of love aren't over-the-top nor cringe to me they feel sincere and emotional. I really love Duan Feifan and Jiang Kuo they both really tugged at my heartstrings, especially at how much they grew together and also with the relationships between their own families made me really emotional it was so heartfelt. This is why I love Wu Zhe so much. Not to mention the hilarious things that occur throughout it, that had me dieing laughing so hard. What I also loved about San Fu was the side characters, like Fan Jiabao or Dong Kun and the gang, also President Jiang and Duan Feifan's dad. Yeah just all around the characters were amazing and felt so real.

I really just wanted to gush about this book, but if it makes you want to read it please do, you won't regret it. It's close to my heart. <<less

The rate the star part is glitching for me but I give this novel a solid 4.5/5. At first I wasn't too invested in Duan Feifan and Jiang Kuo's relationship and had a very neutral feeling about their characters, however when I got to the middle of the novel I ended up loving them more as time went on. They are both flawed characters and work together to resolve whatever issue they have together, giving each other space when needed. I particularly liked the aspect of showing Feifan's struggles with... more>> himself and family— (mild spoiler ahead, it's revealed early on tho, tagging just in case)

. One thing I like about Wu Zhe when she writes about side characters is that they're just as relevant as the main characters and helped them, especially Jiang Kuo develop from a lonely (and arrogant) young adult to someone who could appreciate those around him and show concern. Their love is definitely less on the angsty side and more on the fluff side, and you can feel it through how they act with each other. Though not very explicit, based on their actions and how they grew from their struggles you'll know that they love each other deeply. A subtle kind of love.

Please give this novel a try! <<less

Wu Zhe returns with a story as close to Sa Ye as possible - even our favorite characters Sa Ye are there - but it ultimately couldn't top the absolute love I felt when I read the first novel.

At first the text was brisk, but by chapter 70 I was tired. They are different, this is understandable, and perhaps they are more alive and real boys than in Cheg Ge and Gu Fei - but their love is still "love through the wall" - they seem to break through, broadcasting... more>> their feelings to the reader. I don't fall in love in theirs love.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a die-hard Sa Ye fan. I'm a big fan of Wu Zhe and I like her novels, I just see a wonderful friendship in this couple, but not passion.

But ML is my sweet cup of tea ♥️ <<less
