This is a truly rare, beautiful gift of a story. It's unbelievable how much the author managed to pack into such a short novel. The gentle way they treated MC's mental difficulties and made us feel so strongly for her really touched my heart. And the ML slowly grew on me, becoming worthy in my eyes of being with her. This was such a sweet tale of love that embraced the hard and simple parts of life that make every day beautiful when looked at as a whole. The extras... more>> added the right amount of sweetness and sadness to complement the main story and give us insights into the male characters and how they were touched by MC's steadfast character, becoming better selves. <<less

short sweet story with a very deep meaning.

to become an immortal, doesn't mean that you have 'worldly-halo' which revolves everything & you way.

living as an ordinary mortal doesn't mean the world was unfair.

in the end, everything happens must have reasons.

While reading I kept thinking, this is clearly a sweet and fluffy romance with a HE, what's with the tragedy tag? Well, I also ended up crying so hard I got a headache, so. Tag well deserved !

I only have one thing on my mind : "IT'S FREAKING CUTE !!!"

Great plot, cute couple, big heart FL and a green flag Ml, couldn't wish for more.

I felt so refresh when the A-hole realizes how dumb and arrogant he was.

I also truly appreciate the sub-characters growth and the lesson we get at the end :

"If he really loves, he will chose to wait for you no matter how hard or how long waiting can be"

I cried.

This is the most bittersweet short story I've ever read. The way this story is written has that children's story whimsy at the beginning, and it ends very elegantly and quietly.

The summary is very misleading and makes it seem like there's going to be some type of bloody drama but it doesn't. There are actual consequences to actions taken and all the characters are very adult about it.

The extras are so sweet and very much needed. The happily ever after that Disney can't beat.

The story was so stinking cute and tear jerking.... I was crying like a dog at the end of the story.... The ML and MC are so cute, honest and such green flags.... My heart hurts for them so much... I wish for them to live happily for many many hundreds years to come and in every lifetime of MC...

Lastly I want to thank the author and the translator for their wonderful job...

Didn't expect to like this so much. Both the MC and ML love each other and just want to live a simple life with one another. I understand why the Sword Cultivator and Junior Sister looked down on the MC and I appreciate their character growth.

This story is such a good depiction of how innocence and contentment are not s*upid, but rather important for some people to have. It's good that the MC is the way she is and she doesn't need to change, she just... more>> needs a life partner who'll actually support her. <<less

IT IS SO SWEET YET SO PAINFUL. My dog side eyeing me sobbing on the floor. 😭😭😭 This novel has everything, short yet impactful, sweet and fluffy yet tear-jerking. One of my favorites, same tier as the novel "second master". Hoping to find many great stories like this

This was a heart warming novel. I love the personality of Li Zhen Zhu (FL), she's kind, innocent and pure heart. Some people called her fool but other than lacking education, she's actually has her own set of morals and intelligence.

She suited well with Shen Tong Guang (ML). Despite his initial scheme & identity, he became good husband, appreciated her as person and loved her.

For Xie Wu Chen (ex husband), his regret was too late. Meanwhile, the villagers were good too.

The extra chapters made me emotional, love between mortal and... more>> immortal can be sweet and bitter because human's life span was short. But ML waited for FL's reincarnation for many years (with her flatbreads beside him) <<less

It's short, sweet and a tear jerker. I love it. Their love for each other is very moving. This short story has earned a spot in my top 5 favorites.

Although he never ate her heart till the end, he already did, she poured her love for him into the flatbreads she made for him. The fact that whenever he missed her it would rain was heart-wrenching. He traveled the world while waiting, collecting stories he could share with her when they finally reunite. 😭

The last scene reminded me of the last scene from my favorite K-drama Goblin lol. Come to think of it it's a little similar, without her he was the lonely great taotie king <<less

Tragedy definitely needs to be up there in the story's genre. Fret not, however. It's just a lil bump in the road. In fact, it greatly enhances their love story.

This one is a bit poignant as MC is just a mortal. What will happen will happen. Read it coz it really is quite the lovely story.

With that said... my favorite takeaway from this short novel is the dog. He's very much a part of their family and I find that so adorable.

What I like about this story is that it tells about a girl who is too kind to the point that the world is taking advantage of her kindness making her a fool.

A guy she likes doesn't treat her right or even show gratitude for all of the things she did for him.

All she wanted was some sort of respect for her. After five years of being pretend lovers so that he could "ascend" as an immortal, the guy still didn't even give a "thank you" once he left. Leaving her alone and sad.

Then a demon-like creature took a form of a human tried to manipulate her to be selfish so that she will want something so bad that she will be desperate enough to offer her heart for him to consume so that she can give him her wish.

All that backfire when he fell in love with her.

At the end, our FL knew who he is but doesn't care, the ML have a change of heart and promised her that when she passed— he will wait for her no matter how long she reincarnate, and last... The FL's first love regretted his actions and realized his love for her too late and dedicated all his life to be kind like her just like how she was kind to him.

This is such a very heartwarming short story that made me wish that there are still more. This kind of love is really precious and one could only wish to encounter in their lifetime. This story also teaches me to never give up on people and to always look on the positive side of things. This story is short, but my tears is long.

So glad this is a happy ending, and as reader would to like to hear more.

This is a beautiful story, there are many touching scenes and the sentence construction is given a good weight, not light or heavy.

I like FL's personality, she's so beautiful in her own way that she can attract two strong cultivators. She's just an ordinary human but her destiny is enough to make the strong man depend on her.

Despite its flaws, this novel is enough to make you satisfied at the end of the story.

Such a good short, while the female lead is naive and foolish she does understand things, just such an endearing character that makes you want to root for her. The male leads perspective chapters were also great.

Short but powerful. If this is your first Chinese novel you might want to say they invented love like, all the classics love story （specifically western one) that you watched paled in comparison.

my heart ached so badly reading this but at the same time it was so sweet... like I was crying and smiling at the same time. anw Just read it guys this is too good 😭 also it's a happy ending! But you surely will cry

Not the kind of tragedy I expected, but its so goooood im bawlingg in teaasrss 😭😭

Bagus banget, omg, so cute, what a love story between mortal and demon... the Taotie had to wait for 43 years for the lady to be reincarnated again... hiccups. Ok, thats it. Its that good. Go read it 😭
