A stalker has stolen an item! ‘MeowieMeowMeow,’ the first person to max out the level of the extremely difficult Berserker class in the game, is annoyed by a user named ‘Cheon Noeul’ who constantly follows him around.

Not only is MeowieMeowMeow teased within his guild because of Cheon Noeul, but he is also stalked and bothered all day.

Then, while MeowieMeowMeow is farming to get the ‘Galaxy Sword,’ an item that drops only once a day in the entire server, Cheon Noeul steals it from him.

Furious, MeowieMeowMeow challenges Cheon Noeul to a real-life fight, and Cheon Noeul boldly reveals his phone number and makes an outrageous statement… Will MeowieMeowMeow end up fighting Cheon Noeul, whom he suspects to be an elementary school kid?!

Considering dropping this.

With this story, I learned that I cannot bear with annoying MLs. Annoying to the point that I despise the MC and ML's dynamic here and don't want to see them end up together. I don't even mind toxic stalker MLs, and this ML being manipulative and sly is the usual fare that I can get passed, but its the clingy, whiny younger brother act on top of being a manipulative stalker that gets me riled and seething.

And maybe its the way MC responds to his pushing that... more>> actually makes it unbearable. MC is a naive idiot that frustrates me to no end, except I find MC loveable and adorable, and his chill nature with his guild mates are fun. Its when he's stepping into traps set up by ML that I can't stand the ML who takes advantage of MC's weaknesses.

Anyway, I like MC too much and ML too little that I don't think I can see this to the end. And maybe it just grinds my gears more because this story is slice of life gaming between teenagers so I prefer this ordinary MC to not be caught by a schemer. <<less

Their interaction is so chaotic I love it some much lol.

It seems like the name of guilds are quite different from the translation of The Guild Member Next Door so it made me a little bit confused

The novel itself is really good! Very fun and great humor. The translation itself isn't super polished (the narration PoV changes seemingly unintentionally quite often without prompt, quite a few names are inconsistent, several cases of random words in the middle of sentences, etc) but you can still definitely get a feel for the story itself :P

I'm enjoying the novel so far. :)) It's cute seeing how the MC gets easily flustered by the teasing, while the ML reacts passively toward the MC, LOL.

So I absolutely loved the story. I had already read My Guild Member Next Door/Virtual Strangers from the same author, and I loved it but I actually prefer this sequel! I just love some clingy and whipped "boyfriend" seeking/stalking his to-be-wife, running around and just being an absolute disaster just to attract their beloved's attention.

The story is simple and lighthearted. Really, don't come in expecting peak poetic writing; it's more about funny and entertaining interactions than deep and complex world-building and descriptions, though to me, the MC and ML's chaotic... more>> relationship makes up for everything and they have adorable moments.

On the other hand, what I have the most issue with is the translation. While I'm deeply thankful to the translator for working on this novel and shared it with us, I'll have to point out a few things: the story is a 5/5 but the translation is a bit wonky sometimes.

    • The first few chapters aren't exactly polished like there are name inconsistencies: ThousandSunsets, Cheon Noeul
      Spoiler

      and Sunset

      [collapse]
are sometimes mixed up (it gets better after a while), though they refer to the same/different characters, which is central to the story.
    • There are some very abrupt change of POV: the story is mainly written in 3rd POV but right in the middle of the same paragraph you'll switch to a 1rst POV. I can only suppose it's the author's writing or the thoughts of the character which haven't been explicitly shown in italics or with a "he thought" afterwards. Ex:
      Spoiler

(nothing explicit btw, they're walking in the street) Kyungsoo blinked and replied, "That's not my back you're touching." I wasn't even tense. Noeul didn't believe him [...].

      [collapse]
    • Also there are a few typos like "ji9star" is confused with "started" resulting in things like "he ji9star ed to laugh", I thought I saw some pronoun irregularities but I might be the only one confused, or a few formatting inconstitencies.
Let this be clear: I'm not trying bring down the translator's work, those are normal mistakes and again I'm truly thankful for this series to have been picked up, but I feel it needs to be precised beforehand because yes, it can make the reading a bit unappealing and laborious, especially during the first 5-10ish chapters. HOWEVER, the translator obviously made a lot of efforts so really, don't be discouraged, read at least the first 15ish chapters! The start can be a bit confusing but the story definitely is worth reading if you like some lighthearted novels about gaming chaotic clingy husband vs. fed-up, reluctant (and yet in the end) fond wifey! <<less

It's pretty cute, it's not a long read either and the chatacters are pretty nice.

The MC and ML dynamic isn't usually my thing, but I still really liked this and found myself sorta attached to them because of how cute they were lol. Like in gmnd, the in-game parts are fun to read (I rlly liked the forum parts) and there's that going back and forth between game and irl that I liked. It's pretty funny in terms of comedy, I felt that I smiled quite a lot reading

Spoiler

the parts with the apple whatever dude were like low-key lame and didn't catch me at all, I just didn't really care about it, I'd say that's the only part that almost lost me

[collapse]

I think it could be noted that there's another novel that shares the same world "일렁일렁", which is the one of Kyungsoo's friends :-p but that has no translation at all and doesn't involve games. (Js saying because no one has mentioned it and it's not under the shared universe thingie) <<less

I came here from Guildmate Next Door, one of my all time favorites (a story in the same universe). I really enjoyed this novel for much of the same reasons that I loved GND, but this story can be read as a stand alone!

I really loved the world building of Illusion, the video game that brings the characters together. Getting in depth scenes of the gameplay and snippets of forum posts was immersive and a very strong selling point to me. I would read a hundred more chapters of their... more>> shenanigans in Illusion!

The selling point for the average reader would probably be the dynamic between the characters and the extended secret held by one of them. Their relationship starts with Person A obsessively following around Person B, while Person B dislikes them. One sided enemies to lovers!

I do wish we learned a little more about the characters' past experiences and family lives, but these things were not necessarily crucial to the story anyways. <<less
