One second he was just a regular high school student in the year 2000, and the next second he crashed right onto the streets of Night City in the year 2076.

What? This place saw 7,289 crimes just last year? The residents’ happiness index is dead last in the entire world? Death is as common as a home-cooked meal? Instead of improving people’s lives, hyper-advanced technology has only allowed mega-corporations and financial cliques to rule Night City with an iron fist.

But what does any of that have to do with Tsunayoshi? All he wants is to stay alive, make a little money, and maybe rent a decent apartment.

Instead, “average citizen” Tsunayoshi completely threw a wrench into the system during his very first part-time job. Not only did he end up stealing a highly classified corporate chip, but his brain was also hijacked by a cyber-ghost of unknown origin!

The ghost calls himself Reborn, and he demands that Tsunayoshi find a new body so he can resurrect himself. On the surface, Tsunayoshi nods along frantically, but in reality, he just slacks off and avoids the task. Are you kidding? As an ordinary person, he just wants to safely lay low and survive in Night City!

Work hard! Rent an apartment! Get promoted! Land a job at a major corporation! The once-impoverished youth eventually amasses wealth beyond imagination.

But the price is a citywide corporation manhunt, with his highest-level wanted posters scattering the streets, and a hard-earned friendship torn to shreds. When everything you hold dear is trampled upon without care, what will you do?

Inheriting everything Reborn left behind, Tsunayoshi decides to go toe-to-toe with the mega-corporations and fight them to the bitter end.

Tsunayoshi wipes the gun in his hand and looks at his reflection in the mirror. “Reborn, you’ll stay with me until the very end, right?”

“Of course,” the voice echoes directly inside his mind. “Go on. Wake them up and paint the town red.”

This is a twisted world. The moment you pick up a weapon, you’d better burn the system to ashes. They say there are no living legends in Night City. Well, now there is one.

This is a protagonist-centric story focused entirely on Tsunayoshi. The canon pairings from Cyberpunk 2077 will not be broken up, so you can read with peace of mind.
