Kim Deuk-Pal is a 47 year old gangster and he is the #2 guy in his gang. He doesn’t have an educational background due to his poor parents, but he has a dream of attending a university. He has been studying to achieve his dream, but it’s not easy. One day, Kim Deuk-Pal sees a young man Song Yi-Heon about to kill himself. At that time, Kim Deuk-Pal’s spirit possesses the body of the suicidal 19 year old high school student. Kim Deuk-Pal soon learns that Song Yi-Heon is a victim of bullying, which has caused him to want to take his own life.

Now, Kim Deuk-Pal in the body of Song Yi-Heon, takes on the bullies to punish them and becomes friends with classmate Choi Se-Kyung. Choi Se-Kyung is a model student who appears to be in a perfect situation, but he suffers from domestic violence at home by his father.

I truly love this novel. I read it a year ago in Korean and I am very glad that I got to know this. I almost never read novels in the modern genre, but I did not regret the time spent on this one at all. MC's soul and original body's age are 47 y.o. And now he's the same age as ML (19 y.o.). Yes, I know, the age gap may confuse you, but it's really wholesome once you start reading it. It's slowburn, and smut will be shown... more>> only at the end of the novel. MC is very reliable and mature persron, but at the same time he's really cute, that's one of the reasons ML fell in love with him. All three of them (MC, ML and MC' body's previous owner) have their skeletons in the cupboard. I have no doubt that your interest will not vanish throughout the story. The plot is very interesting, there is mafia, politics, and the relationship between parents and children, but at the same time, the novel is not overloaded with details, it's great.

In general, the novel is top notch and I recommend it to everyone for reading.

PLEASE GET A NEW TRANSLATOR OR AT LEAST EDIT THE MTL SO THAT IT IS READABLE - I don't understand why people call themselves translators when they're just running it through MTL

Literally cant read a single paragraph without having to attempt to decipher what it is saying - pronouns gets mixed up, weird wording choices, and just phrases that don't make sense

I read the raws.

The story isn't your usual fast-paced 'Papapa' stories. It has an actual plot and good character development.

It has a Happy End. And yes, it's pretty much slow burn though the smut at the end is really good.

I really like the story in the beginning, but I'm really starting to not like it right now because they're trying to redeem the bully guy. It's making me sick to my stomach. He literally drove the original to su*cide and they're acting like he's just a lost kid. That guy bullied someone so bad that they committed su*cide. The main character promised Revenge, but the main bully gets away with it. The main character is far too lenient on the guy that drove the original to su*cide. And it's... more>> like he's just a kid let's just make him feel a little guilty. They treat what he did like it's something in the past and that is all okay. Bully guy would continue to bully the original forever if he didn't die. And don't give me the broken home argument that's an explanation not an excuse or justification. He is disgusting s*um and this is supposed to be a Revenge story not a bully Redemption story. I can never forgive him or watch The Narrative forgive him he beat the main character black and blue tormented him endlessly and then he jumped off a bridge how can I forgive him? <<less

I was watching the Korean drama series based on this novel when I noticed how sweet the two main leads were—I couldn’t help but feel like they were meant to be more than just “bros.” My curiosity got the better of me, so I did a bit of browsing and eventually found the novel. That’s when I realized my hunch was right—they really are meant to be a couple! I absolutely loved the story, and I’m so glad I got the chance to read this wonderful novel.

This was interesting. I liked the concept and it was executed well. I wished the MC had proper closure on the soul's guilt but I'm sure he'll be alright. The ML too is an interesting characters. They're both interesting, including the side characters and there's almost no dull moments in the book. The translation is okay too, look forward to the extras.

After reading the reviews, I was quite afraid at first that the bully would be redeemed, but that's actually not the case. It's just a small plot point so that the author could make the bully admited his past crimes towards the OG MC. I don't think it's that big of a deal, the bully, no matter how tr*shy and disgusting he was, was still a teenager who's capable of feeling even a little tiny bit of gratitude and remorse, so why not?

After more than a hundred chapters, MC only... more>> (barely) accepted ML's feelings. That, if we consider that both of them shared their most important secrets, worked together many times for various reasons, met each other many hours every day for studying and (kinda) going out/flirting, confided their insecurities, fear, hobby and experiences to each other, etc.

MC's a literally iron wall that ML had to do his best to breach, and only barely made it. The bully had no chance since the beginning. Only, it's another punishment for the bully to see the body of the boy he's obsessed with falls for a teenager completely different from how he was, and the only thing he could and should do was to admit his crime and went into jail for what he had done. <<less

I started reading without high expectations, thinking it would just be another generic and boring romance. But I was COMPLETELY WRONG.

All the characters are very well developed, the plot is captivating, and the consistent pacing keeps the story engaging from beginning to end. The protagonists, in particular, are so charismatic that by the time you finish, it feels like they’ve become old friends.

What struck me the most, however, was the way the author handles sensitive topics. Bullying, school violence, domestic ab*se, and society’s neglect of teenagers are portrayed with both... more>> emotion and care, without making the story feel heavy or hopeless. On the contrary, the overall message is positive and inspiring.

The villains are also perfectly detestable, and watching them get what they deserve is absolutely delightful and satisfying. The romance between the protagonists is charming as well, showcasing not only the evolution of their relationship but also their personal and social growth. The romantic partner, in particular, is written brilliantly: his worldview and the way his parents perceive him add depth and originality to the story.

If you’re still wondering whether it’s worth your time, my answer is simple: YES, READ IT! YOU WON'T RE
