The cover and lack of description isn't doing this novel a favour. It's really good. Set in modern times with Hunters and Gates that produce dungeons with monsters. The cover is showing a spoiler from much later into the story, where the MC gets clothing and sandals.

The MC is Yoon Pa-Ran, an orphan with a B-Class water skill but with a hidden S class skill but also for some reason has a hidden A class skill as well. The letters are blocked 0n the skill menu that only he can... more>> see but he uses his S class skill stealthily, a holy skill strengthening his sword being able to take down a monster with just a few hits. He doesn't know what the A class is and can't make any use of it, again lots of *** blocking the facts. He uses his skills to gain money for funding his home, an orphanage where his adoptive mother is the manager and he also has some cute siblings that he's adopted. He comes across as money hungry as he keeps this information secret from the general public and other hunters for the Orphanage's safety.

He thought he got away with using his S-class skill but the ML, Dan Joo-Hyuk has been watching him. The ML, an S class hunter, picks fights with with Pa-Ran a lot but in a childish way and never gives him any real reason for his mild bullying. The public seem to misunderstand and a lot of online comments seem to think that Yoon Pa-Ran has been starting the fights. S-Class hunters in this universe have a lack of empathy and are unable to get along and will fight with other S-Class hunters. That means that a lot of gates can only have one S class at a time unless it's an emergency. This fact is kept hidden by the government agency in charge of hunters.

Joo-Hyuk also has a hidden skill,

He has an S grade skill that can steal another's power but he needs to have the old mucus contact. That old excuse, but we all love it. So he uses it to steal the MC's S class skill but it is limited, he finds out later how to use it. Starts off with kissing only but will get smuttier later on.

He needs to use the MC for at first his own amusement but he slowly becomes more possessive and Yoon Pa-Ran's skill is becoming increasingly more important, useful against the incoming threat and the ML is obviously falling for him in his own way.

The start it seems that he's messing with Pa-Ran's orphanage as well but there's an interesting mystery involved that is slowly revealed in the story.

He only messes with him a little by stopping him from going into the gates but he later becomes so much more helpful for the orphanage and Yoon as he begins to actually get feelings for the MC.

Yoon Pa-Ran is quite feisty and doesn't give into Dan Joo-Hyuk's possessive nature and failure to understand basic human emotions. They banter quite well with each other and eventually agree

to the usual contract partnership and Yoon Pa-Ran gives into a lot of the s*xual advances but that may be due to the nature of his "holy" skill. No more spoilers but it's hilarious. There should be a comedy tag.

Since I have finished reading this novel on Ridi, I will give my review. I actually wanted to give it 3 stars after reading the ending but ended up giving it 4 stars after reading the sweet side story.

Okay, so this is a modern story about a gate, a pretty classic one. What makes it interesting is the relationship that goes from enemies to lovers. Joo-hyuk is quite annoying at first, but he actually always keeps his promises to Para-ran. Don't look at him too negatively when reading it. I... more>> mean, even though Joo-hyuk still doesn't realize his feelings, his behavior towards Para-ran is very sweet, making it enjoyable to read.

There are many misunderstandings between them, and they have difficulty communicating because their relationship was initially just a contract. During the miscommunication part, I'm sure readers will feel annoyed and frustrated, like me, who wanted to scream "PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER!" Well, communication is also a problem in all romance stories, a common thing.

The real problem is the ending. There are so many unresolved things. The enemy who should have been a major enemy was defeated too easily. I was expecting an epic fight, but the enemy died easily and felt quite pointless. This made what should have been a complicated problem in the story become a very easy problem at the end. The only thing that really stood out in the ending was the certainty of the relationship between Pa-ran and Joo-hyuk. In short, I'd say the ending was rushed.

The side stories were full of sweet stories between Pa-ran and Joo-hyuk, even though they didn't address many major issues and were resolved quickly. Perhaps because there were only 10 side stories, there were still many things that could have been told but weren't written about. This really broke my heart.

A little spoiler about the side story

They didn't hide their relationship from the public but didn't officially announce it either. Joo-hyuk actively showed their affection and they made a promise to meet each other's families, but it was just a promise because the side story didn't show the official family meeting. We also saw other hunters' opinions about Joo-hyuk and Pa-ran's relationship, which had actually been obvious for a long time that Joo-hyuk just acted differently towards Pa-ran.
