Seeing as there isn't a review yet I figured I'd write one

This is a highway survival novel where the MC's (Pei Hening) boyfriend (Chu Xuan'ge) regresses from 5 years into the game to right before the game started. The story is told almost strictly from Hening's side with sofar us getting glimpses of what's going on on ML's side through phone calls and meetup at waystations. So far this has been a dash of OP power couple MC and ML with the clearly stronger of the 2 being ML. ML... more>> basically treats MC like a delicate flower in his hands that he raises. He constantly is sending money and items to her to ensure she's okay. Not that this is bad but you get the opinion that if this novel was told from his perspective it would be VERY different.

Anyway so far it's been a quick kinda soft read since MC doesn't really get into fights and seems to be positioning herself as a merchant of sorts in the game but again this might change farther into the novel. Like I said, this would be a very different story from ML's side because we constantly are getting hints of him basically going through the shredder on his side of the story to make sure he's strong enough and has enough resources to protect MC from the dangers in the future.

overall not a bad read just don't really expect much substance in this, it's about as shojo as you can get while still being a transmigration death game action series.

Edit: Decided to MTL up to ch.205 so this might be off due to language issues, MC and ML finally met and party with one another and ironically it feels like the novel is worse off for it. ML went from feeling like a character with his own plot line to being a prop. Strangely when we didn't see him and were just getting catchups with him via phone calls and the school it felt like he had his own goals and motivations and stuff. Now that they've met up and he's with her all the time it feels like he's been turned into a prop for MC to show how cool she is. There are whole chapters where the ML is supposedly standing right next to the MC but doesn't say a single word or get acknowledged. Like the author forgot he was there. Also now that he's here it almost feels like the MC doesn't actually love him that much. Like we constantly get paragraphs about how much ML loves MC and we see it in his actions but MC doesn't really reciprocate, at least if my significant other treated me the MC treats ML I'd want to have a serious talk about where we stand with each other. ML is ALWAYS the one initiating or doing or talking about any affection he has. He's that one that initiates kisses or cuddles, he's the one that openly talks about how much he cares for her and he's the one that does a bunch of acts of caring like cooking or rubbing MC's arms when she's sore, or drawing baths for her when she's tired or ext. Story is told from MC's perspective but I don't think I've seen a single scene where MC talks about how she feels in her relationship with him. It's just implied since she's dating him.

MC also went from being a slightly Mary Sue character to full blown Mary Sue. Also weirdly it feels like the MC became bi-polar randomly? Like before she was level headed and just doing what she needed to do, now there are random moments where she just suddenly gets enraged at people and will mouth off at or attack people who absolutely would be able to flatten her and she know it. There's a whole scene where the ML talks about how she's super strong and always moving forward and if he ever falters she'll just leave him behind so he needs to make sure he's always a couple steps ahead, which excuse me? This man regressed from FIVE years in the future and somehow he's having power creep issues with MC? The guy who we know is constantly training and exp grinding is getting power creeped? And don't get me started and on how that sentence continues that whole does she even love him thing. ML should be comfortably the strongest person in the server by a large majority just due to the fact that the guy is literally strength training.

Anyway novel is still readable but yeah, story took a real hit after the two met up just due to the fact that ML went from being a character to a prop for MC to look good.

Edit: MTLed to ch.243, ML has begun to feel more like a character again since Helian Ye and him have got their own thing going on. But that's early goings so we'll see how that goes. <<less
