As someone who has read further, this novel is actually quite interesting. A strange mix of power fantasy, wuxia, modern day chinese drama, family drama?, romance???. It's a bit of everything, and quite the fun read.

The setting is modern day where High Wuxia exist (There's also knights and the Holy Light but that's a whole continent away and not relevant in the early plot). Humanity is forced to advanced to the modern age due to the threat of Abyss monsters. Our MC has a powerful system that allows her to... more>> absorb points from death of monsters and assign them to her cultivation and martial arts. MC is also not pulling punches, she really do be destroying decade-long meticulous scheme with brute strength (sword).

Don't be overwhelmed with the names, most of them aren't too important. Just place your brain here in this bucket I've prepared and enjoy the ride. <<less

This is a really really good GB novel, Li Wei is quirky and cute, but surprisingly manly too

Straight GB btw, Gu Jinzhi is your good old cold at first, then sweet and doting ML type

Gu Jinzhi is strong and talented,

but you can't even compare the two in latter parts of the novel. Lao Gu gets relegated to the brains (which he does very well, but he does keep striving for more strength),

and Li Wei becomes the Long Aotian that fights across levels, dominates the battlefield, has fortuitous encounters - it's very refreshing to watch and one of the reasons why this novel deserves a 5 star.

Also, the comedy is hilarious 😂, not all novels need comedy to be a good read. But all comedy (done well) novels are definitely great reads, keeps you entertained, not bored and looking for more. The author is really amazing

And not just comedy, the author even made me cry (in public, very embarrassing), due to some certain moving plots. If you're curious what nearly caused my social death, please read and hopefully find yourself in the same situation as I, misfortune is to be shared after all, then I won't feel as embarrassed

To sum up, if you like: straight GB, romance, comedy, action and system - I'm sure you'll enjoy this one, happy reading and a big thank you to Catapult Muffin from Kat Reading Cafe for bringing this novel to my attention. Strong :) <<less

The pacing is fine, the power levelling system is quick enough.

FMC is a battle maniac (obviously) and it’s satisfying to read about her overpowering everyone else.

But it gets to a certain point where there’s more focus on the side characters than FMC, and I’m just not that invested in them. I’m mainly talking about ... more>>

I would prefer reading about her levelling up by killing monsters, I’m not too interested in reading about anything beyond that, but that might be because I’m sleep deprived and bored as I am writing this.

This isn’t to say the plot or writing isn’t good, because it is. I’m just saying that I find myself scrolling past massive amount of dialogue from side characters. <<less

Not bad.

The characters aren't two-dimensional and have a bit of depth. The plot progression also feels smooth since Li Wei has a cheat system that allows her to overpower most of her adversaries so she doesn't have to go through much tribulations typical in wuxia novels. Also, there is still kind of a limit to her powers.

As the story goes along, it will get confusing if you're not familiar with Chinese cultivation novels with mortals, cultivators, immortals and what not. The plot is straightforward and you don't necessarily need... more>> to understand the power system, even surface-level comprehension is fine but you may need a bit of background knowledge regarding Chinese myths.

I checked out the last few chapters through AI translation, it really gets quite confusing but the gist of it is that Li Wei basically goes against the highest divine authorities, manages to outdo them through her system, and then resets the whole universe (literally back to nothingness) while protecting and holding onto the ML's soul. She watches as time passes by back to the era where the ML is born and she transmigrated then they get together again (Finally). So essentially she became heaven herself, she also resurrected those who died in her previous timeline before the reset. So now in this timeline, she gets her revenge against those who chased her in the original timeline and everyone is happy and alive since she's the Dao Ancestor.

The ending was a bit rushed with the power scaling and some mysteries left unsolved but the story progression was satisfying enough that I ended up reading until the end.

The afterstories was honestly the last nail and they were just so sweet. Despite being only 400+ chapters I highly recommend this one for the romance + action.

Up until the final military battle it was still entertaining to read but after that just boring.

The time difference before the military final battle, it took like 3 months to go from the first chapter to there (like 65% of the story), then after the final battle you see text like one day, one month, two months etc. Constantly.

Romance, well don't expect it until the end basically. Although ML changed his stance and started to be more proactive, they until the end were a bit more than friends but less... more>> then lovers. FL quite disliked the physical contact, and unsure of her feelings.

The power dynamics, well not useful to FL who only been T1, T2, T3, T6, T9 myth and supreme. Her battle prowess is T3 beating T7 or T6 is like T9.

The speed of upgrades at first it was fast, but then just stopped, later skyrocket.

Don't expect her identity issue to be resolved any time soon.

Even if FL is OP, she still would have lost if not for the family help (brother and Ml) <<less
