Wow. If you’re in the mood to cry or for some existential angst, this is for you. It is a sweet and sad novel about the romance between two brilliant researchers (Philosophy x Physics) whose inner Qi or soul resonates between two worlds, allowing them brief intersections. Both are viewed as being mentally ill and their partners as figments of their imaginations. This is a short, but sweet novel ripe with emotional catharsis. It can’t be said to be a HE or BE... more like just they ENDED. Definitely worth... more>> the few minutes to read, just have tissues ready! <<less

This is a short and very thin story that communicates one of the most world shaking loves anyone can imagine. Two people separated in a way that means they should never meet instead shape and define the course of each other's lives.

The world building is limited yet works. The characterization gives you a strong sense of the characters while only skimming the surface. My only regret is that due to the length, the focus is not on the process of falling in love so much as the act of loving... more>> communicated by a few very meaningful gestures. Its bittersweet.

I strongly recommend this for anyone who loves happy endings and sometimes wishes they knew how it all truly ends... and begins. <<less

This is a very short read.

Nothing exceptional, but it is unique and very subjective. One can understand it in a number of ways and might still not understand what exactly is happening in the end.

It was also cute and warm hearted.

Worth a read!

Definitely worth your time! (*˘︶˘*).｡* It's a little confusing for me at first then as the story progresses, I was able to connect all the dots together. It's sad and beautiful at the same time, their story is neverending, like a loop going around in circle.

For me, it's a happy ending. The fact that they are going to meet again and again even after death truly transcends time and space, it's like falling in love again and again with the same person. (◍•ᴗ•◍) ❤

This is actually the first review I have ever written.

This is an amazing short story. I can't say it has a happy ending, but I also can't say it has a BE. I actually regretted reading this, not because it was not good because believe me it was awesome. I just don't like to read anything that will make me cry my eyes out. The kind of love the main characters shared was like no other. I can't imagine loving someone whom you can only share fleeting moments with, but... more>> never a full life time.

It's actually an amazing story that I will definitely recommend, just prepare some tissues. <<less

Wow. This was an amazing short story. With a happy ending you couldn't have imagined. The interactions between the two characters had to be so delicately done since there are only four chapters to the story, both the author and translator did a wonderful job with it.

You will need some tissues, but it was a beautiful short read. Well worth trying!

A bittersweet story. I was confused until the last chapter and understood the gist after sleeping on it but frankly still don't understand it completely. The story would've been better if more details were given of their relationship... how they fell in love, who liked who first, etc.

Philosopher Yu Yingwen loves physicist Rong Qianshan. They exist in parallel worlds.

RQ went into YY's mind/dreams and they had a romantic relationship. However, YY tries to find RQ but couldn't find RQ in real life.

Then RQ set up for YY to visit his world on the day of RQ's funeral. At the funeral, YY received a hourglass that allowed YY to visit RQ's world when RQ was younger. I guess this was meant to help inspire the younger RQ to study parallel worlds.

When RQ was alive, he had a metal plate attached to his body to help him connect to YY.

The doctors thought YY had a mental disease and he was on drugs for 30 years and hospitalized for over 20 years. I'm unsure if YY really had schizophrenia or was misdiagnosed due to his "dreams" of RQ.

It is vague when RQ stopped visiting YY and why. I assume he was discharged from the hospital after RQ disappeared.

Of note: RQ and YY developed their relationship within the same timeline yet different worlds. The hourglass let the older YY go into the past five times.

I feel overwhelmed. Their love was unique and unconditional, they messed with the universe because of how much they loved eachother and I adore them for that. Certainly worth the read! My heart felt bittersweet.
