“Sister, will you be my substitute?”

Countess Louise Recott’s life is destroyed by the words of her twin sister, Lina, who is exactly like her.

As she acts as Lena’s double, Lena is praised as a “brilliant woman” and Louise is ridiculed as “incompetent” by her family and everyone around her.

One day, her fiancé, the second prince Fred, unilaterally announces the end of their engagement.

The one who stands by Fred’s side is Lina.

Louise has had everything taken away from her by her sister.

The first person to appear in front of her in ten years is Lucius, the beautiful first prince, who is said to be a “rare genius.”

“This house is too small and cramped for you. Louise deserves a bigger world.”

This is the story of a young man who gradually heals the heart of a girl who has had everything taken from her.

It's a bit much and is already going way past suspension of disbelief. The character setup is twin sisters one with a decent personality and another with a rotten personality. (That's from the synopsis).

Spoiler

The decent one apparently has a non functioning brain. She;s been abused/taken advantage of by the rotten sister but still agrees to substitute for the rotten sister when they get to magic school ruining her life🤦‍♂️

[collapse]

Simply put after that setup my thought is she deserved it. What's more if I read this novel by an author that was this ham handed I would deserve it as well

Edit: skimmed to the 60s it's every bit as formulaic and repetitive as the opening hints at <<less
