Chi Lengzhao thought to herself, “Karma really is real. The harder you laugh at someone, the worse your own fate will be.”

In her original world, she had been an S-Class Alpha, the president of a large corporation, with several publicly listed companies under her control. Unfortunately, she had one flaw—she couldn’t mark anyone. She was considered a defective Alpha. When it came to beautiful Omegas, she always kept her distance and avoided them as much as possible.

She never expected to suddenly find herself in the world of a yuri ABO novel.

In the story, the character she now inhabited was a cruel and twisted cannon-fodder Alpha, also named Chi Lengzhao. This woman had tricked the heroine, Shen Zhixi, into marriage during a difficult time in her life. After the wedding, her true colors showed. She forcibly marked Shen Zhixi every day.

Eventually, Shen Zhixi insisted on a divorce. She went through the painful process of cleansing the mark, took charge of her family’s business, and rose to the top of her career. She later married her childhood sweetheart and became a true winner in life.

In contrast, the original Chi Lengzhao lost everything in a brutal family power struggle. She was kicked out of her home, left to wander the streets, betrayed by her so-called friends, and finally had her glands removed by Shen Zhixi. Her life became a nightmare.

Back then, the real Chi Lengzhao had laughed when she read this part. “Serves her right!” she had said.

But now, she had become that very character.

On her first day in this new world, the bridal room was filled with a strong scent of Omega pheromones. A beautiful woman lay on the bed in the middle of a heat cycle, trembling but forcing herself to stay calm. Her long eyelashes sparkled with tears, and her pale skin was flushed with a seductive pink.

As Chi Lengzhao stepped closer, the woman opened her eyes. They were red with pain and anger. She looked at her with hatred and despair.

“Get away from me!” she shouted.

Terrified, Chi Lengzhao quickly found an inhibitor for the woman that night. She knew exactly who she was. This was her wife—Shen Zhixi—the same woman who, in the story, would one day remove her glands and make her life a living hell.

Shen Zhixi had been reborn into this world as well. She was shocked to see that the cruel and twisted Chi Lengzhao had completely changed. She was now elegant, calm, and dignified. There was even a touch of cold indifference in her behavior.

Before, Shen Zhixi had only thought about how to escape from this awful Alpha. But now, all she could think was: “How can I get her to bite me just once?”

Shen Zhixi released her pheromones and slowly walked toward her.

“I don’t believe you,” she said softly. “Are you really not capable?”

Chi Lengzhao backed away, covering the back of her neck with her hand.

“Stay away from me! I really can’t do it!”

Later, Shen Zhixi looked at her, holding her round belly and smiling.

“I thought you said you couldn’t,” she teased. “Hmm?”

Screwww youuuu

You just like giving every couple a miserable life first huh.

  • Plot, storytelling, writing, good great fantastic. Written well lots of mystery and villains arent all purely villains, such as the original s*umbag. Very fun. Romance was flowing great too.
  • MC, cold type but golden retriever to the FL. Very smart and knowledgeable about business. Has her own insecurities that gets fixed via good communication.
  • FL, cold but very loving. Very smart too and figures out Mc's intentions and real origin quite quickly. They dont have that amazing of communication, it's just that the FL is smart enough to guess what's wrong and starts most of the conversation
Now my issues

  • My god, this doesnt feel like a happy ending. MC and FL JUST HAVE to SUFFER right before the ending HUH. Mc's parents? Yeah them too! Mc's ex, her as well! They just can't catch a break. My number one issue is the MC still suffering by the end—WHAT was the point of it all? To drive home how constantly pitiful the FL's life is??
Anyway, very frustrated. Would have given a 4, 3 for the s*upid cliche of end suffering before final-true-good ending.

It's fine, fairly funny and a relaxing read, basically. The leads are likeable, over-all the stakes, narratively, aren't pushed too high so anyone who just wanna read smth can give this a go.

The only thing I'm not a fan of, however, hence my less than 4 rating is an arc occuring somewhere in the 40-ish chapters.

Spoiler

Over-all, not a fan of how the Si Yu situation was handled. Idk, the story frames it as if this situation is utterly out of control and the MC is so pitiful due to it, but I can't bring myself to feel any pity. Either cut those ties from the get-go, not rush out in the middle of the night for a girl that's not your wife supposedly due to guilt. That whole "I'm sorry, I have a wife" bit of rejection irked me too. At this point, it's really all just personal nitpicks. Either be firm with it or not, thereby leaving room from interpretation from the party.

That being said, my frustration comes mostly from how quickly this was pushed under the rug and resolved. I began feeling fine when Shen Zhixi's parents, righteously, felt wronged for their daughter and had a little punishment in mind for the MC, but it was quickly backtracked so I got frustrated again. Once more, either be firm with it or not. I'll expand this thought after I've read some more. The next few chapters will determine for me whether this'll be worth continuing any longer.

Expansion:

Alright, after some cooling off, I've gathered my thoughts. The origin of my frustration lies in the lack of care towards Shen Zhixin's feelings in general. While it may be heartwarming and cute that she is developing feelings overtime and feeling jealous, with this sincerity being reciprocated as portrayed by the narrative through the MC, it is frustrating to read the MC, despite everything, being utterly incapable of establishing boundaries. Once to give in is once more than enough, there's still yet any explanation on how this "guilt" stemmed to be in the first place. Why is the MC, for some odd reason, despite being a completely different soul, capable of seeing through the original body's father's schemes and cut ties directly, along with Shi Xin, and yet utterly unable to with this woman, whom while the original character had a connection, the MC who had taken over, had absolutely none?

There is also the lack of pre-introductory trajection that would've hinted at such a plot. We only knew of Si Yu's existence when she was haphazardly introduced. We had neither hints nor confirmation to such a presence, not even through the MC's original friends, that could've pointed this out. Only after she was introduced that she was known, and only then did we learn anything. I say this because her identity is important enough that even post-marriage, Si Yu is referred to as the MC's girlfriend by her close friends (of which she didn't say anything, btw, which also irked me). And no, do not give me the excuse that "explaining is no use, they won't listen/the situation is complicated"---this brings me to my other problem.

Just complete, utter, neutral compliant silence. As I said, I find myself extremely confused on how the MC developed such deep feelings for the person out of guilt that she's given priority everytime she appears despite the narrative saying how much the MC wants to cut ties.

To be completely real in speaking here, while Si Yu holds blame for continuing to cling to a married person, I don't blame her for everything. I even feel quite sorry for her. Her love is obsessive, that much I can conclude, and she's willing to lower herself down so much just for this love. Dignity scattered in the wind. Hence why a lot of my frustration is directed on the MC. The narration is pushing for it, yet the character barely does anything. The writing even has the audacity to paint the situation as helpless, with the MC deserving of pity, when to be honest, such a scenario could've been prevented from happening had the MC just been clear with it.

Again, either be firm with it or not, leaving behind lingering fruitless hope. Ah, and at the very least, if you know this could cause misunderstandings, while I know the MC is a sweetheart, for someone you barely know, and with the narrative pushing for your developing feelings, it's very frustrating and contradictory to read the MC just do opposite choices.

For anyone who reads this, just picture this in your mind: Would you, while bound in a business marriage, yet at the same time developing feelings for your spouse though you had not yet realized, rush out of your home during Christmas Eve that you would've spent with your wife because a friend called you that your ex (whom you don't know/are not familiar with) is drunk; add on to that, you can feel your spouse getting hold of the situation and it might lead to misunderstandings, would you still go nonetheless? Would you, while subconsciously liking someone else, allow someone else to hover over you within intimate distance? Someone you consider a stranger?

I think this question better sums up what I find so irking in this story. Well, that, and Shen Zhixin's injustice. Her feelings deserve to be respected, and while having a partner who can be jealous to show they care is cute, deliberately jumping into a situation that would 100% cause such feelings is not.

TLDR; as the earlier review said, so much drama just for the sake of drama. I'm sorry that the MC ended up becoming my punching bag though. :') P.s. Will continue this review perhaps after I read more.

I've read more! With a clear mind, I thought I didn't need to continue reading therefore I just skimmed through it. On that note, here are my thoughts; I've guessed pretty much the latter half of the plot and I'm 99% certain. 1% because I haven't gotten there and have no plans to. Anyways, that's not what I'm here to talk about.
Spoiler

What I wanna talk about most is how the original MC is as much of a character as the MC. She truly did love Si Yu, and so did Si Yu. What she did in expense of Shen Zhixin is unforgivable, however I like that there's finally something behind this haunting presence. I can now go ahead and allow myself the peace of mind to interpret the MC's excessive concern towards Si Yu as the lingering affection of the original person.

So, for a little game, let me guess. The original MC is the child of her "aunt" and her mother instead, isn't she? Idk what is the reason for their break-up in the past since as far as I know their feelings are reciprocated, but that "father" probably has smth to w/ it as a jab to his sister.
Is my guess correct?

TLDR; continue on with the story with peace of mind, perhaps you wouldn't mind my nitpicky criticisms as much as you would. I won't change my rating as I think it suits it just fine. Have a great read everyone! Peace out.

Spoiler

There were some more chapters I was interested in and I'll give the passage:

"Chi Lengzhao was so angry she was about to explode. She was getting impatient. Why was she being so long-winded and indecisive? If you like her, stay; if you don't, leave. Why come up with all these high-sounding reasons?"

GOOD LORD. What a coincidence and how funny! It's incredibly ironic that this is literally all my frustrations summed up, and here goes the MC just spelling it outright and I had it out for her earlier LMAOO. Alright, this is the last edit, peace out!
