Xie Hong, a master of modern handicrafts, traveled back in time to the Zhengde Era of the Ming Dynasty.

Xie Hong was lucky, because he, the ultimate player, met the Emperor who loved to play the most.

Xie Hong was unlucky, because those who played with the Emperor had a bad reputation and were called Court Jesters!

Grand Secretary Li Dongyang (in deep distress): “Treacherous Officials! The Emperor has been led astray by Court Jesters like Xie Hong.”

The high-ranking court eunuch Liu Jin (heartbroken): “Demon! I served the Emperor for ten years to gain some standing, yet he became sworn brothers with the Emperor in just one month.”

Emperor Zhengde (very pleased): “A talent indeed! Being good at play and creating new ways to play is what makes someone great. I like him!”

Later historians: “Xie Hong was a Court Jester in the palace and a capable official in the Imperial Court. The reason the Great Ming Dynasty could dominate the world and spread its virtue to all lands was because of this man.”
