If you bank on this getting good at some point, by all means. I dislike the pilot enough to drop it, but more powers for proving me wrong. Tho, I'd not be surprised by what the plot will sell cheap just to circlejerk MC's stock.

It's shite. This entire pilot is just a troupe about why have people never done this before the birth of Korean Jesus. Shooting at least armored part? What ingenuity! Enchanting weapon? Ok, that we know. Enchanting ammunition for ranged weapon? HAVE MY DAUGHTER OH THRICE BLESSED ONE.

Seriously, this thing doesn't pass the smell test. The setting clearly stated that this institute was chaired by an effing god, overseeing a crusade across the multiverse, with all the seriousness of a prison fight on its mission to oversee the birth of new hope. It supposed to be the authority on all things demon killing, having forgotten and made obsolete more sheer knowledge than most civilizations can muster - it goes pikachu face every time Korean Jesus fart.

Pros:

Takes a pretty common trope nowadays and runs with it, doing really well

Maintains a solid character and doesn't just arbitrarily turn them into some weak kneed person in the name of shounenhood, definitely a tier at keeping the personality consistent

Power scaling and system so far very clear, concise, and logically sound, allowing for growth in various ways that stay consistent and work

Takes the trope of veteran dude whose expert at mu*dering demons or baddies and turns them into a professor, but does it in a way that isn't all, hey, I'm a genius kid whose secretly old, or suddenly turns them into ultra spineless people or suddenly just changes everything about them, they maintain the clear attitude and personality from someone who would've gone through something like that and uses it to its fullest

They also don't hyper fixate on things a lot of other novels do with those types of tropes like how super ultra mega op he is or how resurrection made him ultra weak so now he needs to grow like a shounen protag, they keep it clear, and punctual and well written

Cons:

Does use a trope that is popping up nowadays, and not much written of the novel yet, so more needs to be seen

Is on a site I don't fully trust but does seem to be legit, due to suspiciously low traffic and reviews, no ads or malware, though it could just be a newer group <<less
